You are right, the image might be somewhere in the internet wrongly applied to him , but that is not prooving anything. I think, the man on the photo is Franz Rosenzweig, by the way.

@proustmarcel06 Well, the Center for German and European Studies at Brandeis has an image of both of them and credits that picture as WB. I know I've seen in it print somewhere as well--can't remember where. They do look alike of course and none of this is conclusive but I'm leaning towards Benjamin on this one.

@freshacconci Good evening! -- Yeah, I have seen the Brandeis page, but I really think they made a mistake. I would only trust printed sources in this case. I recently checked all my Benjamin documentaries/publications, but I haven't found

this one in it. Ok, that's no proof either, but what really makes me sure is his profile on the photo… it just looks so different if you compare it to others…
