Brostep: Some-what categorized as "Americanized-Dubstep, becuase you can't have deep bass feeling in an open area because technically speaking there is no solid walls to bounce the deep bass so "non uk" artists started to produce high-frequency midrange to counter act that so it sounds like "Bass". I'll never understand how guys like Skrillex and Datsik can be called dubstep . "Dub" - a from of reggae music popularized by King Tubby and such in Jamaica during the 1960s. "Step" - originating from 2-step Garage, the direct predecessor of dusbtep, known for it's swinging rhythm and 2-step beats. If you don't incorporate either of these how can you be a "dubstep" producer? Oh and If you want some real OGs of dubstep look up Zed Bias and EL-B b.k.a. Skream and Benga's inspiration

Whereas if you check out new 'dubstep' music like Knife Party, they commonly use 170bpm (dnb)... UNoriginal. Sorry to go in to details, i'm just backing up my argument.
