@fetusness It's kind of like saying SSC Aero TT or Veyron. Veyron with a 8.0L W16 Quad Turbo (emphasis) and Aero with a 6.3L V8 Twin Turbo, and it's only $550,000, and faster than the Veyron. Same thing goes with a Bentley Flying Spur/ Porsche Panamera and the Cadillac CTS-V; Bentley Continental SS and GT-R.

The 5-speed auto can handle a LOT more torque than the 7-speed. It's also more than enough gears for this engine, and not like you're missing any sweet spots with "only" five forwards on this thing. I agree a manual would be nice. AMG has at least gone full-in with investing in auto-technologies, and you do get used to the tiptronics after awhile. The top-speed limit is pretty much due to limits of street tires. Any faster, and your tires will blow up at 200mph, and that never ends well.
