Over the last century people have been to removed from the facts of life. They don't realize that their food was once alive and that someone had to kill it, clean it, and serve it to them as food (even vegans). If these people were killing for just the teeth or hide I would have a problem with it, but clearly they are doing it for food and tradition.Scenes like this has happened for hundreds if not thousands of years and they harvested all that they could before discarding what was left.
