I was so excited to finally see my favourite movie of all time (mind you, I'm now 21 so this has been a favourite of mine since I was a kid) come to life so eloquently and wonderfully on the stage! Please bring it back to the stage! I would definitely pay to see the Lion King again. Wonderful!
@willbeanz1 the one at disney world is so not the same as the real brodway version the disney one is downplayed will the characters being disticnt figures from the movie like sima is shown as a animated statue that looks like the movie same with timone pumba and so on. the original brodway one gives a new life to the characters giving them more human qualitys that you can relate to just saying not trying to be mean just saying lol :)
This is bloody amazing I have been to London theather to watch this and it's bloody AMAZING from start to finish I had goose bumps the whole way though it was Belond AMAZING
If there is one term that is overused in our world, it's "genius". Many are callled geniuses, or things "works of genius" that are excepional, but not that rarefied top level.
That doesn't apply to Julie Taymor, the worman responsible for this production. She IS a genius....no question. And this will always be rememberd as one of her greatest works.
Magical jus simply Magical! If they did the Lion King On Tv all the time instead of all tha reality shows & bad news & raunchy shows thay got out now, this will open up alotta ppls eyes, let you see what real beauty is
I have never seen this live, because i can never afford it, but even on youtube, this is absolutely stunning. Words can't describe. Breath-taking, stunning, brilliant, fanstastic, epic, amazing; every word in this category describe this. Just simply amazing...
@BickleighJoker as a person who has saw it live it is the most breath-taking thing i ever witnessed in my life you should go and see it does'nt matter if you can't afford it is something that will fullfill every penny you spend on a ticket!
I remember seeing this in Boston with friends. We brought children and I expected it to be something mainly for the kids...yet the opening scene was so amazing--it had me in tears. dont buy the dvd. doubtful there is one. you HAVE to see it live! Amazing costumes!
It was the most amazing thing i have ever been to! I saw it in Alaska! OMG I cried a few times mostly cuz i was so excited and it was that amazing and when mufasa died!! OMG
i seen this show last friday the 15th Jan on Broadway and it was simply INCREDIBLE!...an absolute masterpiece,i paid $320 for two front row seats and bhoy was it worth every cent,i will be seeing again the next time im in NY...
omg i just came back from seeing this tonight and it was the most INCREDIBLE production i've ever seen in my life! there are simply no words to describe what an awesome experience it was. beautiful from start to finish!!!

whats so amazing about lion king broadway is that you dont look at the people and think 'oh thats a person waving around a bird' or 'its a guy in stilts with a giraffe head' u forget they're human.
THIS IS THE BEST SHOW THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN WASHINGTON, i live in yakima, so all that we have here is the capitol theatre, and we could never put on a preformance like the one that I saw in Seattle, I saw it at The Paramount, and i completely disagree with the person that said that the london rafiki was better, the us tour rafiki is a south african native, so she was much better at singing this music, she was absolutly hilarious!!!!! the "do you 'click' understand?" was the best!!!
i saw this show and when we were being seated they said"front row" me and my dad looked at my mom and she was like SURPRISE! it was so cool to be close up!
I just gazelle company last night.Phine Mkhize was an excellent Rafiki. I loved her, and the rest of the cast, too. This show is INCREDIBLE- seriously, julie taymor (director, costume designer, and mask/puppet co-designer) is a GENIUS
