If I would have met Ian Hutchinson and did not know he was a speed demon I would thought he is rather a waiter than a pro racer. He is so calm and quiet.
the rider at 6:30 showed love between him n the bike and crash with it, i would do the same, bikes are not toys, their like your child... if that make sense
@Gatrenzwerg Hey. Selbst ich (bin zweisprachig aufgewachsen, Mom kommt aus England) hab teilweise Probleme Guy zu verstehen. Aber da an dem Punkt erzählt er von seinem Crash, dass er den Bordstein mit ca 120mph mitm Arsch erwischt hat, aber sich nicht verletzt hat, wohingegen sein Bike komplett zerstört war. Es hat ihn nicht wirklich erschrocken, aber so n Crash is immer hart... Das erzählt er ;)
Not just to the TT, also martial arts, various winter and extreme sports, motorboat/autoraces and so on. There are even many horse-(1HP!)-jockeys deceased.

@ZooTV81 Obviously, What i was getting at was the fact that every other form of racing has had to undergo massive improvements to safety, where as the tt has not, death or glory is a turn of phrase really, it does fit the tt quite well though!
There is nothing to compare it with .... its like being able to fly like growing wings ...If it's in your blood you can't get it out... you just want more...
I really hope this is Guy's year 2012 T.T. Winner. Come on Guy were willing you to win.
@whylie74 all t.he riders come across as bog standard guys,non of them are cool or even try and act cool,but they must enter a parrallel universe when they get on the bikes,and emerge gods...makes you see what tossers most sporting celebs are
@pomplumber Its a bike thing I think, riding/racing around on a motorbike seems to keep you normal, for the most part even the MotoGP boys are some what normal (they do have thier Diva like moments though).
If I was at that race, and I was where guy was in that fire ball, I would run up to him screaming GUY!! GUY!! And hug him...even though he was knocked out...:S But still! xx <3

I love how quiet and understated Hutchy comes across in comparison to Guy. Both riders are amazing. This was my favourite film of the year its under the christmas tree in dvd form ready to be watched almost as soon as opened.

well to reduce the iom to only Death or glory is not the point. Surely this are aspects which most people think of when they hear about the tt.
When u have a look at some Interviews by the tt riders or read some "non-dramatic" authentic report u´ll find out its so much more than this
