all trucks have speedos calibrated a truck with new tyres will always overtake a truck with well worn tyres simply because the tyre circumference is greater so hel think according to the speedo hes going at 55 when infact he may be at 56
@curryhousekarl actually you are wrong, the speedo is calibrated for new tires. therefore the truck with new tires and an accurate speedo calibrated to that tire size, final drive ratio and output ratio will be doing 55 when he's showing 55. the truck running on worn tires or smaller tires than his equipment is calibrated for will be travelling slower than his speedo is reading.

I always drive 5 over on the highway, passed God knows how many troopers and never a problem. No one has ever been able to show me a ticket for 1 over, without other violations with it. I have a friend who's nephew is a trooper, said when they raised the speed limit to 65 for trucks a letter was sent to the barracks to give trucks to 70, any thing over is a ticket, no warnings.

Ohio seems to take a long time to drive through in part because you go soo slow. Many areas seem to slow. Maybe they plan on you making more stops if you spend more time in Ohio.

You can get away with speeding in the south. The downtown connector in Atlanta ... speed limit is 55 for all traffic. Traffic FLOWS at around 70. On most North Carolina highways, you usually won't get pulled til you do 7+ over. And I-95 through Florida ... do Flordiots KNOW what a speed limit sign is?
Once I was driving down the 35 south between KS and MO and the speed limit was 65mph but I was going 75mph, although a truck driver passed me so fast .. I was shocked !!

if u were going 65 (the posted speed limit for cars), I can guarantee you there would be 5 times as many cars passing you as # of trucks that passed you in this video. this has happened in every state Ive been in (and Ive been in about 20 states). Hardly anyone drives the posted speed limit. Maybe in whatever state your from, things are different that the majority of the US.

@dollebanaan The usual weight of trucks tractor and trailer combined with no load is about 40000 to 45000lb. Without a load, the trucks engine torque will ne in the tracor alot more than whats needed to pyull the trailer. So with the max weight of 80000 lb. allowed in ohio, thats a extra 40000 to 35000lb that the torque of the engine doesn't have to pull.

Check the GPS for your real speed. The "clock" will add about 10% to your real speed, that is mean that you are driving to slow not they too fast.

I'm from Ohio and wondering why you was drving 55, LoL. I know technically heavy vehicles like semi are suppose to drive 55 but any time I get on a highway like I-71 you either know where your accelerator is or stay in the slow lane out of every ones way or your going to get ran over, lol!

You can get away with speeding in the south. The downtown connector in Atlanta ... speed limit is 55 for all traffic. Traffic FLOWS at around 70. On most North Carolina highways, you usually won't get pulled til you do 7+ over. And I-95 through Florida ... do Flordiots KNOW what a speed limit sign is?

Once I was driving down the 35 south between KS and MO and the speed limit was 65mph but I was going 75mph, although a truck driver passed me so fast .. I was shocked !!

I always drove 60 in Ohio and never got pulled over. Now that the speed limit is 65 on the interstates in Ohio, I see dumasses going 65 on four lane highways that are still 55.

Well it was 55 mph for semi trucks and 65 mph for cars

the most countries in europe we cant drive faster then 80 km/h (50 mph) but we all drive here 95 km/h because our trucks here are limited to 95 km/h thats like 60 mph

@TheBagger57 Indiana is worse than Ohio. If you go more than 2 - 3mph over in Indiana, they chase you down like you are a felon. Ohio lets you go 5 over. Indiana cops lie. I got pulled over in LaPorte county on RT 30 and the bear gave me a ticket for 70 in a 60 even though I was doing 65. My truck was governed at 68.

if u were going 65 (the posted speed limit for cars), I can guarantee you there would be 5 times as many cars passing you as # of trucks that passed you in this video. this has happened in every state Ive been in (and Ive been in about 20 states). Hardly anyone drives the posted speed limit. Maybe in whatever state your from, things are different that the majority of the US.

@dollebanaan The usual weight of trucks tractor and trailer combined with no load is about 40000 to 45000lb. Without a load, the trucks engine torque will ne in the tracor alot more than whats needed to pyull the trailer. So with the max weight of 80000 lb. allowed in ohio, thats a extra 40000 to 35000lb that the torque of the engine doesn't have to pull.
