  • Does anyone have the album that came out before "do wah diddy"??

  • is he using a blues harp or harmonica and I wonder what key it is in

  • I was there, what a great show.. they sounded great then

  • @petergarofalo seriously so u can remember the acts that didnt make it on the DVD of this show

  • Vox Continental is the organ --made in England -wooden keys--

  • does anybody know what kinda organ he plays? Hohner Cembalet?

  • @mtwallet That's a Hohner Pianet, but it's a strange rare model. It seems to be in between a Pianet N and a Pianet C and has a tube preamp. I have the exact same model but can't find any information on it. It just says "Pianet" nothing more..

  • Funky good!!!

  • best garage punk sound !

  • No wonder why these guys contributed one of the greastest rock n roll songs ever!!! WA diddy do, astounding, pure proffessional muscianship at its crispy crisp!!! Stupendious stuff. Like puff rice made out of thin air.

  • Ray Charles and Shakespeare mixed with suburban british lads, fun.

  • how about wow

  • What song are they playing at 0:04-0:30?

  • Manfred and Tom are so cute!

  • Long live Manfred Mann rockin' that Hohner Pianet!!

  • I need a Hohner Pianet...

  • Awesome!

  • Would Brian Jones be still alive if Paul Jones said yes when Brian asked him to be the lead singer of the group he was forming?

  • Very astute, when Brian and Paul played in Oxford, he was Brian's first choice. He really

didn't want Mick for a singer,

Paul was better looking, better singer and better harp player anyway!

  • Tom looks very handsome from 3.15 to 3.20.

  • ray charles

  • They had a terrific garage band sound in the early years!

  • This Pianet rocks!

  • rubbish, later songs with Mike D'abo were better

  • Don't talk daft.

  • well i think so

  • sticks and stones kicks ass!!!!

  • Congratulations!. Is very difficult to get matter from this historic british band, although Manffred was born in South Africa. With the excellent Paul Jones singing and in armonicha, this video is a JEWLERY!.

Willy, from Argentina. Ex prof. drummer and Sax from CBS Records, Mandioca Records and other houses and bands.

  • I wonder how many people know that their bass player Klaus Voorman was the artist who did the cover for the Beatles "Revolver" album and the Beatles "Anthology" albums .

  • he's not in this clip though, Klaus joined in 66. Tom McGuinness on bass here.

  • I did, and have an album of recordings that they made at Bruno Kochschmeiders, De Kaiserkeller Club in Hamburg Germany. That's where Klaus first met the Beatles!

  • @Highpoint211 he's not on this clip though, Klaus joined in 66

  • @Highpoint211 That's not Klaus here izzit?

  • In fact, Tom McGuinness was their bass player from 63- 66 and shifted to guitar, but Klaus got into Manfreds from 66. Awesome music they played!!

  • @Highpoint211 Klaus wasn't the bass player at this point in the band's history. He didn't join the band until after Jack Bruce left to form Cream. The bass player here is Tom McGuinness.

  • @Highpoint211 I don't think Klaus was the bass player for the band at this point. He joined after Jack Bruce left to form Cream.

  • I'm curious as to the ages of people on this

site. I was 12 when the Beatles invaded America.

I'm sure there are a lot of baby boomers here.

but I suspect some gen Xers also love the music.

    yes?

  • I'm only 16 and I'm in love with the early 60s. I like the Manfreds they are pretty good. I love the Beatles, but more than that I love the Monkees. I already have seen Micky Dolenz. I think that the 60s set the foundation for the music generation, and Iwould love to have lived during that era.

  • This NME performance put a lot of other bands to shame, but the fans were too young to realise it.

  • Great to see the Manfreds cutting loose and live. Wonderful post.

  • what a snarly punk band they were back in 64. Thanks for this post.

  • 1964-1967 produced some of the best music in the world - EVER !

  • i agree all though i think it is 1963-1968 is the best

  • "The Manfreds". Great to all see all these Brit Invasion 60s bands in their early stages. Thanks so much nyrainbow2 for all your work.

  • great! live material of this group from the sixties is rare. manfred rocks!
