As a piano player whos been playing for 15 years, this is definitely not sped up. There are tons of songs (go look at chopin's songs) which up the strain and speed on both hands a lot more than this. Still, the speed of the chords here is very impressive.
@rockermanmatt An idiot? I'm an experienced listener. There's no feeling to this - it looks snappy and dis-membered, that's why I think it's sped up, it's a strange video like it or not.
Please just view luckyluca99 - Luca Sestak's videos for real feeling and fast playing.
That was freaking awesome! You don't need to emphasize your age, that was good for any age. Way to show up in my related videos and make me look like a chump. ;)
I wouldn't see why he'd have it sped up ... It isn't like lightning fast or something, this is perfectly possible for him to play. I'm not saying it's slow or bad though, don't get me wrong xD I just don't see that this is sped up <_<
9 months later, thought I'd chime in ... you can look at the keys springing back up and it's obvious there's no alteration on this video. Just pure talent!
look at how choppy the hand movements are, especially when he takes his hands away moves them to the next section of notes. he definitely has talent but this is sped up for sure.
The reason people think its sped up is because your hands are moving alot quicker than the camera frame rate per second can handle which is causing the slight jerky image so take it as a compliment. You whooped your camera!
Very well done... you play with confidence and life, and even when you hit a note that you didn't mean to, you work it into the song almost perfectly. Keep it up!
Great stuff, im sixteen, i play jazz and boogie too, woo! (hi five). try c blues as well as a on the c chord, a\nd maybe the notes of the chord to make it more varied, but it was fab as it was really (:
WOW really Good. I am 16, And I play Blues too. You are great for your age. A couble things to work on are not hitting multiple notes at the same time when unintended. Blues scale is great. try to stray from the cliche 12 bar though. Definitely a great performance. 5/5
Yeah, there's nothing here to criticize. Great performance!! I wish I could have played this well when I was 15! Hell, wish I could play this well now!
Wow that was amazing! I'm also 15 and I've been playing for about 8 years now and I'm nowhere near this good. You have an amazing talent I really hope you take it further when you're older...you definitely have a career. Congrats!! :)
Well... the way ur hands are moving it does kinda look like you sped it up... I play piano, too but I play mostly classical music, and I play at weddings.
no I know that... I was trying to prove a point...lol..I know you didn't speed it up ..it is clear you are avery good ...Excellent pianist actually with some heck of a talent..I was trying to send a note to people who claimed you sped it up..sry about that..but I know that you did not speed it up keep up the good work ; )
Not trying to deny your skills...you're obviously talented...but did anyone else think that it looked a bit like it was sped up...? Just saying...kinda looks like some time-altering
just to tell you, i think if he had sped it up the sound would have been all weird. i mean when you speed things up, doesnt the soudn become all high pitched? correct me if im wrong. also, if he sped up the video but not the sound then it wouldnt fit together.
It isn't sped up at all; as someone pointed out, when my hand moves away from the keys it isn't moving at a fast rate. You probably won't believe me anyway but if you take my word for it, the video is completely unaltered :)
I believe you. Check out LuckyLuca (14), BoogieWoogieKid. Ammons, Johnson and TucsonAZmatt who can all rip the keys off a keyboard. Keep it up!!! Fantastisch!
@tbone1der8 Don't be stupid deep down you know this isn't sped up you just need something to justify your jealousy towards this fantastic piano players talent
lomaxxf3,start off with a slow blues first- simple left hand . You can pick up left hand riffs everywhere, loads to try. I'd recommend u start there, and do blues scales over the top. Try changing the scales round a bit to make it interesting, then build it up.
I'm really into blues/boogie/jazz piano, and started it off with a rock'n'roll jive piece, listening to Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis. Have a look at them
Very good boogie piano btw
Boxfann- ever tried it on a yamaha concert grand...
When i was 16 i starded playing but you have got the groove already kid this is really really really good. would love to play with you i think we have got the same taste !!
Thank you for your gift of music. Everyone who watches this should feel blessed that there is still creativity in the world. Keep playing strong and don't quit. Music can make one hell of a difference in someone's life. ^^=
wow! can you explain what kind of stuff you do in boogie piano? I play piano and got into jazz playing. Boogie sounds and looks fun. I tried to play around and create a boogie sound, but I can't do it! help!
I Thought That As Well This Young Man Has Got So Much Better With His Timing Aftar Watching Him Back When He Was 13 Years Old On His Old Videos The Improvement Is Amazing
Are you genuinely improving? As in you just sat down and played that on the spur of the moment? Or have you been playing around with those cords for a few days or something like that? Option one, you're one of the most talented people out there today. Option two, still got mad skills, but your creative output rocks more, and I love it either way!
Nice!! well done! =D

If you use really generic software, yeah it will mess things up, but you can use just about anything to change speed while retaining initial pitch.
tbone1der8 2 years ago
But why would I go to such an extent to just make people think I could do something that I can't? It is just pointless.

@tbone1der8
It's easy to prove it isn't sped up. If your an expirienced player you will know yourself that it's harder to play it slowed down then with speed.
If you play it fast you can make a few minor mistakes and it wont notice if there isn't somebody listening who has a trained ear.
Also it's alot harder to play slowly hence the technique has to be 100% accurate, that's not the case when you play it faster.
This isnt sped up ^_^
