  • What a lot of people don't know is that Brotha John was a member of the Moorish Orthodox Church Movement, as Jazz was the revolutionary music of his time. With that being said, I just wanted to convey to the reader of this memo that he was conscious of the times, and his emotions reflected in his music. He was aware of his history here and abroad as a Moor and so was Bro. Miles, which is why he wrote sketches in Spain, which was a tribute to the Moors from antiquity. Think about it. Hotep!
