  • Im an operator of the Acela and to my knowledge this looks fairly close to Boston past Rhode Island. We can go 140-150 for 18 miles between providence and junction 14, but once were past that we slow down to 55-75 depending on how much train traffic there is.

  • It's clearly not anywhere near the New Haven-Boston sector, it's clearly south of NYC. Look at the catenary poles. If you operate the Acela you should know that there are very few sections wider than 2 tracks from New Haven to Boston. In many cases it's 3 tracks not 4 or 5. The E60s pretty much hauled the long distance trains and the metroliners only ran from NYP-WAS. Are you sure you drive the Acela? I certainly hope all Amtrak drivers can point out the differences of where they operate.
