I am so sick of ADTR. They copy so many breakdowns and guitar riffs. Not to mention that they are shitty people in general. bassist got charged of raping a 14 year old girl. bleh. I definitely prefer throwdown.
not gonna debate whether its the same thing or not, it's the same rhythm though, the drums are the same, the only thing different is the guitar fill piecing the breakdown together. just remember, all the scene core stuff has already been done before, it's just watered down for the kiddies now.

It's a breakdown, every breakdown sounds very much the same. Your point is invalid. this video is a waste of time. I can show you 30 different breakdowns with similar chugging. That's not in anyway a complex breakdown.
people that defend this have got to be idiots. there's an infinite amount of numbers to use in a bass drum/guitar chug pattern. don't you dare say it's impossible to be original. this is a straight rip off.
@acanham30 Coming from the kid trying to bash me on the Internet, good debate. Oh and by the way, using the word fuck validates your point that much more...
@acanham30 Ok I would have taken this down if everyone would have disagreed but in this case it's pretty even. So now I just like hearing people agree or complain that I'm wrong and have no life. So thanks for playing!!
adtr sucks and they rip other bands off on every song they have and for anyone who says breakdowns r all the same ur clearly listening to shitty music like adtr where all theyre breakdowns are the same listen to born of osiris or after the burial and tell me those breakdowns r just like these u scene faggots, keep listening to hot topic metal, ur cool
so for all you that dont kno anything didnt the guy that produce this record also produce throwdowns record..so they clearly kno its identical just adtr is superior
I thought the same when I first heard 2nd sucks. And I agree, they sound alike. Coincidence or stolen, its the same. And to everyone saying throwdown sucks...maybe all you are little 13 year olds that are barely listening to hardcore. Throwdown is one of the true fathers of the hardcore we listen to now a days. True disrespect to hardcore and what it stands for.
Honestly, from hearing the Throwdown song, I really shouldnt be able to tell instantly that 2nd sucks would be the song playing after. But I still love ADTR. :)
it's all coincidence. with all the bands and music out there, it's hard to write a breakdown (since they consist of one chords more often than not) without it sounding alike to another one.
Oh and last point.... About 3/4 of you are like "oh man it's a riff that sounds like another and besides adtr did it better".... I hope you realize, that by saying "adtr did it better." you are saying that they did actually take the riff from somewhere else. Check yo self before you wreck yo self.
... pick breakdown back up and finish with catchy chorus. It's sickening to think you guys consider them original. I have a alist of things they have stolen... 1) Throwdown riff 2) the beeping you hear in "you already know what you are" is stolen from the end of Recon's "eraser" 3) The talking in heartless is quite similar to the part in memphis will laid to waste. 4) I'm made of wax has a very very similar riff from a JEW song... and that's just to name a few. Get your head's out of ADTRs asses
" ohhh adtr did it soooo much better, that other band blows etc. etc." You obviously don't know your roots. If it weren't for bands like Throwdown... who knows where Hardcore or "heavy" music would be. Get off adtr's dick and wake up and realize they are not original. Listen to the album homesick in it's entirety and you'll see that every single song has, literally, the exact same blueprint and goes as follows... Heavy verse, catchy chorus, intro to breakdown, breakdown, slow down breakdown...
Okay, to all of you who are "for" this video, thank you for agreeing with me and my friend. Secondly, for all those opposed, you guys need to realize that, yes, a lot of breakdown rhythms do sound A LOT alike... no arguing there. It's just that this is almost an exact replica of Throwdown's "Walk Away". It's not the first time ADTR has copied off of someone else either, but I'll explain that later. I also enjoy the fact how you say guys say...
@unclesam6 Same rhythm, different notes. It doesn't matter. A lot of alternate picking riffs sound the same, but nobody accuses the band of "stealing." It's music, listen to it an enjoy it.
doesn't really matter because Throwdown doesn't even play hardcore anymore, they are too busy trying to suck Pantera's dick...and this is coming from a Throwdown fan
When a band listens to alot of the same music, sometimes they write music that sounds like the shit they listen to.. tons of bands i know have done the same fucking thing, its not intentional its just influenced from bands they like.
A Day To Remember Steals a lot, listen to the song Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste by Norma Jean, and Compare it to Heartless by ADTR. It's the part where the singers are talking that are JUST ALIKE. Like really it's so obvious.
I just kind of think it's unrealistic to think while writing 2nd sucks they said "Hey let's just steal that Throwdown riff." It's more than likely a coincidence. Just the other day my band played a new Emmure track for me and my drummer said "listen.. it sounds exactly like this part in our song." Shit happens.
P.S. if they were going to intentionally steal.. 2nd sucks? That song certainly isn't boosting their career.. I just don't buy that it was intentional.
since there are a finite number of chords and notes on a guitar OBVIOUSLY you will find some songs that sound similar, and since this a breakdown of course it will sound even more the same. Breakdowns, no matter what band it is, sound more or less the same
Listen to alot of other break downs! They all sound very similar in every song in every band. Compare them and tell me if they all don't sound similar
@SkateWithTheMusic yea all right but this one is exactly the same!i say nothing when this bands are small/underground bands...but they are not!no matter :)
if it was a guitar lead or something i would probably agree. but seeing as how it's a breakdown this is ALMOST a pointless argument. Look at deathcore bands, they must all steal breakdowns from each other because they all sounds very similar
I am not trying to defend ADTR, though I am a fan. And for all I know, they could steal riffs. But this isn't stolen, it's actually quite different. Interesting video, though.
@guitartim2010 There are only 2 small differences.. guitars are tuned differently and one small part @ :33 that is literally it. the timing is even the exact same.. and it's not the first time they have stolen something.
@xfireworksx88 "Breakdown" riffs all pretty much sound the same, and with bands like these, there's usually not much diversity in them. If you think they steal, then that's your opinion. I don't care either way, because I enjoy ADTR's music. So if they are stealing, I think they're just making it better. That's just my opinion.
@absolutebalderdash hahaha garbage band? how old are you? you need to learn your roots kid. If it wasn't for bands like throwdown, I can 100% guarantee that bands like A Day To Remember would not be around.
