  • Actually it's better than some of the Lynda Carter Episodes especially any dealing with Chloroform, suppose to be fast enough to block bullets with braclets but not fast enough to block some guy holding a rag filled with chloroform yeah right.

  • that music is from the 70's that's what they played back in the good old days back when life was so much more fun not like now

  • Someone should've taken a sledge to that synthesizer.

  • I've always liked this movie and I think that Cathy Lee Crosby did a good job playing this different sort of Wonder Woman. Others have mentioned it, but there is a certain amount of flair and style in this movie that makes it appealing. I really like what you did with the scenes from the movie to make these "opening credits". Nice job an I'm happy to see that someone else enjoyed this movie as much as me to take the effort to make this video.

  • Watching this uncut on 16mm film right now! The villain actors Ricardo M("KHAN!!!!") and Andrew Prine were great in this.

  • I was mortified when I saw this at age 10! How in the world did they come up with this crap??

  • WTF, MY THOUGHTS AS WELL.

  • Everytime I hear this music it reminds me of the 3:30 afternoon movie on ABC in Los Angeles, they would play this all the damm time in the 70's and to this day, I have yet to get through the whole movie!

  • That's Incredible!!

  • YES! Lynda Carter as Queen Hypolytta MUST happen! Also, if I were making a WW movie, I would have Cathy Lee Crosby appear as another Amazon 'elder'(She did fine in this version & is equally hot to Carter, Just a different woman. Saying Crosby is not as hot is like comparing Jessica Alba to Magan Fox or Sandra Bullock to Dana Delany. ALL equally hot for differing reasons.) Also, I would have cameos Lyle Wagner & Debra Winger & a TV-set with Ricardo Maltiban saying, "Really, George? Too bad..."

  • WTF???

  • I think i'd like this movie better if they were just honest and called it "Wonder Angels"

  • @NekoValtz This was made, a few years prior to Charlie's Angels. You could see the trend, however, in tv with this pilot.

  • I remember watching this as a kid. I actually liked it.

That being said, Lynda Carter IS Wonder Woman in the same way that Adam West IS Batman...and nothing will ever change that.

  • People are acting like it's a travesty to like this because the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman came after and was successful. Indeed, Lynda Carter will ALWAYS be my WW and will never be replaced in my mind (much like Christopher Reeve as Superman). That being said, this was a very "interesting" attempt at the character. Cathy Lee Crosby is very pretty (I won't hear otherwise) and the story was actually well written with a lot of attention to character development. It's not great, but it's good.

  • I HATE THIS MOVIE EVERYTIME I THINK OF IT. it screwed me up alittle when I watched it as a kid. who the hell thought of this chick as WW?

BTW: I did like the villianess, Angelica?? i thought she should have been the Cheetah.

  • This was the first attempt at WW in the 70's. It was done by the same people who did Wonder Woman with Linda Carter, they figured by putting WW in the then present,1970's,make her blond sort of jazz her up a little,it might sell. It didn't,so,they went straight for the Wonder Woman of the Comics, Good thing Linda Carter got the chance.

  • This is like Good PORNO!

  • Cathy Lee Crosby should have been on Charlie's Angels.

  • @blackprince206; Think she was in a few early eps before Fawcett took over.

  • KLC would have made a good Angel on Charlie's Angels.

  • this intro looks so awesome it's best TV movie intro in history and Lynda Carter and Cathy Crosby where the best actress to play Wonder Women just like Christen Bale and Michael Keaton where best actors to ever play Batman

I think the actors and actress that act in Superhero movies or shows I think end up being beter stars I don't care what anybody says like "oh they well get type casted and they will never act in other movies" I think critics who say that they can suck it

  • This movie was a terrible idea. The producer and director on this piece of shit should have been run out of Hollywood!

  • Lynda Carter played the character as the military Diana Prince and Wonder Woman against the Nazis better than the period piece of the Cathy Lee Crosby (no super powers but as well trained athlete)

When the show moved to CBS and Diana Prince worked for the IADC she still bested Cathy Lee Crosby version

  • I liked Cathy Lee. But she did not portray WW like Lynda Carter. She was truly Wonder Woman. The way she carried off the character was perfect. And she looked the part like no other acress could have. If they ever decide to bring it to he big screen it will be hard to find another actress to fit the bill. Lynda could play the queen though. That would be cool

  • @caribeandude1

Not true that few current actresses can look the part like Linda Carter. How about Megan Fox?

  • @blackprince206 No chance! Megan Fox doesn't have the legs for being Wonder Woman. Not many from Hollywood do, any more. Way...WAY too skinny for the part.

  • Call me crazy but I like this theme. Real trippy...wish I could download it...

  • This is a lot more believable than some chick in short shorts kicking your but

  • @kenshuei Maybe so. But not true to the original character.

  • @caribeandude1 Yeah but if they ever stayed true to the original character wonder woman would so be in to bondage more

  • I watched this many year after watching Linda Carter's show; I liked the movie/pilot (from a kid's point of view) and also because I was a fan of Cathy Lee Crosby; but honestly I'm happy it wasn't picked up for series since that forced the producers to improve the concept before bringing the sweet Linda Carter.

  • I was a kid when this telefilm debuted on ABC -- Luckily, I was familiar with the comic book character as she was portrayed in the late '60s/early '70s: A globe-trotting, martial arts expert and Amazon who had given up her superpowers yet still kicked ass. Though the character was back in costume by the time of this film, ABC nonetheless found inspiration in that period of history, even going so far as to cast a blonde. Even today, I enjoy this film as a fun moment in the character's evolution.

  • It's amazing that it got such bad reviews in the 70s , even as a kid I thought it was a great movie and that Cathy Lee Crosby was excellen, always very memorable. Would have been interesting if they did both series, one with Lynda and this one with Cathy.

  • THIS WAS A TERRIBLE MOVIE....THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES......

  • I remember watching this movie as a kid and how disappointed I was that it did not featured THE Wonder Woman we all know and love (Lynda Carter) , my mom even asked why, just why? thank goodness for the series! :-))

  • Lynda Carter is-was-will always be Wonder Woman even to those pre-dating her show. Sorry but what I see here is 70's! In every aspect!! This has aged badly, where as Lynda Carter's version is still funky 70's fresh...we love you Lynda!

  • Lynda Carter Rocked as Wonder Woman. This version sucked.

  • it sort of reminds me of ''police woman'' or ''get christy love''type of show, but it's not bad.say is cathy lee crosby related to bing crosby.

  • I always liked Cathy Lee Crosby's Wonder Woman better than Lynda Carter's. This movie had style and Cathy Lee Crosby played the character like a female James Bond. The Lynda Carter series was cheesy. This movie was camp, but camp in a good way! Lynda Carter's show belongs in the "so bad it's good" category.

Yes, I know I'm probably going to be alone in this opinion!

  • @signcrash You are not alone on that opinion. I loved the Cathy Lee Crosby Wonder Woman, too. I actually felt that if they had worked out a series it might have done well................ And oh, she was also cute. I liked Lynda Carter as well, but I do think Cathy had a chance to star a good series.

  • @signcrash Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But, yes. You'll have very few people if any agreeing with you. Lynda Carter's portrayal of Wonder Woman was true to the original concept. Cathy Lee's didn't even come close. I don't know what the producers of that movie had in mind but they were ill advised.

  • I loved this as a kid.. but it is soooo wrong that Wonder Woman has blonde hair and wears a tracksuit! lol!

Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman FTW Now and always <3

  • older womaaaaaannnn jajaja she was sol old for the caracter

  • It was better than the 60s pilot attempt by William Dozier...has some good moments in it, Ricardo Montalban makes a fine bad guy. Didn't mind them adapting the early 70s Diana-as-super-spy-type...just nowhere near as good as the Lynda Carter series!

  • I remember seeing this on TV and I liked it! I of course love the Wonder Woman series, was raised on it. I saw this when it re-aired in the late 70's on a Satruday afternoon...Is it on DVD somewhere? I do hope if they make a Wonder Woman movie that they find a suitable actress, and do it up right! HUGE Wonder Woman fan!!

  • This was the year I was born... VERY painful to watch... How Hokey!

  • It was more painful to watch back then than it is now.

  • I remember this when i was a kid

  • Comment removed

  • Not bad! What kind of powers does she have? :) Probably something awesome!

  • That depowered "Diana Prince: Secret Agent" crap probably would have worked better if done like this...

  • I likedthis movie although it was different

  • One of these days DC comics will have these 2 Wonder Womans meet as the multiverse was reinstated in the DC Universe after the "FINAL CRISIS" maxi-series.

  • WOW! Once Again, Great Edits and Nice Footage... Reminds me of something I would have done.. Great Job!

  • Egads!!!!! I'm so glad they dumped this chick for Lynda Carter! Who will be Wonder Woman in my mind forever!

  • This originally aired on ABC's "TUESDAY MOVIE OF THE WEEK" on March 12, 1974, and was the first pilot for a projected weekly series. But the network wasn't interested, and Warner Bros. went back to the drawing board- the second time, "they got it right" by going back to the "original" character...incidentally, Cathy's costume was reused in the SHORT-short-lived 1980 Warner Bros./NBC series, "SIX O'CLOCK FOLLIES". As for Ricardo's white suit, he used it to better advantage as "Mr. Roarke".

  • This was supposed to be a movie based on the period when she had given up her super powers she really didnt display super human powers just extremley gifted abilities you guys should appreciate it for the kitch it is . it has a style of its own im a huge lynda carter fan bu i still enjoy this though i like the costume for some odd reason

  • @wondercub

Hmm, I am not sure. Cathy Lee Crosby was also a Blonde. They should have hired the Villaines in her movie to play Diana.

  • This sucked even when I saw it at eight years old. CLC was always a horrible actor and the only highlight of this was Ricardo Montalban...

  • If you put Lynda Carter completely out of your mind while watching this movie, it is actually quite good. It has a certain sense of style to it, especially for a 70's TV movie. I like Cathy Lee Crosby's self-assured attitude.

  • @jsbethel

Not true. Because people wanted to see the ORIGINAL Wonder Woman in action hence the ORIGINAL WONDER WOMAN movie being made a year later WITH Lynda Carter

She had no powers whatsoever, No Bullet Proof Bracelets.

  • @jsbethel I totally agree with you! I remember when this first aired. I loved it, and Cathy, very much! When Lynda Carter starred in her version, I was captivated by it. However, I always was in front of the tv (if at all possible), when this pilot re-ran on local tv. Good stuff!

  • Please! lynda Carter was way hotter!! Hey she still isn't too shabby today.

  • her outfitt is aweful

  • I always thought although CLC is no Lynda Carter, the movie wasn't that bad. Just different from what we know as THE classic WW series with Lynda. And I really dig the theme music!!! So, 70s!!!

  • This imagining/version of Wonder Woman is closer to the brief comic book version during the 60's where Diana gives up were powers the stay in man's world while her nation island goes to another dimension. She went all martial arts then.

  • I think you are right on the money. This tv movie was very much that.

  • Yes, but do you know why they did that with the comic book? Diana Rigg from the Avengers TV series was very popular at that time, and DC comics wanted to cash in on that by changing Wonder Woman into a sort of "Emma Peel" type character, hoping to bring more popularity to Wonder Woman. This move actually backfired and sales eventually dropped, and Wonder Woman reverted back to her normal self.

  • Yes I was aware of the influence Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) had on the alterations of Wonder Woman back then. I'm impressed you knew. Did you know Emma Peel's name came from the creator's wanting a woman with the "male appeal"?

  • Yes I did. The name Emma Peel was actually born from the phrase "Man Appeal" or "Male Appeal". I'm a huge Diana Rigg fan, as well as a Lynda Carter fan, so I know all of this useless information.

  • I remember this when I was really young. She was more like Bat Man with the gadgets because she really didn't have any super human strength

  • Comment removed

  • Looked more like The Avengers-honey West-Cleopatra Jones as oppose to WOnder Woman with Lynda Carter.

  • Only thing I didn't like about this movie was that guy, Charlie and his gun!

  • I actually liked this movie.

  • this music sounds like a dentist's drill!

  • atleast the shows or movies back than stayed true to the cartoon or anime...

  • This show was not bad considering it was 1974. It just didn't get the ratings that the show needed. Lynda Carter was chosen to represent WW especially because of the way she looked. There was never a blonde WW and KR was short in comparison to Lynda Carter. All in all the she fit the role like WW actually existed and the is why she and the show are legendary now.

  • well this wasnt a failure, she was goen to get the part for the tv series Although the telefilm was a ratings success, producers decided to retool the product to more closely resemble the comic book version, resulting in Crosby being let go. Her incarnation of Wonder Woman makes a one-panel cameo in the comic book Infinite Crisis #6 as part of an alternate Earth.

  • The theme is trippy...I like it!

  • LYNDA CARTER THE BEST...

  • AMEN!!!!!!!

  • The Wonder Woman 1974 movie wasn't that bad but in no way is the better version. While she did kick butt she was more like a female 007 as opposed as the female counterpart to Superman/Captain Marvel. Lynda Carter is the TRUE Wonder Woman For Always!!!

  • That was how she'd been portrayed in the comics a few years earlier. She didn't have her powers and she was more the Emma Peel type.

  • Well, Not really. Diana in the comics never wore that costume and was never ever a Blonde in the comics. The only Blonde character in the comics back in the day was Diana's Mother who is now a raven haired Queen of the Amazons.

  • I was talking about powers and characterization. What she wore had changed so drastically than a new costume was plausible. I think you mean the only female blonde character, since Steve Trevor was a blonde, though there were probably minor female characters, too. No disrespect meant to Gail Simone, but I'd rather not think about what they're doing to Wonder Woman these days.

  • I understand what you meant but that version of Wonder Woman was a failure that is why the Lynda Carter version was made.

Gail Simine is writing a kickass Wonder Woman!! JMO though

  • I've got no problem with her writing. It's just that I think the definitive WW was the original Marson stories, and this literally isn't even the same character, though both the world and comics have changed so much since then that I don't think it would be possible to recapture what made those early stories.

  • Well that can actually be said for all for most DC characters especially Superman. and to a lesser deghree Batman. Times have changed and so has the audience. You can't have a character whose mind set is stuck in the 40's. Wonder Woman is a loving Warrior. Meaning she loves everyone but will kick your ass and possibly kill you to save innocent lives.

  • Didn't Wonder Woman kill some dude who was mind controlling Batman and Superman?

  • Lord... not shit! I am all about giving a writer time to establish a new "mood" or "tone" or "take" on a character/setting, but I have to say I am somewhat disappointed in Simone's direction... I "get" where she's coming from, storywise, and where she's leading things for the future, but I can't say it's being done all that well... Just very surprised, as I was actually hoping for more, or better, from a woman given the chance to write long-term for such a feminine icon...

  • I remember this movie. Cathy Lee Crosby was a beautiful woman. Ricardo Montalban played the villain.

  • Listen Up "Cause i checked on this... Not one single person owns Hollywood,,it is a corporation, A Corporate Board runs it and makes its decisions....Lynda Carter has more Corporate board votes to be Wonder Woman in Hollywood.....that is what counts is permission from the owner/representative of one given company/business....Hollywood....there is no debate now on who is Wonder Woman..Wonder Womyn ixs Lynda Karter.

  • this movie was a fiasco

  • cathy lee crosby and redskins quarterback joe theisman two blonds who never got over looking in the mirror. they were married for several years.

this clip is all that was bad about the 70s crap acting hysterically bad directing not to mention the vega and chevette and pinto of that era along with gerald ford and richard nixon. no wonder everyone got stoned and gave that decade a pass

  • This film gets such a bad rap. In 1974 it was still unusual to see a woman kick butt. Even though I prefer the Lynda Carter series, I love the music from both shows. The snakin' guitar stuff from the CLC TV movie rocks, and the conga-pop rock form the 1st season of the LC series during the 40's was equally cool. Whoever makes the big "Wonder Woman Movie" that never seems to get made, has GOT TO HAVE COOL MUSIC...no matter what! It has to be cool or it ain't Wonder Woman as far as I'm concerned.

  • All though I'm sure Cathy gave her best effort and she was the first Wonder Woman, it seems so strange to see anyone else in this role other than Lynda Carter.

  • I enjoyed the theme music, it was really infectious. But sorry, Cathy was totally miscast as Wonder Woman - she was blond and Wonder Woman is a brunette. And the costume was awful. Clearly, they had no idea what they were doing.

  • Wrong on so many levels! I want my idol of childhood Lynda Carter!

  • as a role model for women i would choose Cathy lee- i would hope she is a str8 up feminist, Lynda carter is to boring, somewhat like the Polly Anna of the late seventies - her views are so prehistoric .

As a feminist her views are a real turn off for me

  • I am a big Wonder Woman fan and this wasn't as bad as people say...She was more like a secret agent kinda hero in this one with gagets...but it was still entertaining. I wish this was on DVD :)!

  • Ugh - this theme song makes my ears bleed.

  • This was the better Wonder Woman although Bionic Woman left both in the dust.

  • I always loved this music. When this was rebroadcast on the 4:30 Movie out of NYC in '77, we didn't have a VCR, so the best I could do was stick an cassette recorder microphone up to the TV speaker.

My audio tape is showing its age, I can finally hear it again as it was. Thanks much!

(and very nice editing job, too!)

  • wow i didnt know their was another woman cast to play wonder woman before Lynda Carter- wow..

Although i find this womans fighting style to be a lot more stronger than Lynda Carters version, but do agree that Lynda fitted the role better

  • the fighting style was taken from the wonder woman of the late 60s who learned martial arts from an Asian master.

  • I remember seeing this and quite frankly I didn't like it. Cathy Lee Crosby is a lovely Women no doubt. But as Wonder Woman no thanks doesn't work for me.

The only true Wonder Woman is Lynda Carter she is Beautifull hot and sexy. not to mention she resembles the comic book Character.

Lynda Carter made a better Wonder Woman then Cathy Lee Crosby ever did.

  • Love the trippy music...

  • a synth and a lot of coke. basically.

    LOL.

  • nice editing job, alex. i thought that was an original trailer.

  • This was a lame attempt at Wonder Woman.

  • YEEEHAAAH!!!!

  • I always liked this and wish Warner Bros. would release on a new dvd with a Cathy Lee Cosby interview.

  • rare thanx
