This movie reminds me of Taxi Driver. Seth Rogan's character is on the brink of a phychotic breakdown held at bay by delusions of self grandure, loyalty to his friends and family, and a dream. The entire movie its like watching a person tap dance on a mine field. Seth Rogan's character seems pathetic on the surface but is very nobel and likable underneath (as long as he takes his meds every 4 to 6 hours).

This movie was 10% hilarious, 40% "meh" and 50% sucks.

Everyone except Rogen was an undeveloped cardboard cutout, just taking up space on the screen. Rogen does a passable job but the movie is ruined by turning the main character from a take no guff, alpha male type (falsely portrayed in the trailers and ads for this film) into a joke by making him a delusional psychopath who stops taking his meds.

None of you get it. This movie isn't trying to be a goofy comedy like everybody expected. It is more than that. It's a dark film, with comedy in it. IT is a GREAT film. I was happy that it was the opposite of what I expected. It is SEth Rogen's best film to date.

I am glad he is getting negative press on this movie, in particular the controversy over the date-rape scene. Only Seth would agree to participate in such a horrendous, unfunny, unjustified, clip in a movie. Seth, your 15 minutes of fame should be up in about 10 seconds.

The story does end up to be pretty basic but it was one of those movies that seemed like it could branch of in many different directions at different points. It was pretty unpredictable and random but ultimately ended up normal. It was entertaining and funny all the way through. Great movie.
