  • I'd consider buying this book if he didn't harp on about the "English" archers and the "English" victory when it was a Welsh king and the battle was won thanks wholly to Welsh archery. The same Welsh archers who under Owain Glyndwr terrorised the English but who were now united with them. This is one of Britain's great victories, not England's.

  • It was a dreadful battle that ended with a War Crime on the part of the English! It is nothing to be proud off!

  • @Weston1968 I don't understand how you call this a war crime. Surely the English were outnumbered and fear for their own safety. To judge an ancient war by a modern standard seem very strange.

  • @Southland27 Read up on the end of the Battle!

  • I have read nearly every book he's written, Agincourt is by far one of the best. He really brings the detail to life. After reading this, you almost feel as though you were one of the archers there. Excellent work.

  • Bernard Cornwell is a long with Conn Iggulden my favourite author. He (BC) simply writes splendidly.

  • However Agincourt acheived little unlike poiters and crecy.

  • learning this at school

  • learning this at school

  • Look at a map of england in relation to the world

    its tiny.

    And then be our freinds.

    Were not horrible people.

  • @zenoist2 It's true. I stay in England for two year. Most British very nice. India and Pakistan people pain in ass. Good thing about Arab is they have shops nearby where I can get spicey. Otherwise they smell too much and make loud sound. I like England but not cold damp weather.

  • Whoops there I am slagging you lot off and there I was going right off the subject of the video.

Anyway lets celebrate the English victory at Azincourt. Sorry Agincourt. Even the French recognise this battle as extraordinary. There's a monument at the battle sight. Lets also not forget The Battle of Crécy and Poitiers. They are all legend.

  • @FunnyMelonGirl Yes Crecy Poitiers Agincourt all stunning victories against the odds against vast armies of French who were supposed to be the elite fighting force of Christendom.

  • Hey you guys this video is about Agincourt. Save your arguments for a video about the Ottoman Empire. This video is to celebrate the English archers.

  • English men show France how to fight. Later they build a empire to be proud. Thailand have just big trouble to fight neighbor country. England only tiny country but they have proud war history.

  • @Southland27 Nice to know someone appreciates the English and their history. Don't listen to that silly Turk idiot. He's just jealous of what England was able to achieve...It's called jealousy...and now he finds himself enjoying life in a successful ex British colony...and he has to speak the language of the country he hates...English. I suppose they've still got a bit of an empire...Half of Cyprus. These days Turks are only good for making kebabs for the English...Warrior race...Love it :-)))

  • @JollyRodders Oh and by the way, your beloved mongols raped your pathetic pollock asses at the battle of Liegnitz....LMAO

  • @Kingofsomething87 "Oh and by the way, your beloved mongols raped your pathetic pollock asses at the battle of Liegnitz"

And your TurkGay arses were kicked at the Battle of Vienna. As Europeans that's what matters to us liitle boy. It's a shame the English wern't involved, but then I suppose even your mighty warriors dare not mix it with the English peasent army. The Treaty of Karlowitz was the begining of the end for you rag heads in Europe. Now then about Ottoman slavery in the 20thC..??

  • @TheDepotCat As I said I have no more intention of wasting time on either one of you. You are clearly no different than the rest of your filthy arrogant nation. History is a testament to the courage and detemination of the Turkish people and there is nothing your comments can do about it. Fuck and stop replying.

I will not reply to your future comments as its clearly as pointless as conversing with pigs.

  • @Kingofsomething87 "History is a testament to the courage and detemination of the Turkish people..." To make a good kebab...To wash more...and try to stop shagging sheep - Heh heh

Well as you havn't even answered the questions I put to you I think you are the one wasting me and Jolly's time. It's clear that you are the arrogant one and I am wasting my time with YOU. It's clear that you are very small minded and jealous of England...And that makes me glad...Very glad in fact. Sod off rag head.

  • jolly and depot don't argue with this silly turk. He hates the English, but needs to write their language as jolly said he lives in a country set up by the Brits and as depot said thank goodness the Germans want to keep them ouyt of the eu. Good question about Frenchies. They were on the beaches too so why dosn't he hate them for invading Turkey.

  • @FunnyMelonGirl "...Frenchies. They were on the beaches too so why dosn't he hate them for invading Turkey."

Yeah exactly. He's just a small minded bigot. It's easy for the English he hates to look down on low life :))

  • Also watch the video "How to shoot a medieval Longbow - English Heritage"...A link is to the right posted by BallistaMedia. Or copy and paste>>> watch?v=YtTyOf8OCKg

  • Awww - Don't you enjoy life in an ex British colony?

Quite frankly I don't give a hoot whether you ignore my so called "impudence". Just because the English won a battle at Agincourt you get all upset about the English. Pathetic jealousy from a small mind.

  • @JollyRodders LoL Nice one.

  • @JollyRodders Hey I posted a comment. Where'd it go?? Anyway, it was just to back you up. I hate these English haters. They're such low lifes and they wonder why we look down on them ;-)))

  • @JollyRodders Sorry to dissapoint you but my country NEVER EVER fell to filthy english rule

  • @Kingofsomething87 So you don't live in Canada then..?? What country do you come from..?? It's just so I can call you a filthy {Whatever you are}. Or are you too embarrassed to say..?? :)))

  • @JollyRodders I am Turkish. And the English did try to take our country but we defeated them at Gallipoli and drove them out of our country

  • @Kingofsomething87 So you're Turkish enjoying life now in an ex British colony...What a hypocrite.

  • @Kingofsomething87 So based on your example Gallipoli. You will also hate the French, who you are defending here, New Zealanders and Australians. Yes you are right the allies were defeated at Gallipoli, but Turkish plans to drive Britain from the Middle East were thwarted at the Battle of Romani. The Battle of Beersheba achieved what Gallipoli had failed to do....So the British stopped the Turks from setting up an empire of their own...Awww now we know why you hate zee English - Ha Ha :)))

  • @JollyRodders listen you lowly polish little shit. The English wanted to take constantinople, but we defeated them and maintained our country's independance. I am talking about Turkey here not all of the middle east.

  • @Kingofsomething87 Awww - You have to resort to name calling...Pathetic little Turkey boy. Oh by the way there's a new film being made about the Battle of Vienna...Something about an army led by a King of Poland...John III Sobieski...versus the Ottoman Empire army...The Turks got their arses kicked in that one too. It all ended with the Treaty of Karlowitz.. Better stick to making Doners. That's all Turks are good for.

  • @JollyRodders Go to hell hell polack. The reason the Ottoman empire lost at vienna was beause it was overextended. Obviously every empire had its limits. This had nothing to do with you polacks being good soldiers. And like I told you I am not talking about the loss of territory in Syria and Egypt, I am talking about the successful defence of the motherland which we successfully carried out at Gallipoli.

  • @Kingofsomething87 Go to hell yourself greaseball Turkey Boy...Cluck cluck. The Turks lost and that's what counts. Looks like the Turk idea of an empire was thwarted...Thanks to a Polish led army...Ha....Oh dear what do we find here..?? The Turkish idea of a new empire was thwarted yet again...by the British...Ha Ha. I can't understand why the British want smelly Turks in the EU. Thank goodness the Germans opose this. Oh and the French...who were also at Gallipoli...How's the doner doing? Cluck!

  • @TheDepotCat Damn - You said it all for me :) Cheers Cat :))

  • @TheDepotCat Go fuck yourself you and your pollack friend. We Turks are a mighty race made for war. Our conquests and military achievments speak for themselves. We butchered your european asses in the crusades. You guys allied against us and tried to stop us from taking eastern Europe but we still beat you at Nicopolis. If you are going to ignore all of our military achievements and only focus on vienna and ww1 (when the Ottoman empire was exhausted) then you are ignorant idiots

  • @Kingofsomething87 The Battle of Nicopolis just a slight scratch. The Turks were defeated in the end and that's all that matters. Muslim scum. Poles 1...Turks didn't Heh heh. Ottoman empire was exhausted...Leave it out...They were just no good. Now you live in the west...What's wrong with Turkey..?? Not good enough for you...No you have to live in an ex British colony...Oh how that must hurt - Ahaa. Now slimeball go and put my chicken shish on the grill and wash your greasy Ottoman hands first.

  • @JollyRodders You lowly pathetic polish little shit. You and your people are scum. We ruled eastern europe for more than 500 years. The many battles we fought to achieve this will never be forgotten. And I am not in Canada as an immigrant. I am here as a transfer student and I have every intention of going back home. I will not waste anymore time on scum like you so dont bother replying.

  • @Kingofsomething87 "We ruled eastern europe for more than 500 years" And everyone remembers the Ottoman Empire whith such fond thoughts...Especially the Armenians. The battles to rid the world of the Ottoman Empire will NEVER be forgotten. They are truly heroic. That film about The Battle of Vienna should be something for you to look forward to - Heh heh. I don't suppose a narrow minded bigot like you will be able to watch such a film...So Fuck off yourself Turkgay boy :)))

  • @JollyRodders {{Turkgay boy}} - LoL!!!!

  • @JollyRodders Why dont you go nail your sister pollack?

  • @Kingofsomething87 {{We Turks are a mighty race made for war}}

You Turks are a stinking race made for sheep shagging.

Didn't the Italians wipe the floor with you lot in 1912 ?

I expect Canada will be glad to see the back of at least

    one stinking sheep herder.

  • @TheDepotCat Youre just a bitter little bitch. If you were one tenth as educated as you claim to be then you would know the truth about the Turkish people. Fuck off you and your pollack friend

  • @Kingofsomething87 And you're a bitter little sheep buggerer. What's the matter don't they have sheep out in Canada...Well one's that like the smell of Turks? I know the truth about your Ottoman history. It stinks. There was nothing glorious about it, and it was a good job the Euros got together to kick your stinking arses out. Look at the mess in the Balkans today...Cheers Turkey...Turks are nothing but posh arabs. Muslim trash. I've got a good recipe for stuffing turkey.

  • @TheDepotCat Go fuck yourself you english little shit. This is all I have to say to you

  • @Kingofsomething87 Go and fuck yourself you smelly Turk greaseball. It's a shame the English archers never taught your stinking ancestors a thing or two. Still that Polish king did kick Ottoman arse real good. Yeah I look forward to that film about that now...Just because of a bull shitting dip shit like you. I bet you won't even be able to bring yourself to watch it...The bringing down of a "mighty race made for war"...Your words not mine, that's for sure...I can't wait Ha Ha.

  • @TheDepotCat Go to hell. The english archers were peasant pussies. Stop wasting my time you english piece of shit

  • @Kingofsomething87 What you again...You're like a bad smell...Hang on I'll just get the air freshner....

"The? english archers were peasant pussies"

Yeah that's what the French thought too you dumb arse stinking kebab muncher. They'd make mince meat out of your mighty race of TurkGays. Fvcking bunch of sheep shagging rag heads. Now piss off and wash your armpits...with soap this time.

  • @TheDepotCat Youre not really original with your insults are you? Seriously bitch think of something new. The english archers won not because they were tough but because the french were not realistic in their strategy. And your wrong bitch, the Turks with their swift horses and composite bows would rape those pussy archers.

Seriously bitch stop wasting my fucking time

  • @Kingofsomething87 Ooo you are a bitchy TurkGay fellow arn't you..??

And you're accusing me of not being original..?? DoH!!! Anyway, why do I need to be original with smelly shit.

"the french were not realistic in their strategy."

Yep - three times they got whipped by English archers...Some pussies eh..?? Dumb Arab.

  • @Kingofsomething87 Who really remembers that gay Ottoman empire except TurkGays anyway. It's just as well that your mighty warrior race never met the archer peasants of England. You would've been trashed like you deserve. It's to England's everlasting shame that they allied themselves with a bunch of stinking rag heads. Oh didn't France kick TurkGay arse in Egypt too..?? Then later Britain came along and whipped French arse...AGAIN....Warrior race Ha Ha - Stick to making kebabs TurkGay boy.

  • @TheDepotCat Oi..!!!! TurkGay was my idea ;-)

But I don't mind you using it to slag off this little creep.

I can't get over that "a mighty race made for war" comment that he came out with. What a hen brain. He probably dreams that a new Ottoman empire will one day rise up. Interesting about the French in Egypt.

  • @JollyRodders stay out of this pollock

  • @Kingofsomething87 "stay out of this pollock"

Stick it your arse rag head.

It's lucky for the Turkgays that Timur died when he did. Now the Mongols were true warriors. Cruel, but great warriors. After the Battle of Ankara, Italy stupidly allowed their ships to be used to enable the beaten gay boy Ottoman soldiers to run away...Your men of war?

I don't suppose you want to talk about women being sold as slaves in the Ottoman Empire as late as the early 20th century...No? There's a surprise.

  • @JollyRodders You really are dumb fucking pollock. We Turks defeated the mongols on multiple occasions. Ever he heard of the Mamluks. They were Turkish soldiers who were recruited to defend the Sultans of Egypt. They eventually took over power and whooped mongol asses on multiple occasios like at Ain Jalut., the first battle of Hims, the second battle of hims, and many other battles. Go read some book you pathetic pollock piece of shit before posting comments here.

  • @Kingofsomething87 "We Turks defeated the mongols on multiple occasions" Oh yes after running away like scared little kids in boats provided by Italians. Well I can't deny that Poland had trouble with mongols, but they never went through Poland to the rest of Europe...But hey Poland kicked Turklish botties and as I said before that's what counts. Poland started the decline of your little empire. Now tell me you hate Poland like you hate the English...Then I know my ancestors did a real good job

  • @JollyRodders Jolly, do your self a favour and stop kissing english ass. It really comes out as pathetic.

Dont expect me to reply to your childish comments either

  • @Kingofsomething87 "Dont expect me to reply to your childish comments either"

Fvck off then TurkGay boy and stop wasting my time on here. Oh yeah stink breath...I'm English first Polish second. I think both countries sorted out you smelly TurkGays....And that's what matters..."Built for war..." Ha Ha. What a doughnut brain. I'll still PM you when that new film comes out. Now go and shower stinky.

  • @Kingofsomething87 "When the champions of Islam saw the enemy advancing to attack

they all lost the desire to fight. Utterly devastated by the terrible defeat which had occured in accordance with the supreme will

of Allah, Kara Mustafa took the holy flag of Islam and turned to flee. Fighting and shedding bloody tears everyone tried to escape

with life and limb from the infidel swine".

TurkGay eyewitness at the end of the Battle of Vienna 1683.

YaY. Fuck off TurkGay sheep shaggers and wash.

  • @JollyRodders Like that 1683 thing...Nice one Jolly. I can't wait for that film. I'll PM the TurkGay smelly one when it comes out too. I expect it'll be banned in Turkey anyway heh heh.

  • @TheDepotCat All of a sudden the air seems fresher?? Oh yeah that TurkGay fellow hasn't been on here for a while.

  • @JollyRodders Heh heh - Yeah. I never got around to mentioning the name T. E. Lawrence...That would've been just too cruel :)

  • @Kingofsomething87 "Go read some book you pathetic pollock piece of shit before posting comments here" Oh I wouldn't waste my time reading about TurkGay...Except where they got their arses booted out of Europe...That's fun reading. No it's time to watch Dispatches about how Muslim schools are teaching kids to hate anyone who isn't a Muslim. Now run it past me again why youdon't hate the French who invaded Turkey at Gallipoli...I think you do but can't admit it....Fucking sore arse TurkGay.

  • @JollyRodders >time to watch Dispatches about how Muslim schools<

Hi yer Jolly I just saw that Dispatches on CH4. Can we expect arrests for incitement to racial and religious hatred or are the police going to use their time and our money "productively" to investigate CH4--Again!! imagine if that was a Christain or Jewish or any other school. There would be uproar. I see the local MP is sucking up to Muslims 'This kind of documentary is ideal fodder for the EDL"...So we should just ignore it?

  • @TheDepotCat Youre such a pathetic idiot. You keep using examples of the Ottoman empire during its collapse. We have been kicking ass in Europe for hundreds of years. If you were anything short from a complete idiot you would recognize that every empire has its good days and bad days. For the last time stop wasting my time you lowly english peasant piece of shit

  • @Kingofsomething87 "every empire has its good days and bad days"

But surely the TurkGays were bred for war as you would have us believe. Tell us exactly what the gay Ottomans achieved except as you so eloquently put it "kicking ass in Europe". Well your gay ancestors got shafted well and good by Europeans in the end, but then you arabs like it up the arse anyway. Now I suggest you run along smelly little boy and stop wasting our time on here. I think the local shop is doing a good deal on soap.

  • @TheDepotCat "kicking ass in Europe" The only think these greasy types were doing was shagging each others arses. Men of war - Ha!!!!!

  • @TheDepotCat Youre clearly an immature idiot. I bet youre a kid who gets his kicked at school everyday and so trues to blow some steam youtube...haha pathetic. The Ottoman empire was a great empire, at its height it spanned three continents reaching a size equivalant of that of the Roman Empire. We won countles battles in Europe such as Maritsa, Varna (where we whipped polish ass by the way), Nicoplis, Kosovo, Mohacs, and many more.

  • @Kingofsomething87 Oooo we are getting a bitchy TurkGay again. You must be missing all the sheep shagging. Now then you are the one who started all this by saying you hate the English...So it looks like you are the kiddie here. So your little gay empire was the size of the Roman one that at least left a legacy in Europe...What did the TurkGays do for their conquered outposts..?? What are they remembered for...Oh yeah slavery and...erm. Well that's it really. Looking forward to that film jolly :)

  • @Kingofsomething87 "The Ottoman empire was a great empire, at its height it spanned three continents" Well no one really remembers it like the Roman Empire...or the British Empire....or even the Mongols...except well...TurkGays...so it wasn't that good was it. How I wish those English peasant archers could have met arrogant rag heads...But hey that was made up for later. Yep you got your arses licked well and truly by us British....Oh and the Poles. Fancy running away in Italian boats Ha Ha.

  • @TheDepotCat Asides from the many military achievments, the Ottoman Empire also advanced the sciences with many important achievments such as the Steam Turbinem and the first mechanical clock. But you wouldnt know anything about this because you are an arrogant english piece of shit who thinks the worst of anyone who isnt english. Go fuck yourself and do your homework.

  • @TheDepotCat Oh and by the way I DO NOT want Turkey to join the EU.

  • @Kingofsomething87 {{Oh and by the way I DO NOT want Turkey to join the EU.}}

Well you'll be glad to know that those European countries with Turkish immigrants feel the same way.

  • @Kingofsomething87 You havn't answered my question. If you hate the English, Should read British. Do you hate the French, Australians and New Zealanders? In the end the British didn't need to take Constantinople...But they did defeat the Turks in other battles when they got too big headed. The victory over the Allies at Gallipoli kick started Turkey's visions for an empire. The Turks pushed into the Sinai with the aim of capturing the Suez Canal and driving the British from Egypt. They failed :)

  • @JollyRodders And no I dont hate the French, the Australians, or the New Zealanders.

  • read my hole comment shithead

  • The book "Agincourt - The King, The campaign, The battle" by Juliet Barker is a good read. The paperback version is £5.99 on Amazon. {2-1-2011}

  • @HATINTHEKAT

Germany wouldn't have kicked our arse....we (the British) had tanks, that the Hun couldn't combat against and subsiquently ran off the battlefield or surrendered when we deployed them. Plus the u.s and aussies didn't have an army, the French were our only real allies, and half of them were massacred. We would have won regardless.

  • @MrDeano324 We aussies did have an army, just not a particularly large one.

  • what should i read next? ive read this, the grail quest series, the saxon tales, but now ive run out, any suggestions?

  • The British are always outnumberd and always outgunned. But we don't need numbers to win our battles and wars, we have something many don't, a togetherness and an unwavering patriotism when it seems all hope has been lost. And in the case of this Battle...alittle good old British inginuity as well.

  • @MrDeano324 thats why germany would've kicked ur ass in WW1 if u didnt have all the allies

  • Great book ! yes it was amazing what happened despite all odds...

Lets hope the film makers respect the attention to detail that Bernard is so well renowned for. . .

find us on facebook by typing - English Warbow Azincourt

  • Brilliant description

  • I read this book and I can say It is the best I have ever read. It's trully emersive and on more than one occasion I would pick it up before I went to sleep and by the time I put it down it was around 5 in the morning. Absolutely stunning. Bernard Cornwell is a pure genius.

  • i love this guy (not literally) his books are amazing

  • @Kingofsomething87 Blah, blah, blah....ENGLISH Archer!

  • @Kingofsomething87 oh piss off we won, you lost

  • @joezzzify First of all I am not French, I merely hate the English. And second of all, you may have won at Agincourt but you lost the war

  • @Kingofsomething87 we pretty much won that war. the only reason people say we lost is because of some stupid bitch that could fight better than all of frences men

  • @joezzzify You did not win the 100 hundred years war. The war was fought over the possesion of French territory and guess what? Your people were kicked out of France.

  • @Kingofsomething87 We basically won the hundred years war, the french just got lucky with some mere peasant girl. If it wasnt for Joan France would have been ours in a matter of years

  • @TalonMercenary You are mistaken. The French were victorious even after Joan of Arc was killed. Eitherway its irrelevant why they won, the fact remains that the French were able to defend their country and achieve its unity. And for that I give them my respect.

  • @Kingofsomething87 "First of all I am not French, I merely hate the English"

And what do you base that hate on little boy.

  • @JollyRodders I will ignore your impudence and try to answer your question. I hate the Engliosh because they are an arrogant people who look down on everyone else. I hate the English because they brutally colonized other countries.

  • Comment removed

  • @Kingofsomething87 Oh and BTW...I'm not English but 2nd generation Polish. England provided a sanctuary for my parents and many others after the war...as it still does for many today.

  • Great read. Desperate times brought to life with vivid writing.

  • I have read the book twice and it gives a reality to the myth, one of the best reads I have ever, well, read!! A real page turner

  • i am also reading the book, so far it is brilliant, it also seem to be very well researched, the attention to detail is brilliant

  • The copy of the book that I have is called 'Azincourt' and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I looked through the the muster rolls that were recently published and found that three of my namesakes were archers, unfortunately, not at Azincourt but on earlier 'expeditions to France'.

  • Just reading the book this video gives a good background.

    Cornwell ia a genius!

  • I just read your book ":Agincourt" and loved it. Thanks. Very interesting indeed. Surprised to see this video. but enjoyed this too.

  • Thanks.
