If this really is you, I wanted to say god bless you and keep you, and yours. YOurs as in , all your family, not just your 'current' children. Family is so very very important. I was lucky to have an amazing one; all whom I miss every single day , as they are all gone , but one brother , whom I am in contact with at least once a month , usually more. Family is worth it Alison, so don't ever give up wanting to be part of the love. Love heals , we all deserve it. I hope your 'ok' now.

I remember this show. This was the show that revealed that Mariah was black. It was when I found out. There's a part cut out of this and it might be the part that said Mariah was passing for white and her mother would tell people that Mariah was Italian if anyone ask.

Mariah never took her kid from her, her mother was in fear for her grandson's safety and looked after him till Alison got herself sorted out.

A real sister would've realised that Mariah was being pushed around a lot by her label at that stage, where was Alison when Mariah was alone in a bad marriage? Oh yeah she was dissing her on public television, I don't give a shit how much Alison says she cares about Mariah, its obvious that she only cares about herself.

@sassymonsterO You got your facts wrong. Patricia didn't look after Alison's son. She took Alison to court and Alison lost custody of her son.

Lets get this straight. Mariah was living the good life. There is no comparison to Mariah not being allowed to wear skimpy clothes to Alison's drug use and very, very personal struggles. And for her family as a whole to turn their back on Alison because they were afraid the money train from their famous sister would dry up is shameful.

Alison knew Carey was starting up a career, she had no right to blame her family of all people. Her son should've been enough to quit all that shit, stop making excuses for her, and Alison's problems are only bigger cos they are hers.

My sister has been battling drug addiction, prostitution and mental illness for years and has at one point done wrong to just about every family member including her own children from theft to violence, but we still talk to her. That is my point. Problems like that don't go away with one trip to a therapist. It's a lifelong struggle that has highs and lows. Maybe Alison would have gotten better sooner if her family didn't abandon her at one of her lows.

@sevenbrides7 The only reason Mariah is getting heat is because she has money, thats what its all about, when you get rich you have to be careful to who you hand your money too, Mariah grew up seeing Alison doing things that she shouldn't, Mariah resents Alison for a lot of things that she put Mariah through throughout her childhood. Listen to "Close My Eyes", Patricia probably had went through so much from what Alison caused for her other kids that she finally had enough.

No hate on Alison cause she has had a rough life, but you have to understand that for mothers like Patricia, its really difficult for her to make the best choices for her other kids by alientating another, its really hard.

@sassymonsterO Alison said back in the late 90s that only her dad still talked to her. I'm not sure why Patricia stopped, especially since it would mean Alison lost all contact with her son. And if that is so, then she had a shitty lawyer. And now Alison has two young kids who probably haven't met their grandmother, uncle, aunt and probably other relatives too.

@sevenbrides7 I think they would've met by now but im gonna guess that they are all estranged, but I've met people like Alison before, the bad eggs, apart from the fact my friends take responsibility for where they got themselves and are open with the fact that they did it to themselves, everyone has a choice.

I'm happy for Alison if she has got her life together, but if she is still blaming other people for her problems then I have little sympathy for her. But here I don't think she was.

@sevenbrides7 Patricia, as the mother, needed to be there for both daughters as a parent. She didn't have her parenting skills intact with Allison. That is the message I get from this interview. Favoritism, can literally wound a child so deeply. I think parents do this and think there are no repercussions. If Allison felt loved and supported; she wouldn't have sought out a husband at 16. You have to be confused and in a low place to turn to drugs and prostitution. This is a very sad story.

Even if she were trying to embarrass MC, she wouldn't be able 2. M is nowhere near absent of her own issues. It's apparent by her music as well as the part of her life we've viewed. We've all got our hurts, habits, hang-ups, etc. What we do w/ them is up to us. I am glad that Alison got help and I pray that both of them will find their way. And b reconciled. Once we lay down our selfish feelings, we often find that though our hurts didn't produce the same outcomes, they hurt just the same.

I feel really sorry for Mariah's sister. I believe a lot of what she is saying, although its obvious she has done wrong in her life. It can't be nice being treated that way by your own family, the mother loving one child more than another. I know what that is like because that's sort of how it is with my family.

I've been a Mariah fan from the moment I heard her voice and have watched her through out the years. It has always been obvious to me that she was hurting even when she smiles at times.
