Sorry to say this, but you're ignorant about this that 'thexxx1' is right, which, it doesn't count for whole spinning, it counts only for kickings. Simple math is that there are 3 mits, whatever or how many-ever he turned, he kicked 3 diff. mits. 3 x 180 = 540. In america, or out there, it's called the tricking 720 or just 720 but in south korea, of course korea because that's where this came from, this is counted 540.

Indeed. That's a different type of 540. To be totally honest, I don't know why they call that a 540 because it has nothing to do with the amount of degrees turned. I've always reffered to what you were talking about as the "tricking" 540 and the kick in this video as the "Taekwondo" 540. The kick in this video is basically three half turns. 180 x 3 = 540. After the second half spin, the third becomes the kick. That's why it's called the 540.

It's a simple matter of math. From the time of take off to the time of landing, the performer makes three half turns.  A half turn is 180 degrees. 180x3=540.

Or you could look at it as the full aerial spin he does before the kick. Then when the kick is launched, the aerial spin gives it another half turn. A full spin is 360 degrees. 360+180=540. But don't flip out over a name. TKD'ers typically call it a 540 based on the degrees turned. Others call it what you will just don't be ignorant
