I am impressed that the Republicans, normally known for shunning those different from them, would embrace Senator Collins. I am not talking about rumors of her sexuality. I am referring to her enormous speech impediment. This gives hope to all those out there who look funny and speak awkwardly.
What is the point here....Susan Collins has supported our troops, supported education, and supported the working people of Maine. The fact that she respected a conservative colleage says nothing about the work that she has done for our nation and the State of Maine!
I am starting to feel a little bad for Tom Allen. The campaign is just beginning and he already doesn't have anything to talk about, no record after a decade in the House, etc. Pathetic.
The video could be better... it could have pointed toward her complete support of the 500 billion dollars spent on the Iraq War and the lack of any hearings on the contractor fraud occuring on her watch while she was chairperson of the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs. Fact is, there won't be any substantial change in Iraq policy while she is in the Senate and this is what Tom Allen has to point out. He will and the race will tighten up. Maine residents know this, too.
What a joke. Didn't you watch the Kerry campaign? Running "against" someone lasts about 5 minutes. We know she is a moderate Republican, thanks for the revelation. what the hell is he, besides a do-nothing Congressman wanting to cash in on a Senate pension?
What a joke back to you... What happened to Rick Santorum? What happened to George Allen? What happened to Jim Talent?
What happened to Lincoln Chafee (he was the definition of moderate... Collins is no Chafee)? Conrad Burns? I could go on. She is them, opthorpe. If you think this campaign is going to be like 2004, you are sadly mistaken.... go to Senate Guru 2008 blog spot com for more news. If she supports the war in Iraq, she is not a moderate. Did you watch the 2006 campaign?
I don't agree with the video because, as I said, he should be using different tactics... like saying that Iraq policy won't change while she is Senator and for that, Maine needs to change Senators... she is for the status quo in Iraq... Allen is not... that's the way he has to run.
And the hope is VoteVets goes after her next with out of state money!!!! Just like they went after George Allen, Conrad Burds, and Rick Santorum... I know you remember those videos... it's only a matter of time!!
Wow. This is issue-oriented campaign that Tom Allen promised? I can't tell if this is a clever parody of a bad campaign ad or just stupid. I'm leaning toward stupid.
Are they going to run another one showing that she campaigned for Joe Lieberman, a democrat, the same year? If anything, when you put the fact that she campaigned for Santorum AND Lieberman, it just shows how bipartisan Senator Collins' actually is.
If there was a point in this video about Senator Collins I missed it but I sure did enjoy the gauzy retrospective on the wardrobe of some guy who used to be a Senator --- it really hammers home the message that he has an impressive collection of seersucker suits and pink ties.
I miss Rick Santorum. He was a great senator.

This video is stupid. Not only is the point indecipherable, but you can't even read the text.
Lame.
