  • yeah just take that money and go to a white school. they don't care what u wear.

  • i love how they glanced over the ban on gender variant dress listing it among things that are too personal casual. i admit they do have a pooint with uniforms and the personal becoming public but there needs to be some sensitivity to gender variance as if queer people arent black people OH SUBJECTIVITY!

  • @Khonsu1212 it is a private college If they want a dress code that is their right. If a man wants to dress like a woman, apply to a female college and deal with that issue. my rationale is man dressing like a woman wants to be a woman does not belong at a an all male college.

  • @dunn2x my rational is to question what is "dressing like a woman" what kind of women are we camparing them to bc im sure women were not born with dresses and high heels ...we as a society perpetuate these constructs of what is masculine and feminine ...true it is private and they do have a right to do that but we should not invalidate a conversation about gender variance and definitions of black masculinity

  • @Khonsu1212 by the way they did address the fact that students are not to wear female clothing.

  • Dress code is important yes, but u can take it too far.

  • I agree. Dress code is very important. If a standard is not upheld look what happens when they get on the streets? Pants down below their butts because no one enforces a code.

  • UPHOLD THE STANDARD, NO MATTER WHAT!! After all..this university has produced a host of famous black men. How dare anyone to bring that dreaded "GHETTO" apperance to this fine university. If a student does not embrace the dress code...then he is FREE to attend another university. However, the young black men at this university are NOT about embracing the hood! It is an image that is out of touch with the REAL world! It just makes plain common sense to stay focused, and dress for success!

  • YES! You are absolutely right! It's NO laughing matter. Young black man should not be copying off of "fads", they should be focused on how to "dress for success Don't allow this "GHETTO" image to invade this Historically Black University:....I say to all of the young black men...Now IS the time to STAND up , be sure-footed, REAL MEN.. go forth, and represent your manhood. Think of those great men who walked on this very campus even before you were born..GO FORTH AND REPRESENT!

  • Excellent interview. Yes, we've failed them and they've failed to listen. And perhaps now, the admissions/acceptance committee must screen through a visual meeting. Look at it as the signs of the times. Got to do what we got to do to 1st, uphold the STANDARD, and 2nd Raise the standard at Morehouse!! Class of 1987. Excellent INTERVIEW and thank you!!!

  • That was the most intelligent explaination of, " what to do when things go wrong in your community", these kids simply dont know how to dress and they need to be checked before one of these idiots come to school naked as a jay bird, talking about this is how i want to exspress myself today. 2 thumbs up for Morehouse having enough sense to put an end to this foolishness...
