  • AAAAWWWWEEEEESSSSSOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE VVVVIIIIDDDEEEOOOOOO

  • it's a bit anoying that you change the vieuw every 10 seconds when your just talking. But your vid's are really helpfull thank you

  • I like how in the intro when he is revving the miles to empty drops. Must be drinking that fuel like a mofo

  • Love your videos

  • Why Almost Of Your Videos Feauturing Toyota Cars?Did You Work In Toyota?

  • @Adizero565 I work on all kinds of cars, but I mainly work on the most common ones people buy, so there's a lot of toyotas. I have smart customers.

  • this guys crazy and hilarious. SUBSCRIBED!!!

  • I have a better idea reinvent the idea a bit take a compressor and put a vintury car vacuum fitting on a hose and let it suck the cigar smoke into the intake with a hose big enough to pull a drag off the cigar then you don't have to mess with smoking. Or just go buy a cheap fog machine from the party store and hook it up to a hose on the output to the engine. Eitherway their is no wrong way to go about it. Smoking is also a viable option for once in blue moon.

  • I have a 3.8L V6 in my regal. It makes a sucking sound when its cold. I've heard others doing it, is this normal for this engine?

  • @bluebirdvision if it runs ok, that's normal, the intakes often make noise inside when cold

  • Does it have to be a cigar? Can I use a cigarette instead?

  • @MightyPhaeton sure, but cigars look better on video and make more smoke

  • @scottykilmer Gotcha. Thanks, Scotty!

  • Wow, not what I expected when searching "puffing on a big black hose"

  • Scotty, my car has a hiss at a certain rpm (1800 rpm for my 6 cylinder car) under load (4th gear). Do you think this is a vacuum leak? Thanks.

  • @mayne242 sure sounds like it, try smoking it out

  • te amo scotty ..........i love scotty ♥

  • The leak is fixed, by now my car has intake cancer

  • What if you don't smoke? I guess i could always stick the hose up my ass and blow a big fart.

  • thank you for this vid. i've had a vac leak that i've been trying to track down to no avail but now i finally have a use for those cheap cigars in the humidor

  • this huy is a fucking genius

  • since i personally think that cigars taste like crap maybe a cheap 12 volt air mattress pump with a cigar taped onto it would make another solution??

  • if he was smart he would flip the cigar and give the car a power hit.

  • Thanks for the tip man, would have never thought of that.

  • great videos and enthusiasm BUT is it just me or does this guy look and sound like steve perry from journey lol like and older aged steve perry

  • Thumbs up to that.

  • I don't smoke but I've done the same as this video in my customers' Prado..it's really worked..More thanks to you Scotty

  • when i saw you blowing smoke into the tube, the first thing i thought of is tom and jerry when tom tries smoking jerry out of his mouse hole and then jerry just calmly strolls out with a little gas mask on.

  • Is guaranteed carburetors a good source for replacement carbs?

  • @altops never heard of em, so I can't say.

  • you people promote smokeing and its not funny

  • @MrRemainsunidentifie But it is rather funny, and I'm not promoting smoking. You don't inhale, and if you don't like that, just pay a mechanic to use his 1000 dollar smoke machine as I suggest in the video.

  • @MrRemainsunidentifie some scientist say you can get lung cancer just buy living in a city with high car traffic and alot more people die from unhealthy eating than smoking also the sun can give you skin cancer.. most of the stuff they put in food and snacks may give you cancer.. drinking will damage your liver and drugs will fry your brain also overuse of over the counter drugs will damage you liver or kidneys and some people in there 90s and 80s still alive start smoke 16

  • @MrRemainsunidentifie so you see everything is going to kill you... now i do smoke very lightly only when i'm stress out but do not encourage others to do it...

  • @MrRemainsunidentifie How bout you dont worry about what other people do. Worry about what you do, people like you is the cancer of our society.

  • @MrRemainsunidentifie everybody hide! It's the "smokeing" (rofl) troll!!!

  • @MrRemainsunidentifie you dont inhale a cigar dumbass. its probably the least harmful thing you can do

  • @thecardrawer10 Blinking.. way more harmful than smoking a cigar

  • @MrRemainsunidentifie It's funny that some people find it a problem in the first place.

  • To find a vacuum leak you could spray something flammable like starter fluid around the area where you think the leak is. When you hit the right spot, you'll hear the car run rich and bog down a little. I know someone will flame me and say this is dangerous. I say, live and let die.

  • I did this same thing with a blunt XD

  • Awesome! Thank you for posting this!

  • Hey Scotty, seeing this video makes me think of the 302 in our boat. I was told it has a vacuum leak but I haven't had the chance to tinker with it being that it is winterized. Sometimes when starting, it would jump to and stay at 2K or so rpm. The throttle control isn't stuck...but yet if I I pump the throttle a couple of times, it would return to normal. It is quite unpredictable. I'm thinking the butterfly or something in the carb is stuck maybe?

  • ok cancer libs, dont smoke a cig then. im sure welfare will pay for a smoke machine for you so u dont have to do such things. oh wait, they will pay a mechanic for u. stupid me....

  • I'm sure there's another way to make smoke without causing cancer.

  • Ridiculous and helpful at the same time...

  • Smokie idea : )

  • Subbed

  • It makes me laugh how you lose a mile in fuel range just revving your car up during the intro

  • Hate all you want, but the guy has a lot of info and all of it is free.

  • Couldn't you just stick the stogie on the hose? The first time I've ever laughed at one of these videos.

  • @xorionpax it needs to be forced in, and the engine can't be running to find the leak, so No. It has to be blown in.

  • I just Subscribed aha

  • AWESOME

  • I have a p0440 evaporatimg system error i bought a gas cap reset the light after 2 days the light came back up wat should i do now ?

  • @chamirf pay a mechanic to check it out, you need a dealer level scan tool and a smoke machine to work on evap system leaks.

  • @chamirf check youre purge valve near the evap canister its usually a good place to start for a large leak . P0440= evap system large leak detecterd

  • Hey there Scotty! I'm a new car owner, just bought a 2004 BMW 320i, its my first car, it has about 117000km on the odometer, its making a pulley or water pump noise my grandfather says, could you make a video of you changing a BMW water pump and what noise it makes? It only makes the noise on start ups, you can hear it better in cold starts, I can only hear it at lower revs; under 900rpm. I really don't feel like paying 200$ just to get it checked at a BMW retailer. Thanks a lot there!

  • @kickassmotherfukker remove the fan belt that drives the water pump, if the noise goes away, that's it.

  • I have a 1946 Cadillac with the flathead V8 346c.i. My problem is the carburetor fuel bowl goes dry after sitting for a couple of days. I have swaped out carburetors, still same problem. Is the fuel evaporating this quickly? Any ideas. Carburetors have even been rebuild so there not leaking through. Thanks

  • @TheWicho46 If the carb is not leaking, and that thing's SO old no saying the carbs aren't just worn out and leaking, then your filter must be too open, which would let it evaporate from air just passing through too much. Realize the old jobs had oil saturated air filters that would not allow evaporation as the oil bath would stop air circulation when stopped.

  • Most mechanices, when such a leak is found, simply clean it well, mix up and apply some two part sealer epoxy and apply, dry, reassemble it and go.good luck!

  • Google the quabrajet bowl leak fix, so common several comapnies made "elephant butt" plugs to fix the problem. That will give you a better idea on what exactly to look for. The only true way to test the cab is to remove it, fill the bowl, bench test it, tape over open fuel line connections, vent piping, etc. the next day it should still have gas.

  • @TheWicho46

the carb base is cast when made, on the underside of the bowl some have a plug installed to close the sand casting port. These can and do come loose over time, GM carbs are famous for this. Closely inspect the carb, the underneath.

  • Awesome tip. Nice video.

  • LOL you can smoke the cigar at the end

  • surely if a vacuum hose to the throttle body has come off it would affect more than cylinder 1 as described in the video? would you mean bank 1 instead? do you have another diagnosis method for non smokers too? and without spending $1000's on a smoke machine? personally i would of used a more visual inspection if you could hear the leak at that level of noise emitted from the engine.

  • I fixed my car, but now I have lung cancer.

  • economic but it put your health at risk :(

  • @TheLightningStalker You've never smoked a cigar before have you? You don't inhale cigar smoke, you just pull it in your mouth...

  • @TheLightningStalker you win some you lose some but hay now after kemo your car will have all its power back and you should have got a filtered one

  • @TheLightningStalker next time flush the coolant radiator by peeing in...

at least you will save your liver from holding small rocks... >_0

  • @TheLightningStalker ; The nanny state (UK) has the knack of brainwashing its citizens.

40 veg eating sandel wearers gave the thumbs up.....lol

Great vids keep up the good work

  • It reminds me of an incident on a Honda CB750 when I was measuring the float level on the carbs with a $100 dollar pair of calipers, then I noticed that the floats and the idle jet lined up

at the proper measurement when a steel ruler was placed across the floats and idle jet.

  • my dad did the same thing when i couldnt figure out if my friends dirtbike crakecase is broken so my dad did the same but with a cigarette....

  • well, to save money we have to improvise :) great vid

  • lolololol

  • I thought he would say "better call saul" at the end of the video

  • Remove the MAP hose too? just saying

  • and remember folks, always shake your head back and forth until your head bounces like scotty kilmer.

  • Goerge Burns way too fix his car :D

  • lmao , at first i thought scotty was doing a beer bong out of the engine bay hahahahaha

  • I think i will take a vid of my cars new bad habbit so all may see

  • damn that is one gangster old man :D hahahahaha

  • Your name sounds familiar. Are you from the Chicago area? By the way, you look like Michael Douglas.

  • @JetMechMA na, I'm from niagara falls originally, but I went to the university of chicago decades ago.

  • i hate how he says cigar

  • God bless you Scotty Kilmer!

  • You my friend are hysterical. I will now subscribe.

  • I have a vw passat tdi it pulls like a train but when the revs top out it cuts into limp mode, dam its annoying, I can't find the cause I ahve replace the mass aiflow meter with a new one but no change.

  • @jeep200000 VWs are very complex cars, and such a problem would require a dealer level scan tool to fix. You'd hook it up, drive it, and see what data turns bad when it does that by recording it on the flight data. Yes, they are that complex, I have such stuff but always dread using it can it can get expensive.

  • @scottykilmer Hey thanbks for the superfast reply, yep I thought as much well I'm determind not to let it beat me so I'll keep looking for the fault . thanks again, great video.

  • @jeep200000 I had the same problem,Toyota Avensis Verso 2001.engine d4d diesel, visited many places and after changing all electronic discovered partially dirty catalizator.Took it off and put some pipe. Now ,from time to time I clean air inlet system with "carburetor cleaning spray".Yust take air filter of and let someone spray in while you control engine speed from inside. It works.Clean all the oil from turbine and cleans all sensors too.

  • I know, shuld i put up a video of the car kicking on its fan and light?

  • Hmm,thats another problem,is my car REFUSES to hook up to any computer,to get the codes,i didnt know if it evap it would have kicked on the engine light and the radiator fan........again it does this when i reach 40 to55 mph and then will kick the light and fan on,

  • @Akhorishaan8472 when they don't hook up, you either have a wiring problem at the link, or a computer problem in the system shorting it out. I'd start there.

  • @scottykilmer ive tested the wiring on the car for the reason it wnt connect to it and there no short, and the link has power, but it still wnt connect,

  • @Akhorishaan8472 that might almost be a ECT problem. what kind of car is it? check pin 16 on the DLC connector and make sure its 12v also pin 4 and 5 are signal wires for the reader.

  • my car is an 95 sunfire 2.2,and i think it has either a evap leak,or a bad o2 sensor,it kicks on the radiator fan ,AND the engine light when it gets to about 40-55 mph...........i can smell gas when at ideal, but oly from the back of the car,so i guessing it an evap problem,or is the o2 sensor shoving more gas than the car needs into the cylinders?

  • @Akhorishaan8472 get the codes from the engine light first, cause tons of things can do that. But O2 sensors rarely act up that that, and neither does evap system problems, they go out more at low speeds or idle.

  • @scottykilmer its hard because a 1995 is OBD1 and their was no mandated laws for generic codes. also you can use an oscilliscope and do the snap throttle/propane test for the 02 sensor. if you would like messege me and i can try and help over youtube. i am a master ASE technician and smog technician.

  • @Akhorishaan8472 if you can get an evap test done. pinch off the line going from the gas tank to the charcoal cannister. right at the charcoal cannister though like 1-2 inches before where the line connects to it. see how much leak it has if its over. but the fact your car is kicking on the fan...seems like it isnt an evap problem. maybe faulty ECT or wiring to it. when it does this at 40-55 check the temp guage and see if it drops to nothing.

  • @916MustangRacer i will try that, altho i think i may have found that it is a coolant tamp sensor that may be going out, altho my tempeture guage acts normal, cause the car will heat up to higher temps, before kicking on the fan to return to normal temp, but it stays @ normal temp when the car is moving....i think it may be a bad coolant temp.........

  • @Akhorishaan8472 I just had a fuel pressure regulator go out on my '94 Sunbird 3.1V6. Pulled into a gas station and filled the tank. Got into car and it would turn but not start. Smell of gas real strong. Chased the problem for days, no codes. It ended up being my fuel pressure regulator. 190,000 miles.

  • @JetMechMA hmmm, that might explain the smell of gas,but the strange thing is is the car acts like nothing is wrong,im maybe thinking the smell of gas might be another problem and maybe i have a coolant senser going out and the car thinks is overheating

  • Hey Scotty remember how much acid u did that night....lmao good times

  • If i get the pothead neighbors to help me will my car develop an engine running high code while its worked on?Or get hungry? If so what do i feed it?

  • chuck norris... watch your back, this scotty guy is a bad motherfucker

  • You can fix your car and get cancer at the same time.

  • Would this trick work to find a leaky intake manifold gasket on a 2003 Grand Caravan, 3.3 flex fuel? Where would I blow the smoke?

  • @JerryTaylor54 yes, it could work, use the brake booster vaccum line to inject the smoke into the manifold

  • @scottykilmer I tried, with no results. The van runs very rough, but after 5 or 10 minutes it smoothes out. After 45 minutes of running, there is still alot of water moisture coming out the exhaust. The van is getting terrible gas mileage, like 10 mpg.

  • Hissing 0:40

    Not Hissing 2:00

Oh, I hear the difference! (not). Congratulations, nice ear of yours!

  • May i have SEX with your cigar? Yeah i want to smoke it with my butt. Only a REAL MAN can do that!

  • Comment removed

  • fucking genius, i had a chevy caviler with a leak along my evap port thus i wish i had a cigar at the time to find the leak in that piece of shit car. thank god the towing company took the bitch away.

  • Im gonna do this but my neighbors will think im bat shit crazy.

  • and you can smoke the cigar when yer deun...*cough*

  • now the car has cancer u stupid idiot i dont like u anymore

  • What an amazing video this was. I dig it thanks

  • My Dodge Dakota truck has the EVAP system on it, can this trick work with that? What hoses do i blow the smoke through? I have the codes P0455 and P0442.

  • @Reddogmr57 You can inject smoke into any evap system hose, such as the one coming off the charcoal cannister that vents the evap system. there is also a small fitting made for checking the system, but it does have a schraeder valve on it you would have to remove.

  • Hey scotty, kind of an unrelated question but I recently changed the spark plugs and wires in my 1991 VW Golf and now it doesn't start. It sounds like it's going to but it just stops with a small thud. I also cleaned the engine before changing them. what could be the issue? Timing or electrical?

  • @LaxLuvr129 I would assume you messed up cleaning the engine, getting water or cleaner on electronic components. start drying em all out now with a hair drier and pray you never try cleaning again.

  • I love this guy!

  • Who says smoking is bad for you....LOL!!!!

  • Her is the kid with the 38 mile per gallon Grand Marquis on youtube. I can't put a URL in the comment box I'll give you the name of his video posts,, just if you would like to read his statement!! just put the following in the search box. I know you knew that! LOL

Grand Marquis straight pipe revving,,,,,,,his user name is cody7619!

  • Hello I have a kid telling me he gets 38 miles hwy and 28 city with a Grand Marquis 98 4.6 2 valve,, and get this he say's it's because he runs 93 octain fuel,, can you clarify this?

Thanks! The owners manual say's only to run 87 octain in this motor! What's up?

  • @James1toknow he's lying like a dog, no grand marquis will get 38 miles per gallon, period.

  • @scottykilmer THANK YOU I can't tell you how happy you responded. And by the way I have seen your videos they are right on the money I like your stuff, and I have been a do it yourself guy for 30 years no I'm not certified but I have built a lot of motors in my day. I was also told by my father that retired from Fords to only run 87 Oct in the 4.6 v2 and nothing else. I heard of issues with warranty, can you tell me anything else? Thanks

  • @James1toknow he must want to distroy his enigine bcause 93 makes it run hotter but more energy density in fuel makes more mpg like diesal enigines

  • @stingray300m I told him the very same thing but he insists he gets 38 miles to the gallon and never exceeding over 1500 RPMs LOL I told him he must piss a lot of people off trying to get to 70 miles an hour or even 45 miles an hour LOL Not to mention the head temps,, this guy is a liar flat out!! The key here is liars tell lies.. But thanks for your input.

  • @James1toknow he dont even say that he changed his heads and valves let alown pistons or head gaskets which will withstand the higher temps so that bullshit right there he says he got new a throttle body-upper intake manifold-or plunem cold intake box-h pipe exzust-flowteck mufflers-spark plugs-and/or coil coils-and some sctx3 which is probley part of the outside air intake nothing for the inside of the enigine to stand up for higher temps he could melt avalveburn apistonfryringsblowheadgaskets

  • @james1toknow like wow does he know anything about the inside of enigines but he gets 25to 38 mpg ill belive that one like a flying tv with wings smokeing a cigar the only way to get more mpg is make the car lighter and maby use diesal for the energy densidy it has and get a dohc enigine other than that theres not much more you can get for higher mpg

  • man I want a stogie now so bad!

  • i have an 86 mustang( 4 lights in the front). When i put the headlights on ,the 2 center lights(high beams) light up very dim.Is that a bad ground causing that?

  • @kevsta67 normally it is, reground em and see if they light up

  • this dude is a crazy ass mecanic .... and dont get me wrong is just that you are smart!!! dude

    !!!!!!!funny and badass video !!!!!

  • good help i just paid for a smoke test that was $80

  • Smoking is bad for you Scotty! I need you around as long as possible to give me car repair tips!

  • Sweet! Hey Scotty, My air intake hose on my Cadillac is F.U.B.A.R, as in has many holes and gaps. Does that effect the car?

  • @Theguido177 if it's the hose going to the air filter,no. If after going to the engine, yes.

  • @scottykilmer I believe it goes straight into the air filter, Explains the smell of gas when the ac is on eh. THANK YOU!

  • Is that your boss?

  • @Xx11HaloGuy11xX Yea, for a week. I road test em.

  • @scottykilmer Did you like it?

  • Great now my car has a cigar habbit. lol nice video and thanks for the tip.

  • I use starting fluid to locate vacuum leaks. Just spray it near vacuum pipes and if you hear rpm rise, youve got a vacuum leak right there.

  • I LOVE stuff like that, a client comes to you all in a tizzy and I call them a half hour later with a fixed car that doesnt cost them anything! they are SOOO happy after that I always get a tip and a ton more biz;)

  • Scotty, I am working on a 2003 yukon 5.3L, I blew in the smoke from a swisher sweet. I have codes p0171 p0174 p0101, I replaced MAF, now just the two lean codes returned. After blowing smoke into vacuum line, only smoke that came out was through the OIL FILLER TUBE, not from the cap but from the base of the tube that the cap is on. Would this be a source of vacuum leaks? Can't get emissions testing until this is fixed, the sooner you reply the better. Thanks in advance.

  • @huskermanaz often a leaking intake manifold gasket in that case, very common

  • @huskermanaz If the car draws in air anywhere apart from the intake. it can cause problems for air flow meters, the ECU doesnt see this extra air so doesnt adjust its fueling, then the 02 sensor will read the engine as running lean, and set trouble codes.

  • @huskermanaz To add to the above, some more sophisticated cars could set a trouble code if you remove the oil filler,or petrol cap, or leave it loose while the car is running, because they are supposed to be sealed systems, were all the scavenged vapors are burnt during combustion, and therefore must be metered to keep the air fuel ratio within tolerance, any addition of air will upset the balance and may or may not generate fault codes. good luck:-)

  • Wow i was waiting for some type of fuel source or something to ignite i would not recommend this.. if you have the code reader why didn't you just spray brake clean and watch the hego if voltage is high you are near your source vacuum leak and p0171 or p0174 can be caused by multiple things like fuel pump delivery system or a restricted injector bad maf sensor bad pcv vavle also seen a incorrect air filter

  • @southerncowboy30 cigar smoke is just smoke, not fire, it's not that hot.

  • I think you're likeable but annoying at the same time. Most importantly, you are informative. Nice vid, thanks.

  • 32 people use voice boxes

  • @Norv952 How helpful, who gives a fuck how much of a bellend he is, he's still very helpful

  • does it work with crack?

  • @angelasooexotic02 that costs too much money, cheap cigars don't

  • @scottykilmer hey what kind of cigar was that? Cuban?

  • @angelasooexotic02 you can use a blunt if that helps

  • this poor car must have alot of problems or else there wouldnt be so many videos on fixing it lol

  • Funny guy....subbed!

  • Youtube search:

    "how to smoke"

  • good idea...
