I've started to listen to a fair bit of Aussie rap and I was very surprised at how good much of it is. I love Urthboy and Phrase and many others. Its great stuff. Its fantastic that they included that in this documentary.
I don't know what I sound like in my videos but I can't have as bad an accent as Julia - the ten pound pom who should have that amount refunded and sent back home! In any case in twenty years English will be gone as we will all be speaking Mandarin unless we collectively grow a set.
And I don't think we'll be speaking Mandarin. Most immigrants actually do make the effort to speak English and their children usually always speak with an Australian accent - of whatever variety.
My parents were immigrants and I definitely speak with an "general" Aussie accent, bordering on the "broad Australian accent". And proud of it!!
This is great!!! just can't stop watching it. very informative and it reminds me of my time in Australia :)
