@lostinbossiercity You're a goof. Quit talking out your ass. It's designed and built by Kangaroos and Koalas, shipped up to North America where it gets a bumper and interior slapped on by McDonalds employees in the States and polar bears in Canada.
why are american so proud of the ls1 ls2 etc... like it is some engineering marvel, it is a single cam engine still using push rods with two valves per cylinder, for fuck sake they only just discoverd alloy and ecu controled ignition, if it wasnt for the size of these engines they would go like crap, not that australia has made a better engine! but still ls1 ls2 etc... is nothing to be proud off
@lcurtizz I believe your opinion of what I have or havn't been educated in is irrelevant. "Boost" can be applied to larger motors aswell as smaller. Like I said, there is no substitute for cubic inches.
@ironmanmuso The term is stating that bigger is better. A smaller motor can push out as much as or more power than a V8, with or without boost. Less stroke - more revs. Why do you think they use small displacement engines in Formula 1, back in the day with top fuelers and gassers, and now supercars. Not saying that I won't love a 500cid Caddy, but a big engine is becoming a dying fad.
how come every time i look at a video of a nice GTO, all i can see is comments about how it's actually a Holden, and not even American.. and blah blah. WHO THE HELL CARES. it's badass. extremely badass. If it's muscle, sounds like that, performs like that, looks like that, i don't give a damn where it's made to be honest.
@holdenls1ssz250 okay i obviously understand that you're upset about it. not my fault. that still doesn't exactly explain why people have to make comments about it on youtube all the time. i just find it really annoying because i could care less if it's american or australian, it's awesome.
@Sammerron As of 1931, Holden is a GM Subsidiary. As of 2005, Holden is known as GM Holden LTD. (OWNED). General Motors is a company based in the US. As Holden is owned by GM, everything said subsidiary creates is also created by GM (AND STRICTLY MONITORED/APPROVED BY GM). Being an American company, this car is an American car whether it's created in Australia, Canada, Mexico, or Detroit. You all talk shit about the US, and I would die for my country. Im sure many others too, so stfu aussies TY
@mtwut This car is not at all strictly monitored and approved by GM. After the GM takeover, Holden took charge of GM operations in Australasia. So basically, holden took charge of holden... The car is innovated, developed and manufactured in Australia. A parent company and subsidiary are seperate entities. Just because the majority of ownership is american, it by no means implies that the product is american. FACT- it's an aussie car. Piss off and concentrate on proving that pasta's american...
the aussies are just looking for credit, thats all. it's an american ls2, on an american platform. if it was assembled in aus., that just means you negros were willing to work cheaper than our americans. now stfu and enjoy the car, you kangaroo chasin fucks
@mtwut hahaha Us "negros" are willing to work for less? Are you out of your fucking mind. Waiters in america rely on tips because their wages are so appalling. Additionally our dollar is worth more than yours dickhead so it wouldn't even make sense to defer the assembly process to australia. It's an Australian platform. Dont'believe me? Wikipedia wil even confirm it for you. Why the fuck would america design and engineer a platform that initially didn't even go on sale there?
its australian, we get it. its still a cool American muscle car with an VERY American powerplant. just leave it be -_- im tired of everyone B&Ming about its origins not being American if somebody even whispers those three letters...which are Italian by origin...
Can I just say, it doesnt matter if Australia or America made this car... Holden is a part of GM which is an American company. Sure it started out as a car exclusive to Australia... made in Australia... but a lot of the technology came from America for it and thats just the nature of the car. Stop your fruitless arguing and just agree that this is one incredibly simple car that fits a niche market extraordinarily well. Peace.
@Darkrampage001 There is no IQ requirement for posts on youtube... Your boy Sluterry would fall in to the same category as most of the "Yanks" posting.

I'm glad my video could cause such spirited banter!
To all those Aussies: The Holden Coupe 60 concept is absolutely beautiful (correct me if I’m wrong but it also has an LS power plant?), and I think our redesign of the commodore is pretty damn sexy. Did the Holden version of the car fix the wheel hop issue? I had to add drag bags to get it to hook right.
@MadCowieee Tha'ts what the concept is, but i'm sure when the production model comes out it (if it does) will be at least an LS3. If you remember the Concept Camaro, they boasted a 400 hp V8 (assumption was that it would be an LS2) and of course it ended up being the LS3. Either way the car will be bad ass.
WE get the american built engine and REDESIGN it and put it in the AUSTRALIAN made car with AUSTRALIAN parts on the heads and AUSTRALIAN suspension and AUSTRALIAN engineering and AUSTRALIAN ingenuity, the Pontiac model is a dumbed down slow version of the AUSTRALIAN beast and ours has stricter emissions standards to contend with which shows how crap USA engineering really is.
@hoarebags Well you are correct it was pretty much stock. I had put drag bags, intake, corsa exhaust, and I did one hell of a tune on her. My best time was a 13.2 on some crappy sumitomo's... It is an "Aussie Muscle Car," but every time I opened the hood, all I ever saw was LS2. It didn't say Aussie made push rod 6.0 L V8 anywhere on it... ;) One thing’s for sure. These cars and the new Camaro's are a great drive. Thanks for all the comments gents.

@Muff0 was it built in adelaide? i live near and my grandfather use to work at the langlang testing grounds where they tested all holdens. And i use to always see the pontiac on the highway with a big "left hand drive" sticker on the back. And the camouflage VE before it was released.
@Muff0 lets see GM chassie GM tranny GM Motor and its aGM owned company...where is GM head 1/4s ? IN AMERICA nobody should care about a badge its the same damn car get overit already damns
@telecaster31 umm its a Holden Monaro rebaged and sold in America as a Pontiac GTO, do some research, and we are from the country that made the car, so we know. The engine is GM, which is American, but the actual car is Australian
@jfoulstone alright well why dont we ask the actually person that owns the car what it is.....o ya he lives in america....its a gto any way you slice it. ya you guys might have made the car. but so does pontiac. and dont tell me to go research when you prob just went to wiki cause you couldnt stand the fact that america stole your countrys only prize
@telecaster31 umm, i didn't need to go on wikipedia because growing up this was my favorite car and i did plenty of research on it. Also, if you really knew your stuff about this car, you would know that its assembled and made here in Australia, just re badged and exported to America and the UK.
@Muff0 which is a GM product. All you guys do is slap em together. All the tech is American, but it's ok. keep dreaming that an Australian engineered it.

if america was so much better this thing wouldnt stand a chance against the camaro or the charger and well it eats both of them.
@sluterry Sorry but my new camaro eats my old GTO. Yes the GTO looks like a Pontiac Sunfire on steriods. Why the charger? Do you mean the challenger? Also what Australian parts are "on" the heads???
are you kidding you know that little about engineering and emissions controls your going to ask that?
lets jsut say only the blocks come from america, fuel system and heads are Australian, hell why would we build the blocks when we have cheap ignoramus american labour to do it with?
just like 80% of shit NASA uses today is Australian and German, Americans cant engineer for shit, and no i meant charger.

@sluterry you have yet to answer my question, instead you have spouted the same shit again. I did the work for you because your are too retarded to know the difference. And, lastly, the L76 intake comes complete with a 90mm throttle body, fuel rails, and 39 lb/hr fuel injectors. Do you guys have the new Camaro yet?
@sluterry Also your "Aussie Heads" are just L92's... sooo in the end your special aussie engine has L76 intake (ENGINEERED by us), L92 heads (yup us again), and the LS2 Block (should I? YES by us again). Your next episode of Diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain comes..... NOW
@390Camaro lol u are basing all of that on the GTO that you can purchase in the US, its a different car to what we have here, we get more power out of it than you yanks can, you know nothing of the actual monaro that the gto is based on.
@sluterry I can't even argue with you. I bring actual tech info to the table, and all you can say is "you don't know what we have, your cars are shit, our cars are better." Paraphrased obviously, but you are ridiculous. All the info about the Monaro I found said it has the same power output as the GTO with the exception of the special models IE HRT 427(only 2 were sold), and vauxhall monaro VXR500 (British version that was on Top Gear). I'm ready for your next spout of bullshit now...
@bluecocker yes holden is owned by GM,, but all holdens are built and designed by Australians in Australia.
