depends on how they do it, it could be as simple as changing the look of gas and giving it different effects on your sack boy (slowing them down, allowing them to float up).

but think about it, would the water fall? or hovor in shape? if it fell, would it spread out like real water? what materials would float and sink? they would have to rewrite the whole game pretty much, would sponge absorb water? how long could sackboy stay in it? there are all things media molocule would have to think about. it wouldnt be a patch, it would be a whole new game

Exactly, it depends on how they do it, every thing you mentioned is not needed for simple water effects, they are mostly cool things that could happen with the water.
