If you really want to safe guard you stuff jump through the hoops to get a gun in your baggage then you bag gets special handling. It would be hand carried by a TSA official who will put it on the plane and it will get the same handling when you get off

And then if you get stuff with something in the luggage, you look even worse cause you put a lock on the zippers so it looks as if you put it in there before locking it...you should consider that before putting stuff like this online, it ain't helping anyone but those with bad intentions.

They are harmless and cannot be triggered by some "mysterious device". Do not even talk about it to the air company, probably ask them a "worried" question when you drop the luggage saying "I am bringing electronic components here. Will they be damaged by the atmospheric radiation"? Good luck arriving to your far-away workshop!

And that is the reason I use my Army issue Duffel bag. Put a real pad lock on top and zip tie. They have to break the zip tie and cut the lock to enter the bag with anything other than a flexible wand camera. Then again I prefer driving to my destinations anyway. I detest flying since 2001. I know all the security is "for our benefit" But I remember when you could fly with a pocket knife. Just think. One box cutter vs 40 passengers who were armed! Box cutter looses.

I remember when you only had to worry about the baggage handlers either stealing from your luggage or just destroying it. Watched a full-sized passenger jet get unloaded at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta back in the mid 70's. The guys in the cargo hold threw all of the checked luggage down onto the ground. They didn't just like toss it underhand either. Always wondered how suitcases got so beat up looking. Would have made a great video.

I had a old model black gigaware ipod charger in my bag while i carrying my white ipad and ipod charge in my carry on bag on a trip to costa rica. But when i got home my old gigaware ipod charger that was in the suit case was gone. I was pissed cause my friend told me that this kind of charger he couldn't find at radio shack anymore. And the charge worked better then the white ones along with the fact it was more durable.
