@WinterTroll.Thanx 4 reminding me bro.Adagio is a great band.I have that album as well.There are tons of great bands out there waiting to be discovered,just couldnt mention em' all.But i could not help myself from mentioning one band by the name of Civilization One.Does anybody ever heard of em'?The vocals sounds pretty simillar to Jens's voice.They also did some Death growl as well.If u like DE,i bet u will love CO too.Too bad they are already disbanded....:-(

@WinterTroll.Bro,ever heard of a band called SOULITUDE?They are pretty amazing as well.It's hard to categorize their music but the closest i can say is a Power/Thrash outfit with a lot of Indrustrial influence.It's like listening to HELLOWEEN,ANNIHILATOR and RAMMSTEIN all at the same time!Amazing clean vocals with occasional growls and screams.2 other great Power Metal outfit u should give a listen to is BRAINSTORM and NIGHTMARE.U wont be dissapointed.Cheers...;-)

@grimshake Well, one band I know that does it is Into Eternity. I only have their "Incurable Tragedy" CD, so I'm not very familiar with them, but you should check them out if you haven't. Most other power metal bands I know include harsh vocals sporadically rather than consistently.

Also, if you're looking for 'rough' power metal vocals rather than the smooth silky voices typical of Italian power metal, you should check out Jens's other bands (Persuader and Savage Circus), Persuader being a personal favorite. Also early-mid era Blind Guardian, as well as Freternia, Galneryus ("Advance to the Fall" CD) and any band with Nils Patrik Johansson (Wuthering Heights' "Shadow Cabinet" album is highly recommended).

@Decibelz15 Well I was referring to the rate at which they are working on the new album... but yeah Jens' work in Persuader and Dark Empire does sound a bit similar... I don't know if he actually contributed to the lyrics in Dark Empire though, from what I know they're mostly Matt Moliti's compositions.

I think Persuader's 'Eden Burns' album (which I really like) really deals heavily with the kind of thing you mentioned... as does 'Evolution Purgatory'...

@WinterTroll ...and of course 'The Hunter', although it's got a bit more of a positive tinge to it. So yeah you are definitely right, the majority of Jens' work seems to be leaning in that direction. Savage Circus I think is the exception, since their lyrics are much more influenced by fantasy and deal more with 'traditional' power metal subjects.
