@MrInsanityGaming Truthfully, nothing. Marriage in this game is similar to making an oath with other officers, occasionally you get gifts from the partner but no real changes on the battlefield except they wont betray you.

i always have zhao yun as the ruler an have him marry diao chan.. just do like 3 or 4 battles an it will take u to the bonding event right after the battle is over b4 heading back to the stradgey phase

how i got an oath was by playing a different person not the ruler then after the battle u can choose to swear an oath. about marrying idk but i think the same but play a girl instead .

You can get an oath/marriage by taking the desired person through multiple missions. After a couple months in game time you will get this scene as either the ruler or an officer.

it has to be done in mercenary missions. you have to save the officer you want to become friends with in that stage then save the same one in another mission. its could be risky like the bandits/pirates missions or w/e. if your high enough try to get the card for increasing friendship during concils (for officers). eventually you will receive gifts and stuff and eventually make an oath/marry them.
