As long as Ghostbusters three is made the right way I am happy. And if Sony/Columbia does not make it for whatever reason then I am going to treat the video game as the third movie(part of me already does).
Good point about the use of CGI special effects. I recall an interview by Harold Ramis concerning the effects for the upcoming Ghostbusters 3. He was worried that it would take on that manufactured feel, as most movies do these days. Me being a GB fan, as well, I have faith they'll pull it off. I was impressed by the video game. And it's true about remakes in the 80s being treated with care. I'll reference John Carpenter's The Thing as being superior to the original.
Fright Night is one of my all time favorite movies, it was my first vampire movie and I will see the remake out pure curiosity... Even though I know it will most likely fail
the idea for top gun 2 sounds stupid to me. sounds like a remake of stealth to me.
I watched gangbusters 1 and 2 a lot when I was a kid, so I'm gonna wait for the trailer before I cast a stone
this remake craze is getting ridiculous. its one thing when they reboot a film series that needs it like with TCM, it's another when they redo a film that doesn't need to be redone (NOES).
kids today dont know shit about real movies hollywood just remakes movies or does long delayed sequels , which themselves are lip service to fans of the originals. a real flipping of the bird to fans of the originals
Bill Murray likes to be this way...He likes doing Ghost busters films...A LOT.
I honestly, and this is just my dumb opinion, think that if they had made Ghost busters 3 directly after two...It would have been HORRIBLE. Plus, I'm with you Mike, I love the GB franchise. Even the second one. Im a little nervous. Especially after seeing Indy 4... Hopefully they know better than to fuck it up, after all they did good on the new ghost busters game, and they wrote that too. Cont.
Cont: In all honesty I did like Indy 4, but it was not up to par with the other three...hmm sorta like another series that George Lucas has a lot to do with...*cough* Star Wars *cough*

I don't know what sounds worse, a Top Gun with automated planes or Fright Night with Colin Farrell.

I'd have to agree with you on Ghostbusters 3. As a GB fan, I won't make my judgments until I see a trailer.
It's sad that our generation does not know much about movies that are actually good.
Oh, and McLovin would never be scary. Not even in a million years.
