  • This I like :D

  • 0:11 Microsoft Sam :D

  • Impressive.

  • I'm not a big land rover guy but it's nice to see one actually wheeling and with a good set of meats. Great video!

  • You did well to get it up there

  • Just want to thank Stephen Hawkins for the narrative

  • chains

  • Land of Lincoln!

  • The right tires and suspension must of took a beating the thing was almost horizontal lol

  • ... it appears mud tires are not for snow... huh, whod a thought

  • I love my LR but hate that aluminum V8. i cant wait to replace it with something more reliable like the chevy 4.3

  • OMG GUYS....check out ukash415's 'land rover fails in puddle' its sooo funny! the person laughing makes me LOL so muchh ...worth checking out.

  • my corolla can do that.....lol

  • umm da wheelz look like they be fallin apart LOL!

  • Love the sound track. blub blub blub blub blub blub.

  • junk rover, get a unimog!

  • @unimog875 unimog's are not that practical yes they are great 4x4s but with a land rover you can put 6 people in it but with a unimog 2 is max

  • heh ... it kinda looks like it has a chimney on the back. :D

  • @Jesus45U The only rover with coal burning power.

  • @pearsth

You mentioned you sold it ?

So what do you drive now ?

  • @Jesus45U LOL..

  • @Jesus45U ...I think it's a mount for a .50 cal sniper rifle...

  • @TheEdTeach

he he he, good one. :)

  • WALK

  • my BMX 2x2 can do that...lol

  • @berati15 you mean 2x1? lol

  • GO LAND ROVER!!!!!!!

  • Nice driving!

  • It is like eating hot pancakes for the disco.. Little bit to hot but delicious...

  • i,d get up there in my ka

  • @goppa321 haha you have a ka???????????

  • what snow?

  • land rover the best

  • I sold this vehicle a while back...see all specs at the URL discoweb.org/tompearson/ (cut and paste into your browser address bar)

  • What model of tires do you install?

  • Skilled driver.

  • Suzuki gonna make it!

  • stephen hawking is filming!

  • what is your lift and tire combo?

  • 1:13... i can feel the excitement

  • good driving, not a lot of places a land rover wont go!

  • im so glad i got this as my first car

  • my ford maverick would do that (with new tires lol)

  • lock your diff you stupid yank

  • @bongalo420

I can't see any point in the video where it looks unlocked...

  • @bongalo420

Detroit Locker Rear, TruTrac Front. I don't think the front ever was disengaged during this climb, you do, however, have to sometimes tap the break to engage it if a wheel is in the air.

  • Very nice piece of driving, prob' would have gone 1st time if the tyre pressures were set lower, maybe around 18 to 20 psi.

    Well done tho.

  • my ford could do it

  • suzuki samurai series ....would have past at 1st attempt !!!!!!

  • @tudorino66 i really doubt it this is were the landrover's axle articulation helps it.

  • @godzillaisnuclea123 LOL....U DONT NEED ARTICULATIONS ....U NEED A GOOD CAR !!! LOL

  • it was good but i wanted to hear more of steven hawkins

  • @T88JNY hahaha now that you mention it i realise it too.

  • that driveway looks like a bitch to go into each night coming home from work....

  • @easye1973 lmfao

  • I was thinking about going here in a 95' Toyota corolla, hittin' up the slopes hopefully.

  • should have strattled the ditch with tires on both sides if it was possible no?

  • a celera mano

  • you had to try it that many times to make it? I coulda made it the first time with the line I see.... jesus.... amateurs haha.

  • @qwadboy

About 1000 lb. extra. It's not uncommon to see Ram equipped with 5-th wheel assembly towing trailer loaded with 6 cars.

  • @qwadboy

Very good until you compare to Rams 7.8 tons

  • @zrvpvo8789

They will tow more , just in the Uk the maximum towing limit is 3.5tonnes so they put 3.5tonnes as the max towing load

  • @MrBeastandtheharlot

UK towing limit has nothing to do with mechanical limitation of Defender. It's tow and payload capacity not even close to Dodge Ram that for specifically designed for such purpose. It's heavier with by far more powerful power pack.

  • @qwadboy

Granted some Americans buy full size pickups for no reason. Others can't afford buying and maintain Rovers so they chose US made trucks.

On the other side - do you really believe you can carry or tow as much with Rover?

  • great truck

  • I own a 2003 Disco since May, 2006, with some factory warranty remaining, and I used it only for a oil pan leak fixing. I heard a lot of bad comments about LR, but, believe me, you have to own, and dialy drive one of this magnificent vehicles to learn what´s the real quality in the SUV market. I agree about the extra money needed for scheduled manteinance and for some minor repairs, but it worth it.

  • stephen hawkins hahaha!!!!

  • nice, but i have to say my disco 3 would of done that easiy

  • very impressive driving.

  • Цепи на колёса и в лёгкую прошёл бы. Да и вообще кто суётся в такие дебри без спец. оборудования!

  • FYI dont stop in snow just keep a nice steady throttle and gas it out some when going up hill. you stop.... you get stuck

  • How much lift do you have on your Land Rover Discovery?

  • my god its ugly

  • Schon mal was von V O L L G A S gehört??

  • search "How NOT to 4x4" to learn something because you never drove offroad

  • Nice video ! It look like an ATV trail but you manage to climb it !

  • my shogun would never do that............mainly because i wouldnt try..as i know it would fail

  • nice job

  • What a mess you made going up there. I'd hate to have to go up behind you. But at least you got to see all the scenery, I suppose.

  • what's the lift on that landrover?

  • Snow always adds another level of difficulty.

  • My modded suzuki samurai pick up would get up through there.. good effort, good video its all about patience. :)

  • iv gotta say my hilux wud neva get up that 1!!

  • @MrHorty88; it wont go up that untill you install a lift, some good suspension and most important - tires..

  • @MrHorty88 Is it really that hard to actually spell out what you are saying.

  • @LandRoverWay23 Idiot....

  • @MrHorty88 you never know till u try

  • @MrHorty88 oh you just need some bigger tyers i'm sure it could!

  • amator driver

  • MMMMMM LRV8

  • Hes pampering it too much.

  • What size tyres are you running?

  • I love Landrovers but prob. wouldn't buy one: surveys apparently show poor quality. Wikipedia:

    last: US J.D. Power Survey 05;

2004, dethroned Kia as least reliable nameplate, swapped places in 2005.

August 2006, last place, J.D. Power US .

last: 2006 Consumer Reports (US) survey.

second last:2007 Consumer Reports (US) survey.

    Maybe they've improved?

  • Well you could buy a Honda for reliabilty but I don't think you are going to go where this LR went. LR's may have more problems than other makes but doesn't mean they are breaking down on you everyday. I have owned 3 of them and I was never left stranded. Owning one is worth the little problems they give you. And they have a great support group online. Something breaks, you go online and ask what to do and you can usually have an answer in 10 min. I will never own another make of SUV.

  • Good points, scrolex. Just watched Clarkson's Range Rover on the Top gear Bolivia special and that held up well!

  • @scrolex I love your answer!!!!!!

  • i have a 99 and i havent really had any problems with it. we got it for 1000 dollars with 124,000 miles on it, had no transmission- got one for $600 and works like a dream, it had been sitting for months and started right up, it had small problems that easily were fixed, (door latch stuck, bulb out, things like that) they arent bad cars if you treat them right

  • my dads landrover discovery 1992 has done 180,000 miles no sirvices and always starts 1st time any problems can normally be fixed in mins it ttook him 20 min to replace a altenator yesturday

  • i agree, i have a 2000 disco and its great, be better after some SSR tires and arb air lockers

  • I like the old discos better than the new fancypants mall wagons they are building now.

  • what kind of engine, is it stock?

  • Да блокировки диффов великая вещь

  • nice technique! you have obviously had expirience in the snow!!!!!!

  • I've had my V8 (97) for two years. It has simply never let me down. What can I say? Just service them and look after them.

  • just get a landrover 90

  • He guys I am thinking aout buying a 2001 Land Rover Discovery for a winter vehicle. Can you guys let me know the pros and cons and what to look for when I purchase this SUV. I would really appreciate it...

  • its not an SUV firstly

  • i bought a 2000 disco about 5 months ago, and to be honest, i havent found any cons yet. absolutely fantastic vehicle.

gas mileage isnt it the greatest but you have to remember, it is a 10yr old V8 SUV with the aerodynamics of a brick, lol.

just make sure you get a decent set of snow tires to take full advantage of the AWD.

  • one of the best diesels i have come across is the first generation powerstoke. all though the chevey 6.2l diesel was tougher than nails it just didnt have enough power unless insainly geared

  • Grunt under the hood would have only hurt you there that is where your technical driving comes in i call it tallent but the chevy and ford pickups were made with alot more suspension travel and fram twist thus putting the tires to the ground providing four wheel traction

  • i think I have the same exhaust setup as that haha, it sounds REALLY similar

  • what a pile of shit you take an old chevy or ford and it would have walked right through that

  • rofl.

you don't know about land rovers.

  • Your old chevy or ford is built for Americans, i.e the need for technical driving skill is just replaced with lots of grunt under the hood, unfortunately the vehicle dimensions are massively widened to cater for the typical American backside which effectively prevents their use on the narrow backwater byways found in Europe whereas the LandRover excels.

  • check out toyota arctic truck. made for norwegian, swedish and icelandic conditions.

  • actually pickups really lack sufficient weight at the back to provide decent rear wheel traction, i do like them though americans know how to make good engines, afterall the rover v8 in that discovery originates from buick, lovely engine, iv got a discovery td5, probably the nicest diesel iv ever come acxross, love v8's though :)

  • he appears to be a little stuck... lol nice vid

  • a tires its very poor :(

  • good discovery!!

  • does it have lockers?

  • i love the sound of these ones you can tell they have had there engine modifield or some some sort of diffent engine to the normal dicovery

  • Comment removed

  • cool!

  • what kind of tires are those? And how many inches of lift does that disco hav? I recently purchased a 95' disco and want to do some upgrades

  • Nice truck, what year is it? What kind of lift kit and tires do you have on it?

  • i wish i had a landrover id show up all those rednecks with their giant peice of shit trucks

  • Ford v8? are you dumb or something?

  • its an exhaust system

  • sounds really good. must be ford v8

  • its a Buick v8

  • It is a Rover V8. Crappy Buick? I don't think so.

  • Actualy Buick built the motor and wouldn't use it. Landrover bought it and put it in a ton of NAS landrovers. I have the 3.9 in my 94 D-90 and in 95 and later they changed it slightly to a 4.0. But yes it was an old Buick Block and Internals.

  • this is how you break things....what ever happend to tread lightly

  • Hold the camera level, straight, and calmly! Damn!

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds Good I got a 1995 Discovery And Looking For A Good exhaust What Do You Think Would Be Best For It

  • that is a flowmaster 40 series

  • long live V8 discos

  • somebody has lockers

  • what are lockers?

    sorry for the silly question

  • lockers are in the front and rear differentials and lock the gears so that all the tires spin together instead of power going more to one tire

  • thanks for the answer

    =)

  • listen the first vioce

i didnt know stephen hawkins was an off-road nut....

  • I don't think jeeps can go over that spot no matter how professional of a drive u r.

  • What size are those tires? Thanks.

  • 33x10.5 Super Swamper TSL's

  • what are they like on the road?

Look pretty decent in the snow

  • On road the Discovery 3 is brilliant - don't take my word, find a Land Rover Experience Centre and try one out

  • @pearsth Very nice driving man. But... next time you make a nice movie like this tell your cameraman to keep still.

  • Lush sound!......Almost porn :-)

  • do you know what tyres those are? thanks

  • Is there any place in the USA that specializes in fixing and reselling those old Land Rovers?

  • Sweet! do you have a video of your X doing this, i wanna see...........no really, oh no video.. ok nevermind

  • Land Rover is the best

  • My X could do that anyday

  • a land cruiser pull that out ha they are a pile of shit, disco is the best

  • go landrover we will win

  • will win what? lol

  • prety good spotter, but he kind of left too early hence him not making it again..

  • you stupid bastard!

  • thank you

  • What snow? There's like 2" on that trail.

  • It's good to have a spotter. Either way, I visually "scout" the surrounding terrain first.

    02' Disco - stock.

    Very pleased!

  • The voice near the begining sounds like Stephen Hawking!

  • what kind of tires are those

  • BF Mt/R

  • why is everyone saying good driving.. as he backs into a snow bank.. yeah awesome driving. without the spotter this guy would be standing next to his truck in tears waiting for a tow

  • get that pile of shite up there, jesus...

  • screw you land rover is better than hummer and jeep together

  • true but you could buy a wranlger and a hummer h2 for about the same price as a range rover

  • Horsepower Profiles. Com
