I love the tempo this is played in. Eugene Ormandy conducted it this way. All of the other renditions I have heard (such as the one in the movie "Love and Death") take this at breakneck speed. Who is conducting?
@gilgamess I agree about the tempo; the Eugene Ormandy recording was the first exposure I had to this piece, and it seems to me Ormandy's conducting was even more deliberate. He let the music pound out its natural rhythm and didn't rush it. Too many conductors crank up the tempo and the piece begins to sound ludicrous, This recording takes me on a journey the way the Ormandy recording did. Thumbs up!
@Sveccha93 That's correct. Melanin is the body's mechanism to protect us from the constant direct bombardment of solar radiation. Where sun is a commodity, melanin isn't as important. Through generations upon generations, the DNA keeps the configuration that works for the future generations. We are all born on the same planet, under the same skies, and with the same chemical composition. It's good to find a like-minded individual who understands his species and values logic.
I really love Prokofiev and I really love this suite ! Sounds somewhat like an orchestral Graveland album (greatly arranged, for sure). Absolutely powerful and barbarian !

I love Prokofiev's dramatic pieces. They make you feel like you're having an adventure.

@talo91 Hey at least you're trying, don't worry, it'll come with practice, keep doing little snippets like this.
To be more on topic, I rather love this music, Russian composers have a very unique skill that all of them manage to share in an odd manner.
