The lack of characterization in the majority of the bosses in NMH2 is entirely a stylistic choice by Suda51.

Well, for the time you know them some of them have a surprising amount of character though. If anything, it is maybe because the focus is much more on Travis and his journey than the individual assassins.

it's such a shame. this was probably my favorite fight in the game and in any game in a long long time. NMH was the best game ever.

NMH2 is awful in comparison. If you haven't bought it yet, I wouldn't until its down to $20. I'm angry I spent $50 on this game.

Whoa whoa whoa, why do you think it's awful? Because Suda 51 and crew actually listened to people and [SPOILERS]took out the clunky Motorcycle ( for the most part) and the boring jobs for more retro, 'fun' ones? Both games have a beautifully written script and don't take themselves seriously at all, which is why it's so good. Two had a great story, if not a little better than the first one since you're already attached to Travis and crew, but you also get attached to more now. 5/5

I loved the assassin missions to make money, I hate the retro ones. They were great the first couple times, but they get old quick. The game rushes into the bosses without any background or cut scenes to get to know them.

You're the only one to say NMH2 had a better story or even CLOSE to NMH. Also the motorcycle was a great part of the game, they originally said they'd expand on the open world. If they did that, the game would be amazing.

The assassin missions in the new one are the equivalent to the revenge missions now, sure there's only 10 of them, but you make a good chunk of money for finishing them all. The motorcycle was fun, but just like in NMH2, it's still clunky and only enjoyable for the open world aspect, not fighting.While you might've not been able to know too much about the people you're killing, you learn a WHOLE lot more about Travis/Henry/Shinobu/Sylvia.Tr­avis even says spectators don't care about those killed.

And I totally agree with your opinion Jay, the assassins in the first one had much more character than they did it two, now that's not saying that the ones in this new game had none, they just obviously had less, BUT Suda 51 made up for it with ( personally ) showing more of Travis' character, as well as his friends, because in the first one he was just a badass killer, but now he's avenging his buddy, and you can actually feel how pissed he is through the whole game,to the end.

@brandon1820 my only beef with NMH2 was that you get shafted on some of the ranking fights (although the ones you do as Shinobu you really do get to do, but unfortunately you don't get to do the ones as Henry :()

Nmh2 had considerably more fluid combat, an actual variation in fight style with beam katanas, was deceptively longer, dropped the cell shading, which imo was a good decision, and removed that half hearted open world travel.

There were more bosses with prettymuch the same balance of personality and depth (Alice Twilight, for example was more developed than say Speed Buster or Holly Summers). Bad Girl is probably still the most interesting boss in the series though.

All of her artwork depicts her as some hot femme fatale who you'd want to bang when you got to her.

When you actually do see her, she's this trashy blonde woman in Sweet lolita living under a baseball stadium executing Gimps on an assembly line with her baseball bat, which she later ignites with the flask in her dress. Her room consists of a pink couch and a minifridge full of nothing but alcohol. The floor around the conveyor belt is covered in a solid ocean of meat. She hates everything for

Some unknown reason, and sees her butchery as a 'daily grind'. She's completely insane, and even after you have her impaled she refuses to give up; and declaring victory with her dying breath. And that's just what two cutscenes tell you about her. How is that not the most interesting character in the series?

Dr. Peace is cool, but his story is about being a dirty dectective with a daughter who hates him. His Revolver fires exploding bullets.  Thats about all there really is to him.

"my ex-wife called me the other day and I met my daughter for the first time in 10 years" he met his daughter and his ex-wife but he only went with 1 person to the resteraunt, can you piece the deeper meaning to this dialogue now?

Who 'they' are and what they did is left entirely open. Why does she dress the way she does and live under a baseball stadium; and can still maintain her rank of #2 assassin?

With Peace, you can conclude that his ex-wife aren't on speaking terms, and she took full custody of the child.
