  • how to you connect the whole set to traktor? what cables and where to plug?

  • Hi man, how do I connect my pioneer CDJ-200 and DJM-400 to Traktor in my MacBook Pro? It must be the same way you did, thanks a lot in advance! I just want to save the pain of burning cds to test the music.

  • @IIChengEII

If you think that you're not a real DJ..

DJ-ing needs a certain abilities,.. The ability to beatmatch is one of the most important ones..

Anyway the songs do not always follow each other perfectly BUT this video is from 2008 and were 2012 ;) this guy improved and is one if the better .

  • How did you hook everything up to Traktor pro? can you make a video showing how?

  • you guys are gay ^ and dont know how to beat match , the only skill in dj'ing .

pussys what kinda places do you dj at !? north carolina's butthole ? im from miami and will destroy any of you liitle bitches

  • @wyatthenderson this video was posted about 2 years ago, biggest skill in Dj'ing is not beatmatching, but more music choice + what you do with the songs, i admit i used lots of effects in my mix. but i didn't make any beatmatch mistakes, say what you want. + i'm not from north carolina, i'm from belgium, and i play at the biggest clubs in Gent (check out Culture Club (steve aoki, bob sinclair, ...) + Decadance...

  • @wyatthenderson sry but beatmatching is so 1995 :p

  • @wyatthenderson wow...I have a little dick!

  • @wyatthenderson FASHO!!!

    nah

  • how use CUE button please!!

  • @FrantaHl press play.... you can set a CUE when its blinking..... ... done.

  • Hi man.

Quastion about timecode. When using CDJ 1000, do I still keep all the CDJ's functions ( like: slow-start, reverse, loops ? ).

  • how much did all this equipment cost? because im trying to get my own but dont really know were to start

  • @30thousandd i guess about 5000 dollar 2 years ago... now it would cost bout 3500 or something like it.. don't know exactly

  • @30thousandd

    2 cdj 1000's = €630 *2= 1260

    djm 800=€1550

    ttl = 2810

  • Hey their i have a pair of cdj 800s and djm 800 but i dont know how to get them to work with traktor help plzz...

  • @Franzcabr3ra follow the instrutions, you have lots of tutorials on youtube i bet :)

  • Hey Yo Bro How You Do it To get All This beautiful Setup?

  • @TheDjIon go to the shop & buy it ? :D

  • so do you just have TP setup in external mixer mode for your djm 800? and do the cfx and onboard effects that are on the djm still work?

  • @CSTLRCK jup, all the fx work ( on traktor & on the djm :)) setup is external

  • Nice setup/shit tunes

  • Perfet Mixxing Broo Keep Up The Good Work Man!!!! Cheers Add me And Suscribe Me Broo Hear My Mixxes too Mannn

  • please help !

whats the name of the remix of wear my sunglases at night

can u please send me a link

    please please please :D

  • nice stufff wanna fuck .... ROTFL

  • be*** sorry

  • great mix

i like one day me like you

  • nice mix.. also great gear.. what do you think of djing with traktor vs ableton?

  • @felipescalador I Would love a version of traktor /w abelton, i have found ways to like them both, but havent tried it out live.. just to scared it won't work... mabye with 2 pcs...

    Thank you!

  • WATS THE TRACK LISTE :)

  • song selection and mixing is really good. i do agree with some, that there COULD be too many efx, but that's personal taste... the peaking is a problem man, you have to turn down your main output down-it WILL damage the speakers. "they" are right about that. otherwise, things sound good, i would dance and that's all that matters-if you can get people moving and keep them on the edge of their proverbial seats...

  • Does the CDJ1000 plug into laptop with a USB or do you need the Audio 8 Interface.. I know this is a feature of the CDJ2000 but I know the 1000 had some cool things

  • How can I do timecode? I got 2 cdj 1000, a djm 400, traktor and a sound card with 2 inputs and outputs.

  • Connect your everything up properly and install the software on Windows which allows traktor to see more than one soundcard and then you make something.. eg. CDJ1000 Rack and add all your cdj decks in there.

In traktor just select your added sound card called CDJ1000 Rack which you added all the CDJ1000 decks into and it will auto map them.

  • Too many effects my friends. Too many red lights going off on your mixer. Basically what that means is all the frequency's are amplified too much and damage speakers. If this was a promotional mix you might not get hired because of that (if it was a high end club).

  • does the pitch adjust on the cdj 1000 work with traktor?

  • @cotoronto If timecode is set up properly, you can use cdjs or turntables normally, including the pitch adjust.

  • you use too mch the effects and look at the vu meter of the mixer, all the led are red you will damnage your speaker

  • i noticed the peaking too.

  • too many effects

  • Raga posso sapere qnd costerebbe ?

    x favore xd

  • 2 x cdj1000: 2200-2600 euro (dipende dove li prendi)

    1 x djm 800: 1600 euro

1+ traktor scratch pro: 600 euro

    totale: 4400-4700 euro

  • love that dada life remix of pjanoo... nice mix

  • Sebastien Leger - bad clock (deadmau5 broken clock remix)

  • looooooooooooool

  • your third track isnt the clockwork.. could you just reconfirm it? cheers

  • No, it's a remix from deadmau 5 i think, don't remeber exact :)

  • how do you calibrate the CD's with Traktor, what position does the switch on the cdj have to,doesnt want to work for me! also how do i pull in cd's off my itunes and not have too many in traktor showing down my apple

  • dj store is a fantastic website to get dj gear from!!

  • dope vid. makes me want to get into DJing

  • Just read a couple of comments at the start, If you want to buy any Dj gear eg cdj players, vinyl players, mixer or any of the likes if you are dead set keen on doing this buy brand new mainly for warranty purposes. If you cant get anywhere to buy the gear get it mailed. Check out stockists or the actual company where it is produced (make sure it is legit as I know a few instances where people have paid for gear and it was bogus).

If you really want to learn and do It thats the only way to go.

  • There are some really good sites on you tube as to learn the basics, learn about the basics without having any software so you learn al the basics like beat matching and scratching and the rest. As if you are doing it as a hobby its allot more fun that way myself and a few other dj's I know find it but however allot of d'js that I know who either have residencies or play at gigs now have ditched the cd's and the vinyl and gone to programs

  • When it comes to what program's most programs have free trial's to use for around 10 days so download what ever trials might you might think would suit you and you find best. Now as mentioned previously having one of these programs makes it too easy allot of people I know say and also reckon they have become allot lazier with the basics and the true pattern of the song.

  • Remember what works for someone else might not work with you.

Just a quick couple of sites o you tube to look at-

DJdownlaod TV they have a couple of vids from the likes of Sarah Main, Phill K, James Zabiela

  • ellaskins channel and he is fairly interesting and puts good points across and requests other people's feed back and ideas good or bad.

Check out Corey Black on the How to DJ part in you tube for vinyl as again this guy has easy and effective ways to show you the basics. Another thing to remember is have fun with it, practise practise practise, clear your head and start playing so you can get the feel for it and you will find it allot easier and quicker to catch on

  • Hey Im new to DJing and just tryin to see how this works. Is the software loading an MP3 into the CDJ and then you control the MP3 from the CDJ? Also, can you switch from Software to CD using the same CDJ?

  • Basically, the computer is doing all the work. It plays the music internally then sends it through the soundcard, in this case the Audio 8. The souncard feeds the music into the mixer where it is then fed to the master output of the mixer. The cd players contain "timecoded" disks that tell the computer how fast and where the song is playing.

  • So what would happen if you have a track on CD but not laptop and took a timecoded cd out and put a normal CD in to play a track from??

  • You just change the input on the mixer. So you will be able to play both regular cd's, and timecoded cd's from Traktor.

  • nice job!!!

    ooooooooooooooo

the good old days when you mixed only with vinyls and fking tapes ...try to flanger a tape :O

  • your awesome man put the links to the products u used in the sidebar please like the mixer and the turntables!

can u tell me wich is better to buy a dj midi controller

    ore a

    2 cdj's and a mixer :) please tell me

    ty;)

  • 2 cdj's & a mixer, a midi controller isn't that good... it's more like an extra, but you have some good controllers..

  • Great mix bro =P!

  • killed with effects

  • been spinning over 20 years. you know what your doing. don't listen to the haters. keep going. perfect your craft.

    respect....dj ROLi

  • don't worry about those hater comments. keep up the good work. nice mix. peeps could learn lots from you. they ain't listening cuz' they too quick to judge. but I am...lol....house music forever!!!!!

    much respect.....dj ROLi

  • nice job mate! just one thing though...your mixer is in the red throughout the whole video!! might wanna jus keep an eye on that in future ;o)

  • Yessss I Know, but the djm 800 has lot more headroom then the 700's and i would really need to go into double red++ to get bad sound, but now I keep it in mind :)

  • I always try to mix at three red lights. Doesnt work the mixer as hard

  • Nice gear (and mix) love it! I've just got Traktor scratch Pro, defo need some more practice after watching this though!!! lol

  • like how much did it cost u.

  • too much:)

  • fuck tha haters dog, that mix was sick. I just got to workin with Traktor an got a long way to go lol. that set up is sick, wats it run?

  • thank you:) what do you mean by "wats it run?" ?

  • Really Nice mix. Maybe u've to put less the flanger effect. Anyway, a nice mix.

  • djmad3000 under me lol wat can i say about u.. bro ur name says it all his bein to over 3000 clubs and they all tell him no u cant dj here so now his maddd and goes around leaving lil hating ass comentsss... n.e ways.. nice mix kid keep doin ur thing.

  • you suck ass...not much with the mixing but you sure do know how to mess with the effects...make you own mixes instead of stealing someone elses and claiming them as yours!! One more thing cut that fu cking wrist dancing....no real DJ mixes like that!! Drop a genuine mix and I guarantee you wont have time to dance your hands off....DUMB SH!T

  • haha, I don't see any of your video's? this was just trying out, it was like 6, 7 months ago, i know i did alot of effects, and messed it up, but I didn't feel like doing it again,

& this is my own mix? what do you think? should I make my own Remixes and play them? I don't think you understand real dj'ing.. :)

  • you can't use the audio 8 dj without the scratch version.. + the scratch = Traktor pro + scratch function, you can use both!

  • traktor pro scratch? i mean just traktor pro, not the scratch one

  • ok. ic. so now i've got a fd who has a set of CDJs and Mixer in his private bar, and i wanna play around with it. i need a laptop with traktor pro and an audio interface such as Audio 8, and that's it. ya?

and i can't MIDI control with my CDJs so i can only play/pause, cue, pitch control with my CDJs and that's it. soemthing like that?

  • jep, audio 8 & traktor pro scratch, if your friend had cdj 400's you can map it.. but its best to leave it like it is!:)

your normal cd function are possible

  • so instead of just CDJs, u still need a MIDI controller?

so if i want to use traktor pro for CDJs, i need an audio interface, a single MIDI controller, 2 CDJs and 1 mixer, and the CDJs will be sync with the MIDI mappings?

  • noo... you don't need a midi controller, i just have one because i like to use it:) you need a audio interface, and you cannot midi-map the cdj's ...

  • how is ur setup? do u need a sound card or anything else to connect all these controller?

  • I Use an audio 8 interface, i have a usb hub to power my A&H Xone 1D. i connect my 1D via midi to my Audio 8, and my audio 8 goes to my mac, my other usb port is used for my external hard drive (1 T) my TT & Cdj's are connected to my audio 8 interface via multicore kabels, and then to my djm :)

    hope I helped you out:)

  • hey i see you are using the pioneer djm 800 mixer, i know that has mid but do you know if its possible to assign a button on the mixer to an effect in traktor? or even better could you set it up so that when you use the physical mixer it moves the software mixer for you?

  • Yes, i've tried it and it works perfectly! but it took long to set everything the way i wanted it.. best is a controller + djm 800 :)

  • can i use the cdj's to play tracks from traktor pro aswell?

  • jep:)

  • Personally, I don't even see the need for turntables anymore with Traktor Pro. As a dj of 12 years and who owns a massive vinyl collection, I love records. But with Traktor Pro, a good mixer, and a MIDI controller setup right (I'm using an Akai MPD24), I can do everything the setup above can do, do it faster, not have to worry about beatmatching, and rarely if ever need to touch my laptop. There is SO much Traktor Pro is capable of that you won't get to utilize if you focus on decks and beats.

  • Comment removed

  • I agree, with cdjs you can do anything. There is not necesary Traktor or softwares, the unique benefit is to can access to all your music in your computer, but in terms of control, its too much better decks alone

  • I Know, i also have a Controller (A&H Xone 1d) i use timecoded Vinyl when i play at clubs, i like the vinyl feeling, Its lots more fun!! i don't say its better or worst, it's just the feeling that's cooler, & I use traktor mostly to acces my music like Sergi says!:)

  • @DJKeebler808 thats good but your letting traktor sync of tracks for you instead of doin it manually while beatmatching is an essential part of djing. cdjs get the job done better than traktor can, however this guy in the video is not using midi controllers or enabling any of traktors special features. that doesnt mean u cnt have cdjs and also use a traktor x1 at the same time, it sllows for better effects/looping/cueing while still keeping it real by using cdjs

  • @DJKeebler808 if u think about it i can do the same exact set as this guy with just a mixer and virtual dj. vdj allows u to sync up tracks the same way traktor does but who do u respect more ferry corsten/tiesto/laidback luke/SHM who mix with just cdjs and a mixer or me who can do a great mix with just virtual dj and a mixer. obviously them. personally i think that the most creative setup(although its expensive as hell) would be 2 cdjs, traktor, a djm, 2 X1's, an efx box

  • @DjNikoChristopoulos....I agree with you. With EDM, just being able to mix is only part of the equation. Programming your tracks in a set and timing of your mixes is equally if not more important than beatmatching. You also have to be able to read the crowd and know when to play certain tracks. My point was that technology is so good now you don't really need turntables. It's all about economics. If I could afford the setup you listed, I'd have it. But I can't so my X-1 and Traktor do the job.

  • @DJKeebler808 haha thats good

  • great video mate ive got mk3s and the djm 800 as well. Could you please help me with a couple of questions though I wanna switch to TSP but unsure about some features because of conflicting info ive heard.

    1. Do you play tracks straight of the laptop or is it recommended to connect a protable harddrive with the tunes on there?

    2. Am I able to use midi controllers such as the A&H Xone1:D with TSp AND the djm 800 - are there compatibiltity issues?

  • I Play my music off a portable hard drive, because i have too much music... but it's also recommended to use an external ( less stress on local hard drive)

Haha, I Just bought my Allen & Heath 1D and everthing works fine, havent tried everthing, but it feels OK,

    hope i could help...

  • thanks mate much appreciated

  • do you know of anyone having trouble loading the device driver software for the audio dj 8 for vista it can't seem to find what it needs ?

  • sorry, only have Apple

  • There should be an updated driver on the Native Instruments website. I am running Vista x64 and have no issues whatsoever.

  • oh sick yeah we can beatmatch ha ha ha we both have got pro so we both have got the audio 8. how would we set it up through the club mixer just use the other two chanels ?

  • yeah, you use 1 & 2, and he uses 3 & 4 and if you want, you can send your midi clock to his traktor - just take a din cable and connect the out of your audio 8 to the in of his! it's easy:)

  • becasue i dj in a duo and a the guy i play with is also buying traktor just wondering if we could both bring our set ups and run it through the one mixer ?

  • Yeah you could, but you have to connect them by midi, to sync it all up, so you both need the Audio 8 interface, the Audio 4 won't do.. but it wouldn't be a problem if you beatmatch!

  • can you set up 2 different traktors to the same mixer ?

  • yes, i think you can! but don't know why??

  • Hi Lennybe,

I have the same setup, but I¨m using Traktor Scratch Duo instead, the problem is how to connect the input to the mixer, 800 has 3 phono inputs, my external soundcard is pro 4 dj, two in, two out, do you know how to connect it to the 800 mixer?:)

  • Mixer Line in of deck A goes to Ch1 line

Mixer line in of Deck B goes to ch 4 line

Mixer TT-CD of Deck A goes to ch 2 line

Mixer TT-CD of deck B goes to ch 3 line

don't use the phono! - i don't (they are only for Turntables..)

Cd players go into the input of TT-CD on the multicore cables!

  • thanx, what's the name of the first song in the mix? I know I've heard it before but dont remeber, nice tracks by the way:)

  • tracklist at the end.. it's sunglasses at night(Tocadisco remix!)

  • I dont mean to bother you with another stupid question haha,

but why did you buy traktor if your not using any midi?

Wouldn't it have been better if you bought serato?

  • no problem dude,

    euhm,

because i love the Traktor interface, & the vinyl's are beter quallity,

I do use the midi sometimes, not always, (djm 800 has supported MIDI out) so, i can use it with Ableton Live...

  • what audio interface are you using??

... am using serato but am thinking to switch any idea if i have to do this ??

  • I'm using the Audio 8 Interface, but i think it's possible to use the serato interface, as long as you have 2 in's and 2 out's, but i'm nog 100% sure! you should go to a store and ask them there, or send an e-mail to Traktor, I think they will be happy to help you;)

  • Ok setup, Channel 1 - CDJ-1000 Channel 2 - CDJ-1000 Channel 3 - Traktor Deck A Channel 4 - Traktor Deck B

For example, Im playing a normal CD track in the CDJ and the midi clock BPM signal is going through the mixer then out to the Midi Unit then to the laptop. Can Traktor's midi clock sync with the CDJ's BPM midi signal via the midi unit through from the mixer and sync to play a track via Traktor Deck A or B.

Is this possible with Traktor Pro or Traktor 3.3?

  • I Think it's possible, but i'm not sure about it, i've tried but never succesfully, I don't know how to send a midi-clock into traktor, I'll try to check it out, i'll tell you if it works:)

  • Cheers, Lenny

  • Lenny, I bought a Redsound Soundbite Micro, it allows you to Sync Audio/MIDI to Ableton or Traktor. It sorts out all the sync issues between CDJ/Vinyl to the Laptop DJ software.

  • looks awesome! - does it work? but if you'r mixing with traktor i don't see why you need it?

  • Hi lenny, nice video. I've got the same set-up DJM-800, CDJ-1000 Mk3's and an EFX-1000,Powerbook G4 (PPC), FaderFox DJ2 & LC2.

I have Traktor 3.3 on my mac as I have't got the Intel Mac system just yet.

Wanted to ask you a question, instead of using Time Code is there a way of Traktor syncing from an external source (CDJ-1000). I haven't looked into it in depth.

  • mooie setup!

om op jaloers te zijn ^^

Alleen de flanger van de DJM800 is wel soms irritant :p

    greetz, Kazzual

  • and does it work without the cdj, i mean only with the mixer and mac?

  • yeah it does, it sync's for itself if you want it to:)

  • okey thanks!

  • and do you use the sync or do you beatmatch yourself?

  • can traktor scratch pro work with any cd players like dual players or any other single players

  • Yes they can:)

  • thanx alot also can i use a midi controller with traktor scratch pro for small parties like wedding and private parties

  • yeah, ofcourse, it's like the normal traktor with timecode support!

  • thanx alot lennybe great help nice mix

  • does anybody know if traktor works the same with cdj 1000 mk2??

  • or denon dn-s 3000

  • yeah, of course they work the same, there's only a small difference between the 2:)

  • great work of the fx, good song choice. good flow. Keep it up m8.

  • do you beatmatch it urself ? or does it sync auto ?

  • I Beatmatch myself, but you can let it sync, but what's dj'ing then?

  • can do us a video on the master pitch ? and manual beatmatching..cuz i heard doing it manually can make it sound a bit choppy..cuz im intending to switch to traktor FULLY..its jus that 1 problem thats stuck up my head. :(

  • nah, it's fine if you know how to do it, i've switch completly to TSP and it's working perfectly, you should try it somewhere befor you transfer:)

  • Wicked setup.

I was wondering: Traktor Pro says that its vinyl is the tightest (2 KHz). Does that mean better vinyl control? Do you know specifically how it helps?

    Thanks!

  • i have no idea, it works perfectly, that's all i know!

  • Serato uses a 1KHz time code=1/2 of what TSP uses. Means that you have a tighter feel or less latency which allows closer emulation of vinal response for scratching. Big picture, smoother control of your mix. Truly it is nothing that you would ever really notice unless you can be as acurate as 1/1000 of second.

  • Thanks Mannn. Respect

  • I used to own cdj800s so i'm familiar with the operation of cd players, I was asking because I heard that tsp had issues with the cue feature on cd players, delays when pressing play, does not return to cue point properly etc.

  • aaah,, i've never had any problem with the cue's on my cdj'1000 mk3's with traktor on my Macbook pro, never had delays, and never it always returned to the same spot, i really can't conplain!

  • How is the cue different? Thats the part that worries me.

  • haha, cd's are different then vinyl, cue on Timecode goes the same way as normal cd's - there isn't any delay, it works perfectly!

  • Thats good to hear, i'm currently using tsp with timecode vinyl and love tsp but want to move away from vinyl. Thanks for the help.

  • you should really try cd's, the only difference is the Cue

    and easier to beatmatch.

  • Nice mix! I'm assuming your using the timecode cd's? How is the cueing with traktor? I've been hearing it's a pain and doesn't emulate real cds very well.

  • yeah, timecode cd's

nooo, it's really good accualy, i've very glas about it!:D

ATM i'm using the vinyls, also works perfectly!

  • what is the name of the first song mate?? thanks!

  • Tiga And Zyntherius - Sunglasses At Night

  • TRACK ID 2:55 ??? TNX

  • good tracks, kill the flanger..

  • Very nice tracks and good mixing skills !

    Respect d00d :)

  • Sup, man like your mixing, i have the same set up and im going to buy traktor, what mac do you have? is it the white one? and that's the traktor scratch pro right?

  • how much does it cost to start up everthing? and is a laptop with relevant software on it essential?

  • well, if you want a really good set (pioneer....) then it will cost you bout 1000 - 2000, ou don't need a pc with any software, i just use it because i feel better with it!:) hope i've answered your question!

  • rubbish. you have industry standard equipment and are not using it anywhere near its full potential. you need to use effects less and more appropriatley. chin up though keep trying
