I have the LP's of the Beatles at the Star Club, and it is Horst Fascher who sang vocals on two of the songs, Be Bop A Lula and Hallelujah I Love Her So. What an excellent job that he did on vocals.
George Was Just KILLING on that guitar solo! That's Paul on bass.. but I can't tell if that's Ringo on the drums... the kick is so heavy and 4 to a measure. Pete Best was known for that. I'm guessing this is John, Paul George and Pete with Horst on lead vocals.
@altersachse Thanks! Ringo sure has "a heavy foot" on this performance. It also sounds like Hørst Fascher was quite a colorful character (who could kill with his fist).
@mpm111144 - I thought so, but it's best* to have expert testimony. If this is Mr. McGear, I met you in 1982 in Liverpool in the company of some very beautiful women. This was a "graduation trip" from my parents before I went to college in my home state of California, and woah, was I impressed. There was coffee. There was rain. You were so kind and generous with your stories and observations. I came home feeling I knew something of the world. I hope you and your family are well & thriving.
@raybrandes Wiki has it it is Fred Fascher, Horst's brother, that seems to fit as he was away at the time auditioning for the lead role in a Man call Horst.
Well you kids haven't read enough books Because us older Beatlemaniacs know the singer is the German waiter at the Star Club who doubled as their bodyguard and got them the pills that helped them play 12 hour gigs. His name escapes me but it's in a lot of the books. He loved rock'nroll so they let him get up and sing a few numbers. I wish I coulda been there!
sorry to tell you all thats not the beatles listen closely. the beatles sounded awesome in hamburg.thats was just horrible cant be them.sounded noting like john and nothing like paul.
It would be great if we could see this footage of them live but thats probs impossibal cause its very old when they did this song it probs was never filimed

The Star Club bootleg was recorded New Year's Eve 1962, several months after Ringo joined, so it's definitely him.
