supposedly two plates shifted I lived in hawaii during the time...lost power at like 730am didnt get power back to the evening,i was on oahu...still had work too (cheeseburger waikiki off ala moana st.) we had no power so we sold bagels and the rest of the beer...couldnt make anything else...there was actually 2 earthquakes...still have the honolulu advertiser front page "HAWAI'I RATTLES,THEN LOSES POWER" ill never forget
ha yea man you near their? we were right beside the double tree and like a block from the hilton hawaiian village, corner of alamona/kalakaua hey the beer/mix drinks were cold till about 10am and the bagels were room temperature ha
Yeah, I guess it did suck but I got to be honest, I enjoyed the experience. I think we got our power back around the same time, which is when this time lapse ends.
Super cool vid! I was there... we were living up on Po'ola St. when it happened... I was sleeping and next thing I know stuff was falling of my shelves and the lanai off my room was shaking.... it wasn't as bad on Oahu as on the Big Island but we didn't get our power back until 5PM the next day.
i was sleeping and then i heard a rumbling, next thing i kno, my room was a mess and my parents ceiling fan fell off on top of them. No one was, hurt... Till they steped on broken glass
Where were you? I was up at Maleakahana camping and was woken up by the ground shaking. I was hungover but had to get up because we were camped next to the sea and I was worried about a tsunami.
That video was awesome! The day itself.. not so awesome. I drove around this whole island looking for just one cup of coffee! the quake hit so early that I hadn't made mine yet and I had no instant! Horrible day! LOL!
Actually a friend of mine suggested the idea. Battery life was the main limitation thats why it is in segments. For the final segment I fell asleep outside on the lanai and was woken up by a heavy rain shower. The rain shower appeared to trigger the final area to regain power, which included my apartment. Strange.
man this is better than Vancouver.

There wasntt a tsunami, was there? If there was, I think I'd hear it in the news or something... Great video!
