  • I just went through (for my first time) as the default FemShep on Insantiy in ME2, she rocks and Hale did a great job bring her to life in this franchise.

  • FemShep FTW

  • This is one "tight" video. =p

  • name of the song at the intro please

  • All hail Jennifer Hale.

  • Mass Effect 3 GOTY 2012. Skyrim and Diablo can suck it( lol no they are great games) Fuck that the Mass Effect trilogy is the game of the generation. Bioware took the RPG and intertwined it with a TPS so perfectly that this game belongs in a league of it's own. I am happy to have played these games. Now to wait for my collectors box. Funny bioware must be E-stalking me, because ME3 comes out on my birthday...

  • Perhaps sexist was too strong a word, and I apologize for that. I suppose I was the one to lead off on this unfortunate tangent. I could counter, but this was not the original argument. The original post stated that FemShep would be incapable of doing what she does. This, I disproved- in the context of the game a woman would be just as capable, and I believe you conceded on this point. Then we ended up in this more general discussion.

I apologize for trashing the comments section, great video.

  • @XCVGVCX thank you, theres no real need to argue over a game so i aplaud your maturity in apologising

  • I like ManShep better...

  • SUCK

  • I am more of a FemShep fan, but the great think about Mass Effect is that you can play it over in so many new combinations. I have (I believe) 6 distinct playthroughs, half male, half female. I think we all can have what we want. I do like that Femshep is gettin some marketing, though.

  • my FemShep head butted a krogan

  • elbowgrease kinda has a point though, females don't have the physical strength to do some things, navy seals don't allow females in because the stuff they do is too hard for them, that's just one example.

  • @Jebact I read somewhere that women make for better fighter pilots because they tend to be of smaller build and have sharper reactions, but you never see people claiming the Air Force should be closed to men.

  • @Jebact exactly. i have nothing against femshep but as you said, in my mind soldiers are mostly men because in real life they are. i just feel asthough i cant become engulfed in the game if shepards a woman because it feels fake

  • @bluescreencommsraw not birth, childhood. if you explore the conversation options with kaiden about his L2 implants, he explains that they're given their implants at a young age and have the option to change they at a latter age. However kaiden chooses not to because of the pain it causes which is a lot worse than some simple arthritis. this also explains why Miranda and jack were raised in facilities. (i know that Miranda's dad was a sicopath but that's besides the point) P.S merry christmas :)

  • @EllboGrease27 Biotic implants, yes. I'm not talking about biotics, I'm talking about other enhancements whatever they might be.

Speaking of biotics... those change everything. When dealing with a biotic, you can't judge based on gender, size, or any of the usual values at all.

  • @XCVGVCX once again that is down to choice tho, some play as a vanguard whilst some play as the soldier. I play as the infiltrator so i doesnt really matter. plus i don t understand why so many people are responding to a comment i posted 3 months ago about what I believe woman are capable of, just because i think that doesnt mean that it's true and i acknowledge that.

  • @EllboGrease27 I think we are drifting from the original argument. The original argument you posted was that women are physically not capable of doing what Shepard does. To that I disagree for reasons previously mentioned. You also have exposed a fundamental flaw in your logic- you think that woman=incapable but acknowledge that it isn't true... what? I *may* be misinterpreting what you said, however, could you clarify that for me?

  • @XCVGVCX i am talking about real life, in real life a woman would not be physically built to endure a war (85% of front line solders are men) however yo are talking about in game, you have been saying that genetice mods can help women with strength and other physically demanding task. when i said that i acknowledge that i was talking abot in game. I acknowledge that in mass effect it's probably possible for a woman to battle however i attempt to play mass effect as I would in real life

  • @EllboGrease27 Ah, I see. I don't agree with you, but I understand what you are saying. I think your view is sexist and ill-informed, actually, but women in warfare RIGHT NOW is another debate.

As for playing Mass Effect like in real life, well, you're missing out on something great. Does this mean you leave Ashley on the ship because she's a woman, or because she's a Williams?

  • @XCVGVCX its not sexist at all its fact, women aren't as strong as men, its scientific FACT. your too politically correct. sexist is believing that woman are inferrior due to irradical misinterpretations, i dont. I am stating fact. It's time to grow up kid. only a child would be so difficult and socially inept.

  • @EllboGrease27 I do not appreciate a personal attack of this nature, and actually find it somewhat laughable.

Women are on average weaker than men, whether this or other factors makes them unsuitable for combat is debatable (and highly debated).

Returning the the original argument, in the context of Mass Effect the answer is a definite "no". I am confused by your comment on playing like in real life- it's a totally different world in a great many ways. Could you elaborate?

  • @XCVGVCX personal attack? you just called me a sexist. its time you wake up. without personal training or other environmental factors all women ARE phsyically weaker than men. whats not to understand? its a fact. you should read charles darwins 'on the origins of species', maybe then you'll begin to understand selective breeding. im done with you, i offer pure fact whilst all you keep saying is elaborate, elaborate, elaborate....

  • @EllboGrease27 It is sexist

  • @PKBitchGirl its not sexist, its the equivelant of saying someone is black. its not discriminating so its not racist, the same applies here. women are physically weaker than men, FACT. is is descriminating? no, so its not sexist

  • Nice musicalization :D

  • Another vote male playing a FEMShephard here. FemShep Rocks!

  • wat is the name of the trailer song?

  • @JuliaJedi Two Steps From Hell - Heart of Courage

  • i am pretty sure their coming out with an official femshep trailer for ME3.

  • Sorry but the original trailer is better.

  • Ohh, wow.. I love the trailer...

I'm not fond of the femshep look. But that's your style and I respect that. But man, the trailer's cutscenes, the music.. It all work out perfectly... Well done :)

  • F!Shep for the win! I mean there was a brief moment of 'EW!' when she kissed Thane... But we can't all be hopelessly devoted to Liara...

  • @PrettyRagdoll

I am though, it's just wasn't my save..Want me to remake it? :P

  • @spigyboy That would be awesome, lol

  • Love it!

  • Damn this Femshep is somewhat ugly but the trailer is beast

  • what be thine music?

  • I think Mark Meer's voice fits the story better. Though Jennifer Hale did a WONDERFUL job.

  • Im Commander Sheperd and... I should go.

  • Thumbs up for generic Shepard faces for both male and female!

    Jesus,BioWare!

  • I love this trailer. So much. I've watched it so many times! Great job!

I just finished my 7th run of ME2. I'm all hyped up and so anxious for ME3! Ah!

  • This video tells the truth - Jennifer Hale is one of the best V.O. artists in the industry, it was criminal to underuse her in promoting this product, so gad they are getting ti right 3rd time around.

  • It's so funny how people start to offend each other because of something so silly. So BioWare gave us the option to be a male & a female. What's so bad about that? For me it's more like a prove that BioWare "cares" about all their fans, male & female. =O

  • pretty slick vid

  • Real men play as FemShep.

  • @benvines good words, if you play with male shepard, having female option, you're gay u.u

  • Comment removed

  • I play as male and female Shepard. I love the fact taht RPG's like TES, ME and DA give you the option of gender and make it a different experiance ^_^

  • Will ME3 be a Xbox exclusive? If so, ill go hang myself. Maybe god has an xbox with a copy of ME3 that hed let me play =/

  • @FinalNinja447 XD No. It's coming out for PC and PS3 too, I think. ^_^

  • You guys are seriously starting to piss me off... really the whole "Female" "Male" thing is really just.... ignorant, my uncle was in the united states marine core, and he had 3 girls in his platoon and they were just like the guys.

Fighting over a videogame when they had to fight together IN REAL LIFE! girls and guys should just come together and stop all the BULLSH!$

  • @XxHacked Plus, people have different tastes but some other people are immature and and they respect that.

  • @XxHacked Don't*

  • Comment removed

  • Your FemShep looks very like mine so I can hardly unlike this. Good work.

  • I used to always play MaleShepard, but yesterday i created a Femshep in ME2. Femshep isnt better or worse than Male Shepard, its just interesting to see the ME universe from the other gender...........

  • FemShep is clearly superior. In every way, frankly. Especially the voice acting. No disrespect to Mark Meer, but Jennifer Hale kicks his ass in acting skill.

  • I don't know why but femshep just fits for perfectly in the mass effect story I have a tough time believing maleshep in it. maybe it's just me. I don't know. Either way, game is great and I fully enjoy it. Can't wait for mass effect 3. Where I will most likely only use femshep lol. FemShep all the way!! :D

  • Man, I tried a second playthrough with a maleShep and I just kept thinking "who is this asshole...oh wait." It just didn't feel right when Shepard wasn't a woman.

  • @sabresister Same thinking is there for those who play as male 1st

  • CC Ruins Epicness

  • U like that u son's of bitches! 1:46

  • Female Gamers All Day !

  • I havent seen the original, but I play femshep and I luv this soo much, as for the comment below me, not as much sexist as biased.

  • @EllboGrease27

Well, most of the time Shepard is just squeezing a trigger. Other physical things are just running etc. A girl can throw a punch as good as any, so it's really only down to the question whether FemShep should be able to catch a falling Krogan :)...but if you ask me, that is a good question in both cases.

  • @spigyboy :)

  • @EllboGrease27 Clearly you've never met a Female Marine.

  • @justforfun1991 they're aren't any females in the UK forces....excluding doctors/engineers

  • @EllboGrease27

    WRONG!

    LIES!

    FALSEHOODS!

    MISINFORMED!

    Need I go on?

  • @BackhandTrebond ur retarded, they dont allow females to fight in combat but rather hire them for secondary work (not that their work is any less important)

  • @EllboGrease27 That means the UK is backward

  • @EllboGrease27 You mean like warp space/time with their minds? No, I don't think any woman could do that. But broshep sounds like he's announcing a basketball game every time he speaks, so he needs to step aside.

  • @EllboGrease27 even a male would be unable to do it. i am not saying you are an ass, becuse your point is actually not a 100% lie. but still it's a game enjoy the game or don't play it:P

  • @gmodzombieteam huh? i love this game! its one of my two favourites besides gears of war, i just said that i prefer the male shep because in my eyes shepard is to commanding to be a woman (i dont have a problem with femshep but i just play as male shepard)

  • @EllboGrease27 Well This shepard either male or female got augmented, so it's pretty reasonable for her to beable to do all sorts of thing male shepard can.

  • @EllboGrease27 sei uno schifoso figlio di troia

  • @sakura800 respond to an English comment in English next time...

  • @EllboGrease27 I'd agree that most women wouldn't be up to what Shepard does. The key word there is most- not all. As a female, I recognize that physically we tend to be weaker than men. That is fine. I understand. But there are women who are the exception to that rule- who are just as physically capable as men. Also, Shep doesn't do all that much that requires super strength. She runs, shoots, etc, etc. I think her true strength lies in her leadership and mental ability.

  • @missmanda25 yes i can see that :) but tbh as i am a male i find quite disturbing when other males play as femshep, i feel that mass effect is a game that you get engrossed by, you become shepard. so i couldnt do that as playing as a female... it seperates me from shepard

  • @EllboGrease27 Agreed

  • @EllboGrease27 A female shepherd would be supported by biotics and years of futuristic military training, just as a male shepherd would be. I don't see any reason she wouldn't be able to do all the things he could.

  • @EllboGrease27 By 2183, genetic and cybernetic mods are standard for Alliance soldiers, and armour is to at least some degree powered. In addition, Shepard becomes highly augmented in the beginning of Mass Effect 2. In the context of Mass Effect, this is a moot point.

  • @XCVGVCX depending on background choice, shepard would not have been born into the alliance and not have recieved modifications. which is why he has intrest in kaiden's L2 implants. also, i play my ME games in order, importing my saves so i stay as a man in ME2 after finishing ME1, however i like the way you think

  • "Plus a little girl on Asari action never hurts :P"

    Agreed!

  • That's very well put together, although some parts I felt was lacking. Like when it shows Thane falling over the edge, you could have had Shepard shouting "Thane!" much like it has the male Shepard shouting "Tali!" on the original trailer. I know she shouts his name in the game at a certain part in the ending (judging by your decisions made) which I will not mention due to spoilers.

Either way this is a great job.

  • thanks for this great video! is always nice to know that someone thinks to us femshep!;)

  • Is that just me, or does she look a bit like Ziva?

  • fucking awesome job mate

  • Don't remember the source, but due to good response from fans toward femshep, she's supposed to show up in the upcoming trailers for ME3.

  • Wow crazy good job on this.

  • Go FShep!

  • Oh yea so thats your job (not the 2-nd trailer as i thought)

Well in that case that is AWESOME

  • Well i am boy but i must say that Shepard is Hotter, Awesomer and more Epic XD

  • Great video! Also, thanks for including an intro skip. I'm so tired of people forcing me to watch their crappy intros... Not that yours is crap. I loved Toonami as a kid.

  • I got a Paragon white male Shepard and a Renegade black female Shepard through ME and ME2.

    I love them both.

Now, what this trailer reminds me is how awesome the ME2 companions are and how much better they are than the "Virmire survivor" (choose: most boring man ever, or most annoying woman ever?), or even Garrus.

Too bad that, apparently, ME3 will have the companions from ME and the ME2 ones will take a back seat.

  • I always choose to play as female Shepard on every playthrough.Girl power. ^.^

  • great work, i prefer femshepard so much better voice

  • I thought Thane was drell, not asari.

  • @picklepie101 Thane IS drell, this person was simply momentarily mistaken. =)

  • Odd, I never got that scene where Thane punches the table. Where's that from?

  • @DmonHiro It's the, ah, love scene. You have to court him first.

  • @picklepie101

Oh right, when he says that he wasn't afraid of death before, but now he was, and it frustrated him. Yeah, that was an awesome scene.

  • I prefer the male shepard acting but you're right, they should create alternate trailers. Great work on changing it up - I think using the final jump sequence to end the trailer was a better choice than the ship crashing sequence which the official trailer portrays, even if some might say it may be a little cliched.

  • Two Steps from Hell + Mass Effect = <3

  • Chek my Mass Effect Video :)

    /watch?v=NHui0FxOB-o

  • YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEYYY!!!!! Girlsheps!

  • this is fabulous!! i was just watching the other version, sitting here wondering WHY there couldn't be a trailer with femshep, watching male!shep in a trailer is like watching a total stranger. and jennifer hale's VA is the bomb.

  • I like your version. Also, thanks for giving us ladies and gents Thane instead of the Kanye West look alike..not that Jacob sucks-it's just-Thane is better. By a long shot.

  • hey hey guys Kasumi will be in mass effect 3 and romancible option Yay! *and there was a lot of rejoicing*

  • @iKillwolfZX Who are the other romance options?

  • I prefer your version to the original trailer. The game's already been out for quite a while and this got my spine all tingly. XD wow.

  • I love this! :) And I actually prefer your version over the original trailer. I've never really liked femsheps voice but I usually end up playing as a female anyway...probably because of my obsession with Garrus.

  • Always liked the idea of the female. David Weber's Honor Harrington. Elizabeth Moon's Heris Serrano. Kicking arse.

  • nah male shepard has better voice acting

but female shep looks a lot better

  • @Slodogk Femshep has better bad-ass voice acting.

  • @unglaublichRodario

    yea i guess

overall though...mmmno but thats my opinion

  • I applaud your excellent work Serah Spigyboy! this is one of the best fan-made trailers I've seen to date...!

  • I like Femshep I get more into the character then with the guy.

  • am i really the only one who liked browshep better than femshep? o_O

  • I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite unofficial trailer on the Internet.

  • Comment removed

  • Female Shepard is just so friggin' badass. It's SEXY!!

  • Primarily a custom manshep here, never rolled a femshep, but this is... it's awesome. If this is who Shepard is to you then all credit to you, Mass Effect is all about being your own character, and if that character happens to be someone who doesn't appear in the promotional material then so be it.

  • Best thing about ME is that Shepard fits it, effortlessly, with the same dialogue, decisions and actions as a woman compared to the male version.

  • I feel like Shepard plays a better role as a girl. The voice acting seems a lot better and you feel more badass.

  • That looks like my femshep. :)

  • They announced that FemShep will have part in ME3's future trailers. And there was much rejoicing.

  • anyone else that is feeling EPIC when watching this? yes? good

  • I hate that there are no official femshep trailers. This is awesome! My new favorite video.

  • please, my female shepard looks way hotter than the shepard in the trailer and to think jennifer hale was the voice; if there was ever a woman like shepard with the looks i chose (caramel skin, smexy hari, hazelnut eyes) i'd turn lesbian for her...

  • Words do not describe how much I love this game. And thank you, for giving female Shepard some love, she and Jennifer Hale deserve it. I personally find femShep more badass than maleShep, so thank you.

  • Despite a few differences, this is very well done. What a shame there's no "Tali!" scream here, though.

  • I think the female lead makes it even more epic.... :D

  • It's better because sex sells xD

  • Ive played both female and male shepards, I think the male is better (i am a guy) because the female shepard has a "i dont give a shit voice"

  • @XxHacked I agree. I played through the first couple of missions as Femshep, and all i could hear from the tone was "I'm so bored". Sure, some lines are better than Manshep, but i still think hes better.

  • this is creature talks intro :]

  • I can't stop watching this trailer! You have managed to get all of the best nerdgasms from the game. Bravo! The music choice is excellent... I cried at the symphony entrance w/ the strongly worded reviews at the beginning, and at the ending climax. What made it for me? Frustrated fist pound in sync with the music. Badass biotic move standing tall. Garrus riding a collapsing platform casually. The legacy and mystery of the omega 4 relay. The cut jump at the end... genius!

  • @windson7 never watched Tomb Raider? lol

  • @immortalfool1 well... what i meant was as long as they have big shaky boobies :))))

  • @windson7 you ever played fallout 3? the girls can use all the guns as the men.

  • @Kraele thats just wrong

  • The femshep trailer is much better, I'm a guy

  • ive got both a Fem and Male Shep and honestly i like the female shep better than the male, also im a dude :P

  • @warlic234 i know what you mean just because your a dude doesnt mean you always want to be the male charackter. its more fun to be femshep than that emotionless douche

  • @Borinater3 Maybe he IS slightly emotionless in some scenes, but all I hear from Hale is "I'm so bored". SLIGHTLY EMOTIONLESS IS BETTER THAN "I DONT GIVE A SHIT" PEOPLE. >:|

  • @TDA792 Just to clarify, I don't actually have anything against Femshep. I have a Femshep profile ready for importation to ME3 as well as a Manshep profile. I just hate people who go round dissin' the voice acting of Manshep.

  • @TDA792 dude relax i love the male character too but i like femshep slightly better thats all

  • Comment removed

  • @Borinater3 What? instead of saying the first bit in dutch, you could say the ENTIRE thing in english. I still dont know what u mean, "Respond to this video" i think i am right now. XD

  • @TDA792 sorry my original message was just damn humans sorry. that other part got added by some stupid youtube glith or something.......

  • @Borinater3 Huh. wierd. :S

  • Comment removed

  • @jokerbz22 I really see don't see why people is making such a big deal, I'm a dude and I play with mine FemShep Zoey Sheppard besides I do believe the game resonates in a different way with a female protagonist...

  • male sheppard is just another male macho leading char like so many in this time of videogames, female shep is a born leader, she didn't ask to become it but she is strong and has natural charisma/

  • Female Shepard just blows Male away. Unless you want to have lips thicker than your wrist or want to talk like a illiterate sportscaster, you will play as a Female.

  • @J0NDUDE I played male because I wanted to play male. Duh.

  • This trailer convinced me to buy the game, best game I've ever played.

  • Female Shepard FTW People!

  • I got chills.

So either a Ghost has just entered my room or this trailer is phenominal! Good job!
