  • This gun works and looks just like the japanese nambu pistol

  • so your name means "the way of the bat", or are you a "Tick" fan?

  • @gunthebitch Yeah, I loved the Tick. "TAO" was actually the gaming clan I was in years ago. We played a shooter gamed called Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Fledermaus was a good German name to use. Few people know about The Tick muchless about Die Fledermaus.

  • Going to get mine next week. Gun shop in my area has a Mark I for $300 and another for $450. Music in the back fits the vid perfectly. Lol!

  • ive had some nasty shit fly out of the bolt grooves before during shooting

  • This gun is worth all praises... until it comes down to field-stripping it. Have a 1970`s issue Standard, it's a real PITA to clean it.

  • I never knew the bolt bounced either..amazing it does that without jamming evening under fast firing!!!

  • Interesting how the bolt bounces every time it goes forward.

  • I really want one of these for the range, good plinker and inexpensive to shoot (even with the good rounds)...great video seeing the action in slow motion.

  • 1 moa shooting with a .22 pistol at 100yrds is pretty impressive. I have two mark threes and while I may be able to hit that stump repeatedly it would be lucky for me to hit a quarter size target. The only thing I may be able to do it with is the ruger charger I have, I can shoot 10 cent piece size targets at 50yrd so I reckon I could hit 3/10 (maybe) at a 100. Good shooting mate. I guess there's no squirrels left around your homestead LOL

  • I have the .22/45, with a heavy barrel. You really can't feel any recoil at all, and it kinda feels more natural to use compared to a Glock, but that's my opinion.

  • After watching for 10 seconds i realized the advertisement wasn't over yet. >_>

  • ive got the same gun =)

  • @R2RO20 i shoot remington .22lr

  • u should hold that gun up to ur eye and shoot lmao

  • @hatenwithcomments97 Keep trying....

  • @hatenwithcomments97 your gay

  • the third part of the recording was the best, you could see the most detail.

    cool video.

  • That lloks similar to the nambu. Maybe its the slide

  • i am a fan of slo-mo. it is very intersting to see bolts bounce upon closing, the brain cannot process at regular speed. THANKS.

  • i used a camera that could go 6000 frames per second at my last job. i really wish i had a gun to film with it it would have been sweet.

  • the french policmen chasing pink panther uses that pistol too

  • I love this is gun, maybe because its my only gun lol,I shoot federal rounds through it cheap ammo.

  • The Mark II is Great however the Mark III is problematic. Ruger needs to get rid of that dumbass loaded chamber indicator because it messes with the feed on certain types of ammo. I shot my Mark II next to my friend who has a Mark III. We used the same ammo and mine fired flawless while he had multiple FTFs.

  • Is that a standard rear sight?

  • @semiautoriflelover I really don't know. I know that he was missing his front sight though!

  • @semiautoriflelover Not the standard rear sight, Its an aftermarket high visibility (the white coloring) adjustable sight.

  • @semiautoriflelover No they are not, it comes with V notch sights.

  • my MK II has the govt target barrel. its a pretty good pistol!

  • I shoot a Ruger Mark II Target and did not know the bolt bounced like that...when it hits the back of the chamber the first time it recoils off and then seats itself...interesting.

  • @GrisGrisManVoodooMD That is very cool. I never realized it did that either. Would some damping be of any value?

  • @GrisGrisManVoodooMD I thought the same thing! I have the MKIII 45. I wonder if my bolt does this? That's a lot of bounce.

  • what brand of ammo do u use?

  • What a veird sights!

Can you give me more info on that!?

  • this gun looks like a luger p08, its pretty cool

  • @iamadness69

It's pretty much copy of Japanese nambu, but since Nmabu is prety much influenced by P08...

  • @mfilip62 oh thats true the nambu action looks a lot like this

  • I see you or someone else got the rear tire of that truck! You must need a lot of light to shoot at 600 fps, don't you.

  • @MuzzleBlast357 Just a reposessed truck, lots of repo'd cars, boats, motorcycles parked at that place. You do need pretty good lighting to film, direct sunlight is more than enough. If it is overcast, it is often too dark to film.

  • What's the frame rate of this video?

  • @Billbobaker it was filmed at 600 frames per second.

  • The bolt rebounds. This may be true with all Blowback operated mechanism. I'm sure locking-bolt recoil operated ones don't rebound. If you can video a Tommy gun or Ingram, we'll see if it rebounds on semi-auto shot.

  • whats the song?

  • Great video! Thanks for posting it. I've fired 10s of thousands of rounds through my MkI, II, & III Rugers over the years & it's facinating to see it in slomo.

  • i have the mk lll it really is a great gun

  • do they still make them cause i want one

  • one thing i hate about the ruger mark pistol is that it have a reciever bounce every time it slam against the breech . LOOK AT IT !

  • if you dont want shells to hit it then film from the other side...

  • @murphinator3 Half the fun is seeing the shells flying towards the camera. I use a protective filter on my camera to protect the lens so I often try to move into the path of the shells, it's a neat effect.

  • @taofledermaus i agree with you on that one, nice camera as well(Y)

  • It's interesting to watch the bolt bounce off the chamber. I need to get my hands on one of those cameras--I'd have so much fun with it.

  • @sekiryu I've had the camera for around 2 years and it is still a lot of fun to experiment with. It seems like there is something surprising or unexpected in every clip I film with it.

  • Awesome vid. thanks man.

I wonder if mine would look the same in slow-mo or if I do actually have a lot less recoil on my Mk2 due to the heavier 4" bull barrel (?).

it seems like yours is bouncing around quite a bit.

  • @DaDudeson Being heavier it would probably recoil a bit less, but I'm pretty sure you'd see about the same bolt-bounce. It's pretty common with blow backs.

  • bad ass movie for a 22 haha

  • how many FPS is your camera shooting at?

  • @z000987 I am using 600fps mode. (20x slower than real time)

  • @z000987

    try reading the description.

that's what it is there for.

  • put a front sight on that pistol

  • Its amazing that the bolt actually bounces against the chamber a little after every shot.

  • Notice how with every ejection there are little tiny brass flakes that also come out with each casing? that's pretty cool...looks like the extractor is tearing tiny shaving off the casing when it extracts out the round. you could see it pretty clearly in most every shot.

  • @RenderingsToTheMAX I've seen the same thing on some macro shots we did with a 9mm pistol recently- when releasing the slide and chambering a round. I never would have guessed you'd be able to actually see the tiny flakes though.

  • @taofledermaus i see maybe 1 or 2 flakes every couple of rounds, you just have to look

  • @MikeDaFerret teh winchester ammo always jams mine. Federal ammo and cci is the best ammo for this gun. The remington .22 ammo is beyond horrible. If you keep it clean (full strip/cleaning) and use federal I would be very surprised if you had a problem.

  • @MikeDaFerret I may be interested in that Mike, send me an email add. or some way to contact you.

  • What kind of sights do you have?

  • these are really fun to shoot, definetly would recommend for anybody looking for a target pistol.

  • @thenewchance

Nothing better for plinking than the Mark II

  • @familyphotoshoot yeah, very true. The thing is very accurate and very nice to shoot.

  • @thenewchance i can't agree more. I worship my MK II and I watch my own videos of it sometimes when I can't get out and shoot

  • @zodiac1218 Learn to read the description and you shall know...

  • smokey 22 cal cartriges

  • Its interesting to see the bolt bounce every time it closes, I noticed the same thing on another video of a Ruger 10/22 in slow motion..

  • Were You In The Military???

  • @TheGunBull No I wasn't.

  • @TheGunBull lol "were u in the millitary"

  • Great gun have one myself with a bull barrel on it. Such an accurate gun, if you miss its because YOU missed.

  • anyone know a price for these?

  • this is a nazi gun.

  • @monstered66 I know thats what I say, looks like a nambu and a luger had a little baby

  • @monstered66 Ruger is American, and also this is modeled after the Nambu witch is a Japanese gun. So in sumation don't try to state a stupid fact that is incorrect for basicly no reason. Even if it was a Nazi gun, big fucking deal what is it to you?

  • Hey I have one of these - it's a great gun, but mine looks a bit different... The rear site (on mine) is MUCH smaller, and the slide doesn't stay open after the last round either (which would be nice). I wonder if you could see the bullet fly downrange at 600fps if you filmed looking down the barrel towards the target?

  • @jcmegabyte I'm pretty sure we could have captured the bullets from this pistol. I've been able to capture bullets as fast as about 2300fps (MUCH to my surprise). A big .458 Socom round going around 1900fps showed up well too. Had to crank up the shutterspeed quite a bit.

  • Sweet video!

  • @jmikeslater Thank you! This was just a quickie video we filmed and I have been surprised at how well it's been accepted.

  • Pretty sweet video. Is the front sight missing on that gun?

  • @Pantallicadeth Thank you! Yeah, I'm not sure of the story of why the front sight isn't there.

  • this is great. Great quality video. What a beautiful gun in action! Thanks for the post

  • It's amazing how much detail came out in the 600fps. 1200 fps would just rock that much more. Excellent video, and as mentioned, the double bounce of the bolt was unexpected. Great job!!

  • very nice video man, and nice music to. it gives it somewhat of an under/dark tone.

Very nice indeed, and good camera work too. thumbs up from me definitely!!

  • @MisterExterminator Thank you very much. It's comments like yours that motivate me to make more videos.

  • I want that firearm sooooooo fucking badly. 9mm is too expensive, we need a cheap .22 pistol. Do you recomend the MK I, II, or III? Dont just say MK II because you own it, gimma a reason I might get one this month

  • @mucasPARTSstudios It isn't my pistol, and I know little about the different variants, so I would not be the best one to advise you. Wish I could be more helpful

  • @mucasPARTSstudios

I've got a MKIII Gov Target Model and a MKII like the one in the video (but without the sights) and I say GO GET ONE. Any of `em are great. They're accurate, reliable, and cheap to shoot. I have a dozen other guns that have their place, but for FUN the Ruger .22 can't be beat. They're built like a tank, so they'll last and last.

  • @mucasPARTSstudios, I would recommend the MKIII simply because of the mag release being in the proper place! Not thrilled with the mag safety or the loaded chamber indicator but they have proven to be a non-issue over the years.

  • can u slow it down any more that that not to sound ungrateful im glad i found ur channel cause this is soooo cool

  • @tacdriver22mk2 If I get another opportunity I will try to film it at 1200 frames/sec (40 times slower) instead of 600fps. The action of the MKII is pretty dang quick, almost like filming a firecracker. I should have filmed some of the bullets flying through the air too.

  • @SpiritofAdventure22 I'm not really sure. It isn't my gun. I wish I could be more helpful!

  • I'm a big fan of the Mark 2's..I would have never guessed that the bolt is bouncing like that..

Thanks for taking the time to do this..Well done..I can see why now its not the quietest host gun..

  • @MrChondro thanks for the kind words!

  • @MrChondro Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • @SpiritofAdventure22 He is missing the front sight, so it probably looks odd.

  • pardon me for asking, but what is with the ironsight?

  • @Rambowookie Apparently he is missing the front sight.

  • @taofledermaus does that thing have any recoil at all?

  • @MrPennyworth007 I never fired it. I imagine the recoil is very light though.

  • BORING

  • It is amazing that after the bolt bounces, the pistol remanis fairly accurate. Any comment and experiences are welcome.

  • OMFG, dat was freaking nice, U ROCKK!

  • lol...

  • film at 1000 fps if your casio can

  • @jayjaykewl727 This camera will do 1200 fps but the resolution is only about 1/3 of this footage (600fps) If Danny brings his pistol out again next time we go shooting I'll try to remember to film it at 1200, a couple other people have requested that too.

  • @taofledermaus yes awesome i thought it did something to the size or quality but still it would be cool to see it in super slow motion 1200 fps man your camera is $999 or 1000 basically very nice investment

  • @jayjaykewl727 In my case it was a good investment because I use the camera a lot and have "forgotten" the cost of the camera since it's given me so much enjoyment. I shoot most things at 600FPS because I like the resolution. 1200 fps is only 2x faster but like I said, about 1/3 the size of the 600fps resolution so there isn't much advantage and lining up the shots with that mail-slot like frame is difficult.

  • Never realized that a MKII recoiled that much. Interesting how the bolt bounces on closing cause of the lack of a locking mechanism.

  • Where is the front sight?

  • You are the first person to notice it missing. lol I'm not sure of the story behind the missing front sight.

  • I honestly never noticed that much bolt bounce in my high speed videos.

    Excellent video!

  • Thank you! I must have caught it at the right angle. Even Ruger 10/22's bolts bounce quite a bit.

  • Hello. Nice Mark II. Tell me if you could - How many rounds have been thru this gun? Is there any way to tell? Just wondering. I have 2 Mark II's. One is the Standard with the real long barrel and the other is just the bull barrel. The other 2 are Mark III's. Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • I know little about this Mark II since it a friend of a friend's dad who owns it. lol I believe it is missing the front sight, and that is about all I know about this gun. Sorry I could not be more helpful!

  • No taofledermaus that's cool. Just want to thank you for such a great vid. They are really hard to film and get right at a very slow speed like that. That model sort of looks like the German Luger P08 I think. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • It's clearly visible how the thin chips of lead from .22lr bullets are cut by feeding ramp or cartridge chamber edges.... (they are just leaving together with empty cases - look at clip starting 1:00). Because of that I have polished my semi-auto's feeding ramp up to mirror shine

  • Very good observation stankoz02.

  • Did that help on the Mark II?

  • @stankoz02

Yeah, it can't help the situation but my 22/45 MkII (5.25 stainless target circa '92) holds 3 inches with Fed brick at 45 yards. I'm sure if I was better it would be too. Theres only so much you can do with a pistol.

    Cheers,

    Jon

  • is there a possibilty of getting a clip recorded at 1200frames/sec? i really love this gun.

  • If my buddy brings it out the next time we go shooting I'll do that. I'm not the biggest fan of running this camera at 1200 fps because of the degraded image quality- it's a pretty small resolution and mailslot thin. It's pretty hard for me to get nice looking stuff @1200 and I haven't seen too many others have much luck with it. I guess the tradeoff is seeing slower movement details. I'll definitely write down your request and give it a try.

  • thanks, deffinitly looking forward to it:)

  • lol very nice i wanna get one haha. i guess its all worth the money than :) whats the website u got it from? Aderonn do not get the Mossberg 702 ... not that its bad or anything its just you cant find any High Cap Mags, Im kinda pissed about that. rather you should get a Rugger 10/22 which is a pretty good gun and it comes with alot of different mag capacity just something you should consider :D good luck purchasing your first .22 ^^

  • It's my friend's gun so I don't know much about it. It was the first time he brought it out. I think the mag on it holds 20 rounds.

  • its its a factory mag its 10, havent seen any high cap mags around :/ did the mag come out of the frame ? liek a 30 round glock mag ?

  • The mag didn't extend out the bottom. I could be wrong about it being 20rds and it may be only 10.

  • haha thats an awesome little gun. when i get a little older i might look into getting a .22 and take it to a range.

  • I don't think these Mk II's are very expensive, probably about the same as a Ruger 10/22. It's a cool looking gun, similar shape to a German Luger.

  • haha yeah i was thinking the same thing. and the action of the bolt or slide (w/e its called) looks similar to the c98 box cannon/broom handle. (it has several different nicknames) about how much might the ruger 10/22 be? i dont know much about the pricing of real guns

  • A Ruger 10/22 is about $250 or less. It's kind of funny that real firearms are often less than high quality airsoft guns. Sometimes you can find some good deals on used firearms at gun shops or pawn shops.

  • wow. thats cheap. airsoft can be alot more expensive than some real guns. but im sure once you get up into assault rifles, they can get very expensive and some of them you cant get at all.

  • Which State are you from, Taf?

I think more than one Youtube gun nut may love your help.

  • I am in California. Plenty of nuts and fruits here!

  • Cool, I also noticed how the bolt bounces as it closes. I need to go watch my high speed video again and see if my Mosquito does that???

  • When you think about it, it makes sense since there isn't anything to stop the metal pieces from bouncing against each other. I guess the cartridge acts as sort of a shock absorber ?

  • OK, now that you have made me think about it...lol

I would think the strength of the recoil spring and the mass of the reciprocating bolt would be key factors, as well as the orientation of the bolt.

On my Sig 22, the whole slide moves, and I am guessing it weighs more than the bolt on your Ruger, also a lot of the mass is above the chamber (top heavy). Being top heavy should cause more muzzle rise, and maybe that + the heavier action makes my slide move slower and bounce less??

  • You could be onto something there. Even my Ruger 10/22's bolt is pretty small and bounces for a few miliseconds.

  • making use of your camera nice. what kind do you have? seems really expensive if its this good quality!

  • The camera is a Casio EX F1 and it's around $1000. I've been trying to become better at using it for most of this year and a few shots come out nice, while many are less nice looking. Thanks!

  • Cool vid! I have one of these with a 10 inch target barrel. Interesting to see how the slide bounces at the end of the cycle.

  • Thanks for the kind words. This is my friend's gun and it was cool seeing how fast that bolt flies back, even in HS. I've seen the bouncing bolt in other blowback guns. It is a really cool gun and seems to be quite reliable.
