Star Blazers was not the first anime series to come to the United States. Yet, it was the first anime series to become very popular series in the United States. Not all viewers of the series around 1980 or 1981 were children. Actually college students were likely the main fans of the series. Speed Racer did came out in the late 1960's. I remember parts of the series. It was presented as a serial on the channel which I watch it on.
It's funny seeing people complain about video quality..You kids now days will never get to see what we had for TV.. A whole 6 channels over the airwaves..We did not have cable when I grew up...
Its like watching a nintendo nes version of this instead of high def. Why dont you post some decent quality of this cool show? The animation was really good and deserves it. This isn't Gigantor you know, the video quality matters.
It started off really good, but it got to be like Battlestar Galactica (the 70's version), good at first then repetitious and going nowhere. No different then 95% of the rest of the stuff made for TV I guess.
lets start a potition to get star blazers back on the air cartoon network refused to buy the rights because they didnt think there were enough fans
well lets show them wrong and start spreading this message we need to come up with a message and one of thos symbol things tho so if u see a good one send it to me
lets get this thing going so start posting this thing every where on youtube and if you know someone from cartoon network o even nickelodean get them involved or maybe even tv land
Not enough fans?! This was one of the greatest anime series of all time! How can they think that? You draw up a petition for the SciFi Channel, Aaron. I'll be the first to sign it.
@theaaron0 Actually William Street put it online. They never put on TV for whatever reason, maybe the one you stated, lack of interest. But they were showing episodes on the web way back during the peak of "Toonami, Midnight Run and Rising Sun"
That is sweeeet. Wish I had thought of doing that. I would watch this every morning before class when it was on TV. This cartoon got me hooked on SciFi... In my vid response you can see evidence of SG :P Thanks for what you have created.
my dad has all the ummmm watcha macallit?? the box set and has a bunch of episodes i lied about my age to watch nasty vids on youtube im 10 and my accounts 22 lol! but i like that big lazer cannon thing on the yammoto or yamamoto or however you spell it but i realy like star blazers

Television going off the air at 11:00 PM, no remotes, rabbit ears, tv aerials on every roof. Kids these days just don't know.

How about sending a message to Hulu/YouTube as well? Hulu already has Voltron, SB would be a great addition as well.
