Very good point. They absoluteness (is that a word) of Mises's doctrines are the main reason I don't call myself an Austrian. Well after the part about never studying economics.
They disagree on some issues, but I think there's enough common ground on the major issues that they would be able to work on together. The funny thing is that Ayn Rand hated libertarians.
And I quote "Libertarians are a monstrous, disgusting bunch of people: they plagiarize my ideas when that fits their purpose, and they denounce me in a more vicious manner than any communist publication, when that fits their purpose. They are lower than any pragmatists, and what they hold against Objectivism is morality. They’d like to have an amoral political program."
@thejobloshow The Irony is that I responded to your video, in the same tone in which you made it. And you are accusing me of being mean, whatever just another crybaby liberal.
You are the douche plain and simple. If you want to be taken seriously why don't you actually take part in a logical debate instead of just making ridiculous and stupid videos that attack something you don't agree with. You might learn something, don't bother replying because I am not going to waste my time on a simpleton like you.
@Richman6625 Ninja actually makes a valid point here, depending on your economic view. Austrian economics is, traditionally, associated with libertarianism as much or more than economic liberalism. Austrian economics maintains that neoclassical economics is useless, that it cannot make testable predictions. In this regard, many prominent libertarians actually do reject the scientific method, mathematics, and empiricism when it concerns economics.
@NinjaJedi You are stating your argument with out any substance to back it up, if you want to be taken seriously you should back up the claims you make, if you can't than I will just write you off as a bitter statist who can't accept that they're paradigm isn't working.
@NinjaJedi Fine all I am asking you to do is back up what you are saying, & maybe ditch the bitter & hateful tone of your posts if it's possible to do that too, that would be great. You haven't stated a case so far. So far you have just stated that libertarians don't follow science and that we follow superstition. There are many who would disagree with that assessment. What are your facts? What science are you talking about? So far all I have heard from you is ridicule that is not science
I'm not the one who has to defend your's ideologies.
I've already backed up what I have said and stated what science I'm talking about. Instead of relying on denialism try to actually put some real proof as to why free markets are preferable methods.
@NinjaJedi No, but if you are going to try to discredit something you should at least state your case, not just tell me you are right and I am wrong without stating anything to back it up. Basically you said I am wrong, believe in fairy tails, but haven't told me why. If you are going to attack an ideology, you have to back up what you say or it is just hot air, which so far is all you have said. Do me a favor if you are not going to make some sort of case, don't bother me anymore.
@NinjaJedi You still aren't saying anything. How is my ideology based on metaphysics? I have heard many libertarians quotes statistics, and make quite rational arguments as to why it would work and why the current system is failing, it sounds to me you are just trying to dismiss something you don't like.
"I have heard many libertarians quotes statistics, and make quite rational arguments as to why it would work and why the current system is failing."
Have those studies employed any form of empirical study? How did they reach their conclusions?
As for why I call libertarian economics metaphysics it's quite simple. They're both a branch of philosophy concerned with explaining the fundamental nature of being and the world.
@NinjaJedi First off, you ripped that definition of metaphysics straight off of wikipedia. Second, economics is a branch of social science and not philosophy. Third, no economic theory or social science has ever attempted to "explain the fundamental nature of being and the world". Fourth, there's no such thing as "libertarian economics". You're thinking of economic liberalism.
@B10N3KW34S3L I didn't mention metaphysics except in response to Ninjajedi, by asking him how libertarianism is "metaphysics" While it has never really been tested, except for the early years of the USA, and it seemed to work well than, but the world we live in has changed since than. I just feel that respect for the individual to live his life free from interference from the state and the respect for private property are just and moral stand points.
The problem isn't that individuals shouldn't be allowed to live their lives, etc. etc. etc. It's that libertarians believe the government should, essentially, allow people to starve to death on the notion that individuals will act more charitably. This is counter to the proven worth of welfare spending, and the proven economic stimulus that giving money to the poor brings with it.
@NinjaJedi I don't know why don't you ask them. Your idea of libertarianism is way off. It is not a religion, it is simply a belief in personal freedom, that given the chance people can manage there affair better without the intrusion of government, I don't know what that has to do with religion or "metaphysics"
@Richman6625 I have no idea what Richman is going on about "metaphysics". Libertarian ideology makes testable predictions...iiiiin theory....and would fall under normative or "physical" ideology. I'd suggest he, and probably you, figure out what "metaphysics" actually means.
Anyone can cite statistics, criticize the failings of our system, and propose new ideas that sound good. The problem is that, in order to test libertarianism, you'd have to completely uproot society first.
@B10N3KW34S3L Keep in mind it was the Austrians, accurately predicted the crash of 2008, the Keynesians just laughed at the prospect, based on their batting average I know who I will believe.
@Richman6625 What are you talking about? Almost every economist and numerous politicians saw the 2008 downturn coming from a mile away. Unfortunately for the Austrians, the stimulus package actually succeeded in, well, stimulating the US economy out of a recession. The Austrian technique of "ignore it and hope it will go away" didn't seem productive.
@B10N3KW34S3L Well all the big 'financial advidors' on TV laughed when Peter Schiff predicted the crash in 2008. You can consider laughable but they did, and it seemed like it was based on some fairly basic logic. The idea or ideology of Libertarianism, is basically in a free market there is more prosperity and therefor more opportunity for people to take care of there basic needs, but it is up to them to do so.
@Richman6625 I don't care what they people on tv have to say. Try talking with real economists sometime.
So the assumption is that we ought to enact a laizzes-faire economy because it's "more" prosperous. More prosperous than what? Marxism? That's a given. Mercantilism? The same. How about the modern mixed economy? All empirical evidence says "no".
Also, simply because I disagree with you about the logical conclusion of libertarianism doesn't mean I'm ignorant of its meaning.
@B10N3KW34S3L Again I hear people quoting statistics all the time, and it is all contradictory. I get that you know what Libertarianism means, I just don't think you are up to speed on why it would be better. I just fail to see how government robbing a 1/3 of people incomes and than giving huge breaks to major corporations makes wealth for anyone but the super rich. Have you read Mises?
@Richman6625 Good! We both agree that forcing the tax burden on the middle and lower class is a bad thing. How libertarianism aims to rectify that, I don't know.
@B10N3KW34S3L It is not about ignoring things and pretend they go away. The problem is government mandates for easy credit. That among other things created the crisis. The Austrians are saying, well it is bad, but if you let the market recover it will do so naturally, but the injection of cheap credit and debt is just making the problem worse over time. The market needs a natural correction, not to be propped up. Let the to big to fails fail, and other institutions will replace them,
@Richman6625 I'm sorry; but saying "we should just let the market self-adjust" sounds an awful lot like "ignore the problem and it will go away". How precisely does one let the market self-adjust when the market is the problem in the first place? Also, do you have any evidence of the effect of these so-called "mandates"?
I agree with the latter statement, but you're confusing stimulus with bailouts. You'll notice that the recession, officially, ends one month after stimulus spending began.
@B10N3KW34S3L The recession ended for who? Unemployment is still huge. The market saying the market is the problem is very simplistic. The problem was government meddling in the first place. Wasn't it government meddling that led to people who shouldn't have loans getting them?
@Richman6625 For the US, or are you not aware of the definition of a recession? The economy is growing rather than receding, ergo we are no longer in recession.
...or predatory lending practices? Did you forget about all of that?
@Richman6625 By the way, the notion of Austrian economists predicting anything is laughable. By their very ideology, they consider it impossible to make any economic predictions. An Austrian economist making an economic prediction is an economist who doesn't like that whole "Austrian" bit.
Dude, if you're going to put other people down for not being as smart as you are, it's usually a good idea to use correct spelling and grammar. On that note, I need to read all those Murray Rothbard articles I have bookmarked sometime. Maybe after I finish today's homework.
I was just thinking that there wasn't enough socialist bullshit propaganda and disinformation on youtube but then I came across this video. You even managed to throw in the obligatory Ayn Rand reference. I was a little disappointed that you didn't go for "NO REAL LIFE WORKING EXAMPLES OF LIBERTARIAN SOCIETY EVARLOLOLOL", though. Good job, none the less.
Someone must've gotten you good n' butthurt in a debate down at the gaybar for you to start throwing around the "H" word.
@SpiderWhiteYT Well, look who's shown up. Seems I did forget to mention the Somalia jabs. "Lie"-bertarian. That's cute. If there's one thing you Democrats love more than slandering Republicans, it's attacking Libertarians. What's wrong, run out of Tea Partiers to call racists and bigots? You Dems simply can't stand it if there exists any sort of opposing view to your party of socialist liberal authoritarians, can you. It's not even the liberal part that bothers me, it's the rest.
@upinarms79 Tea Partiers show themselves to be bigoted and/or racists whenever possible, no matter their skin color. They make themselves look terrible by electing idiots like Christine O Donnel and chasing out sane Republicans from the party. "OMG, YOU ARE RINO! GTFO MY PARTY!" I hate you clueless fucktards because you shit on what it means to be a libertarian and Conservative while some of you leech off the government anyway. Go lose more seats for the GOP. Lol
@SpiderWhiteYT I'm not a Republican and I'm not a Tea Partier. I just find it disgusting how most of you go out of your way to perform character assassination on them and demonize anything and anyone associated with their movement. I'll even wager that you have no idea what the actual Libertarian national party platform is outside of OMG RAND PAUL, AYN RAND, SOMOLIA, NO GUBERMENT TROLOLOL.
@upinarms79 Tea Partiers carry signs of Obama dressed up like the Joker and in spite of his countless attempts to work with them. They spit in his face and call him a socialists. Now that's character assassination, not to mention you are doing the same thing yourself. You are not only a hypocrite, but an idiot. Congrats. FYI, I used to be a right-wing Libertarian, although; I was never a fan of Ron Paul or Ayn Rand.
@SpiderWhiteYT That's an interesting point you bring up. I'm sure you're aware of the fact that members of left-wing groups have been found infiltrating Tea Party rallies to hand out false propaganda, carry purposely stupid, racist and inflammatory signs for the sake of defamation. Obama is, by his own definition a progressive socialist. You can call me names all you want but that doesn't make me a hypocrite. I also doubt that you "were" ever anything than you are now; A troll for the DNC.
@upinarms79 Are you trying to say the Tea Parties who demonize democrats and all liberals are plants? Does that mean you are a tea party plant? He also called himself The Joker too, right? And you slandered me and an entire group of people you don't even know, so how doesn't that make you a hypocrite?
@SpiderWhiteYT Of course that isn't what I'm trying to say, but you know that. That is your way of doing things, though, isn't it? "Never give them an inch, don't be afraid to drag them through the mud, and remember; truth and intellectual honesty don't sway public opinion". Is that the mantra you live your life by? Also, since reading comprehension isn't apparently high on your list of priorities, I'll say it once more: I have never had anything to do with he Tea Party.
@upinarms79 Honestly this boring, so I am ending this. Look, you are basically accusing an entire group of people you don't know of demonizing people. If you want to be taken seriously then stop engaging in hypocritical behavior and acknowledge the truth, that both sides engage in character assassination, otherwise; people will think you are an idiot or a troll. And if I am a troll for the DNC then you are a tea partier.
Also it should be noted that the examples of Socialism and Libertarianism I just gave are both what I'd consider to still be Progressivism in general. At the end of the day, both ideologies strive to create a fair environment for the public, they just argue that they should be done in some different ways, but they do not want any sort of corrupt government ruling the country.
And Ayn Rand is just an imbecile, I hate the fact is she even remotely attached to Libertarianism.
I think the Libertarian chic are Tea party members because I heard TP people use Ayn Rand (Rothschild's mistress) references. This confuses me because her dead end philosophy ascribed to do things for your own good never mind your neighbour.
So when you pull it full circle the Tea Party's religious side is in conflict with their philosophy.
Libertarians that you recall as the US founding ideology would not be the same because people always like to change meanings of things.
@69AfroThunda69 Actually the US was mostly founded on Socialist ideologies. I mean, look at what the Founding Fathers had in mind - a nation in which the government worked FOR THE PEOPLE in every aspect, a nation in which the ruling bodies were there to do good for everyone and the government's only reason for existing was to make sure the common man had a fair chance in life. The government would help people who were wronged or born with the odds stacked against them. It's very Socialist.
@Romansteel13 I think we can tell from my initial post it was a typo, and that I know how to spell ideology, but thanks anyway for the correction.
I refer to general, those that have help those that don't, socialistic ideology rather than any specific political/economic. Many people I speak to don't even get that communism and socialism are not the same thing, let alone that there are many forms of socialism
I was responding to the term 'slutty' which, to me, has nothing to do with drugs.
Slutty has everything to do with drugs. You think Lilo, Hilton don't snort coke before they fuck? Are you that naive my child?
"Many people I speak to don't even get that communism and socialism are not the same thing"
You are still talking in broad generalizations. What kind of communism?
What kind of socialism?
Fabian Socialism? Keynesian Socialism? Marxism? Leninism? Libertarian Socialism? You really give me the impression, that you don't know what you're talking about.
@Romansteel13 Perhaps it hasn't crossed your mind that our cultural backgrounds lead us to have different understanding of the term 'slutty'?
As for "Many people I speak to don't even get that communism and socialism are not the same thing" - I suggest you ask the right wing people who bandy these words around as if they both only mean dictatorial government who wants to steal all your money and take away all your rights.
Socialist economics are the economic theories and practices of hypothetical and existing socialist economic systems.
A socialist economy is based on public ownership or independent cooperative ownership of the means of production, wherein production is carried out to directly produce use-value, usually, but not always, coordinated through economic planning and a system of accounting based on calculation-in-kind or labor-time.
I understand you have the IQ of a neolithic troglodyte.
Everything idiot. Seems to me you need to be educated in dense socialism and Marxist communism. The Hegelian dialectic, where the Czar of Russia were overthrown by the Bolsheviks in the October Revolution in 1917. The Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks both allocated (stole) everything from the middle-upper class. And gave it to themselves, there was never an all poor under communism. The Rich Bureaucrats under Lenin had EVERYTHING. MORON.
Might I add that someone who uses fallacious arguments, "lol" in debates, and thinks someone with the handle "ninjajedi" is a representative of Keynesian theory had no credibility to loose in the first place.
Nothing wrong with liking Pokemon, my son loved it. The premise which I was trying to elucidate for you, since you cannot grasp simple thoughts. Was that Kids like yourselves have no place in debating ''Keysnianism' however you love to call it :).
Another lie? Your history lesson was a terrible allegory. Especially considering the interpretative nature of history. You can save so much trouble if you can relate the economic theories of John Maynard Keynes with worker ownership of the means of production.
I can only tell you to look up Danith's law on google. (telling you upfront would spoil the fun.) It's similar to Godwin's law of debate, or Poe's law of fundamentalism.
I'm not fixated with it, you are parading around with your pseudo-intelligence, yet you invent words as if you were Shakespeare himself. Your pomposity and hypocrisy knows no bounds.
"I'm glad I never found Danith's Law must be some kind of trolling parody of a law."
When did Godwin and Poe suddenly not become parodies of law. (Me thinks you didn't read the article on Danith's law.)
Before I get into an argument on linguistics (is this the point you attempting to make?) Keynesianism is a noun that predates this debate. Unless you can prove otherwise you aren't going to make a point.
It isn't much of a debate when both sides are winning...
@NinjaJedi "Name:Derp Channel Views:4,161 Total Upload Views:23,089 Age:27 Joined:March 27, 2006 Last Visit Date:1 hour ago Subscribers:24 About Me: Inside Jokes Country:Israel" LOL. I understand now, you're just a troll, living with your parents with no education whatsoever. Bahahahahaha. I actually believed you had some underlying knowledge in Socialism, or 'Keysnianism' BAHAHAHHAHAHA. As soon as you said 'Keysnianism', you lost all credibility. I regard you as a stooge of youtube.
Someone who allegedly went to UC Berkeley can't even answer a simple question on ideological comparison...
"The original Greek word "idiotes" referred to people who might have had a high IQ, but were so self-involved that they focused exclusively on their own life and were both ignorant of and uncaring about public concerns and the common good."
I said having sex is natural, I did not mention drugs. Maybe we have a different understanding of the term 'slutty', but to me in refers to sex and has nothing to do with drugs.
Let me clarify
2 )I know jack about those people = Lindsey Lohan, Hilton or any other 'celeb'.
I will presume you are being sarcastic, what with me having no interest and knowing jack about Hollywood.
As much as you hate the Right-Wing, you can't deny the fact that right-winged women are more conservative and less slutty and prone to drugs than the Lindsey Lohan, Hilton left-wing nut jobs.
@69AfroThunda69 And in comparison, Libertarianism is more about limiting government intervention in society. It's different from what the US founders had in mind, really, because the Founding Fathers believed in reasonable and balanced government regulation to ensure freedom and fairness, Libertarianism is a bit in the opposite direction and is based on the idea that the people should take care of their own problems as much as possible and that government should intervene as little as possible.
@69AfroThunda69 So in conclusion, the US founded on the belief that you could exist with government provided the government had the best interests of the public in mind. Libertarianism argues that this is an impossibility because the government would eventually become corrupt no matter how good the intentions were, so the best way to avert this is to limit government and let people handle their own affairs as much as possible, but NOT to the point of anarchy or any nonsense like that.
I'm a big supporter of Austrian Economics but I have to admit that this video made me laugh. I could make a video for Keynesian's if I wanted to, but there would be way more than 7 ways to spot a Keynesian..
libertarians are a bunch of motherfuckers that have infiltrated the Republican Party, sons of whores like Ron Paul and his demon spawn are in full swing to take over and the mainly retarded jesus freaks are to stupid to see
I have always been a Republican since moving from Ukraine and I cannot stand cunts like Ron Paul, Glenn "rape murder girl in 1990" Beck and the tea party cunts
Why would I want to live in a collapsed SOCIALIST Islamic state such as Somalia. If I was a Marxist, I STILL wouldn't support superstitious religions. However, Judeo-Christianity seems to be a lesser evil to "Liberal"-Muslim ideals.

Richman6625 1 year ago
@Richman6625 Sorry, I meant to say "ninja".
B10N3KW34S3L 1 year ago
@NinjaJedi I don't know why don't you ask them. Your idea of libertarianism is way off. It is not a religion, it is simply a belief in personal freedom, that given the chance people can manage there affair better without the intrusion of government, I don't know what that has to do with religion or "metaphysics"
Richman6625 1 year ago
@Richman6625 I have no idea what Richman is going on about "metaphysics". Libertarian ideology makes testable predictions...iiiiin theory....and would fall under normative or "physical" ideology. I'd suggest he, and probably you, figure out what "metaphysics" actually means.
Anyone can cite statistics, criticize the failings of our system, and propose new ideas that sound good. The problem is that, in order to test libertarianism, you'd have to completely uproot society first.
B10N3KW34S3L 1 year ago
@B10N3KW34S3L Keep in mind it was the Austrians, accurately predicted the crash of 2008, the Keynesians just laughed at the prospect, based on their batting average I know who I will believe.
Richman6625 1 year ago
@Richman6625 What are you talking about? Almost every economist and numerous politicians saw the 2008 downturn coming from a mile away. Unfortunately for the Austrians, the stimulus package actually succeeded in, well, stimulating the US economy out of a recession. The Austrian technique of "ignore it and hope it will go away" didn't seem productive.
B10N3KW34S3L 1 year ago
@B10N3KW34S3L Well all the big 'financial advidors' on TV laughed when Peter Schiff predicted the crash in 2008. You can consider laughable but they did, and it seemed like it was based on some fairly basic logic. The idea or ideology of Libertarianism, is basically in a free market there is more prosperity and therefor more opportunity for people to take care of there basic needs, but it is up to them to do so.
Richman6625 1 year ago
@Richman6625 I don't care what they people on tv have to say. Try talking with real economists sometime.
So the assumption is that we ought to enact a laizzes-faire economy because it's "more" prosperous. More prosperous than what? Marxism? That's a given. Mercantilism? The same. How about the modern mixed economy? All empirical evidence says "no".
Also, simply because I disagree with you about the logical conclusion of libertarianism doesn't mean I'm ignorant of its meaning.
B10N3KW34S3L 1 year ago
@B10N3KW34S3L Again I hear people quoting statistics all the time, and it is all contradictory. I get that you know what Libertarianism means, I just don't think you are up to speed on why it would be better. I just fail to see how government robbing a 1/3 of people incomes and than giving huge breaks to major corporations makes wealth for anyone but the super rich. Have you read Mises?
Richman6625 1 year ago
@Richman6625 Good! We both agree that forcing the tax burden on the middle and lower class is a bad thing. How libertarianism aims to rectify that, I don't know.
I have, but I don't think highly of him.
B10N3KW34S3L 1 year ago
@B10N3KW34S3L It is not about ignoring things and pretend they go away. The problem is government mandates for easy credit. That among other things created the crisis. The Austrians are saying, well it is bad, but if you let the market recover it will do so naturally, but the injection of cheap credit and debt is just making the problem worse over time. The market needs a natural correction, not to be propped up. Let the to big to fails fail, and other institutions will replace them,
Richman6625 1 year ago
@Richman6625 I'm sorry; but saying "we should just let the market self-adjust" sounds an awful lot like "ignore the problem and it will go away". How precisely does one let the market self-adjust when the market is the problem in the first place? Also, do you have any evidence of the effect of these so-called "mandates"?
I agree with the latter statement, but you're confusing stimulus with bailouts. You'll notice that the recession, officially, ends one month after stimulus spending began.
B10N3KW34S3L 1 year ago
@B10N3KW34S3L The recession ended for who? Unemployment is still huge. The market saying the market is the problem is very simplistic. The problem was government meddling in the first place. Wasn't it government meddling that led to people who shouldn't have loans getting them?
Richman6625 1 year ago
@Richman6625 For the US, or are you not aware of the definition of a recession? The economy is growing rather than receding, ergo we are no longer in recession.
...or predatory lending practices? Did you forget about all of that?
B10N3KW34S3L 1 year ago
@Richman6625 By the way, the notion of Austrian economists predicting anything is laughable. By their very ideology, they consider it impossible to make any economic predictions. An Austrian economist making an economic prediction is an economist who doesn't like that whole "Austrian" bit.

Good job, none the less.

SpiderWhiteYT 1 year ago
@SpiderWhiteYT Well, look who's shown up. Seems I did forget to mention the Somalia jabs. "Lie"-bertarian. That's cute. If there's one thing you Democrats love more than slandering Republicans, it's attacking Libertarians. What's wrong, run out of Tea Partiers to call racists and bigots? You Dems simply can't stand it if there exists any sort of opposing view to your party of socialist liberal authoritarians, can you. It's not even the liberal part that bothers me, it's the rest.
upinarms79 1 year ago
@upinarms79 Tea Partiers show themselves to be bigoted and/or racists whenever possible, no matter their skin color. They make themselves look terrible by electing idiots like Christine O Donnel and chasing out sane Republicans from the party. "OMG, YOU ARE RINO! GTFO MY PARTY!" I hate you clueless fucktards because you shit on what it means to be a libertarian and Conservative while some of you leech off the government anyway. Go lose more seats for the GOP. Lol
SpiderWhiteYT 1 year ago
@SpiderWhiteYT I'm not a Republican and I'm not a Tea Partier. I just find it disgusting how most of you go out of your way to perform character assassination on them and demonize anything and anyone associated with their movement. I'll even wager that you have no idea what the actual Libertarian national party platform is outside of OMG RAND PAUL, AYN RAND, SOMOLIA, NO GUBERMENT TROLOLOL.
upinarms79 1 year ago
@upinarms79 Tea Partiers carry signs of Obama dressed up like the Joker and in spite of his countless attempts to work with them. They spit in his face and call him a socialists. Now that's character assassination, not to mention you are doing the same thing yourself. You are not only a hypocrite, but an idiot. Congrats. FYI, I used to be a right-wing Libertarian, although; I was never a fan of Ron Paul or Ayn Rand.
SpiderWhiteYT 1 year ago
@SpiderWhiteYT That's an interesting point you bring up. I'm sure you're aware of the fact that members of left-wing groups have been found infiltrating Tea Party rallies to hand out false propaganda, carry purposely stupid, racist and inflammatory signs for the sake of defamation. Obama is, by his own definition a progressive socialist. You can call me names all you want but that doesn't make me a hypocrite. I also doubt that you "were" ever anything than you are now; A troll for the DNC.
upinarms79 1 year ago
@upinarms79 Are you trying to say the Tea Parties who demonize democrats and all liberals are plants? Does that mean you are a tea party plant? He also called himself The Joker too, right? And you slandered me and an entire group of people you don't even know, so how doesn't that make you a hypocrite?
SpiderWhiteYT 1 year ago
@SpiderWhiteYT Of course that isn't what I'm trying to say, but you know that. That is your way of doing things, though, isn't it? "Never give them an inch, don't be afraid to drag them through the mud, and remember; truth and intellectual honesty don't sway public opinion". Is that the mantra you live your life by? Also, since reading comprehension isn't apparently high on your list of priorities, I'll say it once more: I have never had anything to do with he Tea Party.
upinarms79 1 year ago

@69AfroThunda69
Libertarians that you recall as the US founding ideology would not be the same because people always like to change meanings of things.
pmlc8 1 year ago
I don't get it. Wasn't the US founded on Libertarian ideology? It all makes sense to me.
69AfroThunda69 1 year ago
@69AfroThunda69 Actually the US was mostly founded on Socialist ideologies. I mean, look at what the Founding Fathers had in mind - a nation in which the government worked FOR THE PEOPLE in every aspect, a nation in which the ruling bodies were there to do good for everyone and the government's only reason for existing was to make sure the common man had a fair chance in life. The government would help people who were wronged or born with the odds stacked against them. It's very Socialist.

@metalfaust19 Off topic, but 'cuse me while I laugh heartily at right wing, 'patriotic', 'Christian' Americans.

Spelled ideology by the way. There are sixty-variants of socialism. More than half are applicable in a regime, supporting National Socialism.
"There is nothing wrong with enjoying sex - it's quite natural you know"
Yes, because that was the premise I was trying to imply. Try again, buddy. I was referring to the drug habits.
Romansteel13 1 year ago
@Romansteel13 I think we can tell from my initial post it was a typo, and that I know how to spell ideology, but thanks anyway for the correction.
I refer to general, those that have help those that don't, socialistic ideology rather than any specific political/economic. Many people I speak to don't even get that communism and socialism are not the same thing, let alone that there are many forms of socialism
I was responding to the term 'slutty' which, to me, has nothing to do with drugs.

You are still talking in broad generalizations. What kind of communism?
What kind of socialism?
Fabian Socialism? Keynesian Socialism? Marxism? Leninism? Libertarian Socialism? You really give me the impression, that you don't know what you're talking about.

"Keynesian Socialism"
Boy what are you talking about?
NinjaJedi 1 year ago
@NinjaJedi

@Romansteel13

MORON.

@69AfroThunda69 And in comparison, Libertarianism is more about limiting government intervention in society. It's different from what the US founders had in mind, really, because the Founding Fathers believed in reasonable and balanced government regulation to ensure freedom and fairness, Libertarianism is a bit in the opposite direction and is based on the idea that the people should take care of their own problems as much as possible and that government should intervene as little as possible.
metalfaust19 1 year ago
@69AfroThunda69 So in conclusion, the US founded on the belief that you could exist with government provided the government had the best interests of the public in mind. Libertarianism argues that this is an impossibility because the government would eventually become corrupt no matter how good the intentions were, so the best way to avert this is to limit government and let people handle their own affairs as much as possible, but NOT to the point of anarchy or any nonsense like that.
