@sladesyd nice try buddy, but actually an average of .5% of americans join the Marines, and the army itself it SIGNIFICANTLY larger...throw in the other branches and you have well over 1% ...and if you even had the slightest idea as to what it takes to actually become a marine...what it takes to live day to day as a marine, you wouldn't even compare the other branches to us.
@sladesyd if you want specifics, the Marine corps size wise is about 205,000 personel...the army is currently sized at 1.2 million enlisted alone (not encluding officers)...sorry...but the few the proud has been given to the marines for a reason.

@sladesyd - NO - The Few, The Proud absolutely SHOULD NOT be used for all of the military. The few part signifies the small percentage of EVERYTHING the Marine Corps has...Marines, budget, gear, etc. The proud is reserved for something special that those who have never stood on the yellow footprints will ever ever understand.

LOL at all you arguing about the various branches. Having been in the military myself, I can tell you that all branches tend to do training together for their vocational or "specialty" training. Hell, I was Army and on a Navy base and did school with Navy, Marines and Army....there really wasn't much difference when it came to the PT as I watched all three (sure they do it separetely, but they were all good people and great to drink beer with).

Fallujah-army backed out after getting bombarded by insergeants, army called fallujah "a lost cause" ...marines took it back in 72 hours.
