  • Hello Lorgain.Hope you see this reaction. This is realy very, very beautifull.Thesong the voice and the violincello. I am looking for more songs of Roisin O`reilly, but cannot find anything. Is there a cd?

I also discovered Niamh Parsons because of your channal. Thanks for that. She makes my life richer, a lot.Mayby a present back to you. Look for the Dutch Anouk. Different, but also loaded with emotion. See her song "love" on you tube, a video with a beeting haert. Thanks for any info about Roisin.

I love this song are beautiful

    if anyone knows please comment!

  • What an excellent version of this beautiful song!

  • Verses 2 and 4 are new to me! Can anyone tell me if they are part of the original, or an addition? And does anyone know what the "beetle" is? I am familiar with "beadle;" is this an alternative spelling? It can't really mean a bug, which is how this spelling is used today. I am just learning to sing this and I am so interested to hear these extra verses.

  • @EMesaros I can only offer a vague recollection of folklore that a beetle's horn had something to do with inducing sleep. Whether this a euphamism I can'tsay

  • @flanncada Hm! How interesting--so it really is abug after all! Thanks for the information--I can't wait to tell the guy who sings this with me.

  • What a lovely voice....mesmerizing

  • Thanks for sharing this, well worth a few listens

  • Laganslove thanks for the comment.

  • What a great version this is..I like the cello part half way through...

  • Thank you dalymac.

  • Ah! So far the best version I've heard. Both light and deep - not too heavy, and not too cheesy or uncontrolled.

  • Thanks for the comment, you should go to the maureenderry Site and listen to Maureen Hegarty`s version.

  • I actually have heard that version, and frankly, I prefer this one. A little less scooping and not quite as slow. It doesn't mean I like Maureen's voice any less, though, hehe.

  • Yip, beautiful. She's doing a concert in Galway in a few weeks - 15th of May. Hope she does some of your picks, really special - love Has Sorrow the most though. keep on posting! Dan.

  • Thanks Dan will keep scouring my ancient recordings hope to continue posting.
