  • Awww how sad... poor baby's.. ):

  • how big of a cage do they need?

  • @VirtualChris100 umm i'd say at least a 40gallon or more...they're ground animals so the more floor space the better

  • @Zimdeballpython alright thanks.. im thinking about getting one could u help me out with basic care? i cant really find much online. what kind of heating is best? how ofter do they eat? whats the best food to feed them? what should the temperature be at ? sorry for all the questions.

  • looks like the basilisk on harry potter haha

  • I just found one in my backyard yesterday when I mowed the lawn. Cool animal!

  • I have just found 2 baby ones that are yellow and an orangey browny one which is a little bigger and I have tried feeding them slugs, worms and a spider but they won't eat it plzz help me on what to do!

  • @brandonashplant try crickets depending on how big they are they should be able to eat either 3/4" or so...

  • @Zimdeballpython they are European Legless lizards and 2 are tiny like 5cms long and the bigger on is like 11cms

  • @brandonashplant ok yeah they should be able to eat a cricket that is about the distance between each eye ...this may be as small as pinhead crickets but ya gunna wanna go pick up some from a local pet store or order some online from a reptile feeding place...most are measured in inch lengths here O.o and i'd go with a 3/4" cricket .. offer them some canned wet cat food until you can get the crickets...try to get cat foods that consist of meat only.

  • @Zimdeballpython ok thanks I have set up a tank for them with a drink bottle cap for water and another drink bottle cap with calcium powder in :D

  • @brandonashplant ok be sure to try to get them a shallow water dish at some point and a shallow food dish or plate to put their food on. they are primarily insect and meat eaters so don't give them veggies...they like eggs 2 so you can give them a little though since they're small they probably won't be able to eat a full egg. (when you give them egg crack it don't just set an egg in there. you can also boil the egg) if you can find Taegu and monitor food they like that 2. clean out food daily

  • @Zimdeballpython ok but do I give them smashed egg shell or the actual egg inside and can I give them fruit and veg sometimes?

  • @brandonashplant they don't need fruit an' veggies an' i'm not sure how good it is for them....just give them the inside of the egg not the shells. they'll eat that. also every once in a while you can sprinkle some calcium dust on their insects or cat food.

  • Awesome! I just caught a 2ft Eastern Glass Lizard in the back yard. Strong for the size. Been debating what to do with him. Feed to my king snake, keep as another pet, or release. I fed a small 8inch one already. And I see 2 or 3 almost every time I cut the grass here.

  • @locomojo04 oh 's cool o3o

  • what's a pinky

  • @YINGAI1995 a baby mouse

  • I caught one of these in foley alabama yesterday near wetlands I thought it was a lizard because of it's heavy body and his big head reminded me of my gecko or a skink.. Awesome reptile!!!

  • @jenncorinne1977 one of those?! must have escaped if it was that specific type cuz they're from Europe not the US.....

  • what if you're a new born baby and i fed you to a crocodile?

  • @nikkolei then i guess i'd be croc food XD they gotta eat too XD

  • @nikkolei thats NATURE. DID YOU SAW A CROC EATING A VEGETABLE IN THE WILD/CAPTIVITY??

  • @ChesleyReptiles why don't you calm the fuck down son and get along with a joke eh?

  • its a burtons legless lizard

  • hey man can you tell me whats the lizard called thats in the same family of the glass snake but its got legs its a lizard

  • @ourfriendtheguitar34 ummm the closest thing i can think of would be a skink....but i could be wrong...

  • @Zimdeballpython aww ok thanks very much man i think it could be a skink too sorry this is my oyherr acount haha

  • ewwwww whats that black stuff?!?!

  • @BlueSparklez67 ummm i'm guessin' ya mean his tongue... he's got a dark purple tip....but it looks black in the video...

  • the poor thing!

  • I love reptiles but I would kill this thing

  • it looks like a basilisk (the fake one)

  • how much are these things?

  • fuck you retards you are ass holes!

  • *cool fact

  • So is it a lizzard or a snake for any of you scientist out there? And I don't want you to rite me an essay but you could include a cool sack if you know one. I really think this is interesting. This is the first time I have ever seen this or heard of it, it was a related vid of a snake

  • @dbunn15 The European legless lizard, also known as the glass lizard, or the scheltopusik, is the largest known species of legless lizard. They can be kept as a pet, and require surprisingly little care in comparison with other exotic reptiles. Their main differences from snakes are the presence of eye lids, ear holes, and smaller, more proportional scale size. Also, they eat insects, unlike more than 95% of snake species..

  • @dbunn15 its a lizard they are east to care for but this spieces gets pretty big and have a nasty bite

  • Wow, that's a big lizard. I have an Eastern Glass Lizard I saved from my mom's cat in the back yard (tail is growing back nicely, too), but he's way too small for pinkies, so I feed him crickets. Needs a bigger cage, though, if anyone has a 50+ gallon aquarium they don't want in Northeast Florida. x3

  • @rxiongstie it's healthy and i had too many for the mom to care for i used to breed for pets and snake food >.> animals have to eat 2 ya know

  • @Zimdeballpython can u feed it crickets

  • @edawgandn8 yup yup he loves crickets, mealworms, probably roaches...though we never feed those to em...an' the occasional pinky mouse ^_^

  • No!! poor pinkies.... I want to save them!

    Oh, well, thats nature :)

  • its a giant slow worm! :o

  • @MrRedeyedJedi he's faster than you think...just lazy cuz pinkies are slow and easy to catch

  • @Zimdeballpython I don't know if anybody"s told you this yet, but a slow worm is another, smaller species of legless lizard. The Scheltopusik (legless lizard/glass lizard), looks remarkably similar to the slow worm, but grows considerably larger. I think that is what he meant by saying that your beautiful lizard was a giant slow worm.

  • It looks like that giant basalisk thing from Harry Potter that traveled through the pipes.

  • yeah strangely though a basalisk is a real lizzard and looks nothing like the thing in the movie lol ^_^

  • I know. She could have come up with a better name for the monster.

How much did you pay for him? Does he need much humidity? I have a uromastyx now and I wonder if they'd get along. lol

  • I'm not sure he doesn't belong to me he's my teacher's i just brought him some of my excess pinkies lol ^_^

  • @skegsrus

  • Oh my god. Are "pinkies" freshly newborns? That's sick. The mother would be pissed off.

  • u know what would be cool? if one of those lizards split one in half.

  • he probably could but my teacher doesn't like to feed him anything larger than pinkies..

  • now, i want oneof thoses, but where do u get them or do u need a special license for it?

  • umm no you don't need a license for them...atleast not in texas...but i don't think so for the US eaither. umm i'd do a check but as far as i know you don't need one. about finding them...i'd look around online for glass snakes or leggless lizards...search google. if I find a site that sells them i'll let you know but yeah that's my best guess cuz my teacher bought hers at a local pet shop where she used to live so yeah they're not common pets but they rock! p.s. always do reasurch before buy'n

  • what are pinkies??

  • Pinkies are baby mice.
