Sounds like progress then...but does it matter what genre your in...isn't that the point of Post-modernism? Artists no longer feel the need to belong to an ism, follow or break the rules and conventions of the past just to advance Art.
And if Post-modernism has ended, then that would imply that we artists are in a new period? Post-Post-Modernism? Again does it really matter? I just make Art.
No it doesn't matter what label we have placed on art and yes we should just make what we feel expresses ourselves. But I'm not sure we'll not see post-post modern because as you say we should drop the whole ism's. Each artist now should surely be taken on there own merits and not boxed into clearly defined isms. My own work fails to be impressionist, abstract, realistic or traditional, yet also does all of them a little at the same time. Pinning that down to an ism confines the art.
man, i know what you mean. you make the art and it takes all you have and then they want to take all you have and make you do tricks to have anybody look at it. arf.
By real artist do you mean the kind that sits in a booth, makes flying heart paintings and sells his work at the local fair? I am sorry, but I break a few more rules than the laws of perspective...and I do know the rules. Next time don't insult me on my video and I'll play nice.
I'm inpressed you actualy took the time to read my artist statement and actualy look at my art. By insult I ment that insulting a real artist is like taking a punch to the face. I like the dicription of sitting a booth crap too. I feel tat way sometimes.
you should mount the brush on a stick up high so that the boxing glove could hit you in the groin and as you bend over in pain the brush on the stick could smack a canvas on your back. what do ya think? pretty good ehh?
There are "Heavyweight, middlewieght, & lightweight" springs, which dictate the punch stength...the heavyweight can hit pretty hard and the lightweight is pretty weak. I change the springs periodically throughout the 12 round match.
Thanks, but I do it in the name of Art as commentary on what it's like to be an Artist. What I suffer in the ring as a performance is nothing compared to the toll on the body during construction, which took months and lots of $. And the abuse doesn't end when the piece is built and the performance is over...public opinions such as yours...
Maybe you could make a version with a custard pie on the end.

I think post-modernism may be over. Because this is exactly the kind of thing I expect artist to do now.

Why must art be so complicated xD

Seems like an awful lot of punches to take for so little paint applied to the canvas. I'm glad you thought of it and not me.
