you can tell gender by the size of their dewlap or if it is a male there is a bump on the beginning of their tail

How much of a risk is there of the baby ig runng for it , ours sits on a Weeping cherry tree over a small pond but gets board and goes on the rampage all of sudden ( Shes approx 2.5 ys old) do you have a fence all round the garden .Also when shes on the ground we,re frightend of her eating something is this a problem or do they know what not to eat

Okkkkkkk I jut got my iguana today she was nice and then we got home she got rely mean but noooo about 3 hours ago it climbed out of the cage with is 8x6x6 and the wires on it he can slip through he's onto and every time I try nd get her off she get like scared and trys to whip me what do I do...... She's sleeping on top of the cage right now lol

My ig is 11 months old now dnt know if that is why he/she is acting the way he/she is. I am a massive iguana fan but I'm losing faith in this 1 I really don't want to give it up but I can't have a aggressive iguana with my kids I have had iguanas b4 and all have been fine but I think I just may have got unlucky with this 1 :( J

@Maskery1 its possible he doesn't like you, we have seen it not all igs like everyone and if they dont they never will but he could also be sick and acting out trying to tell u somethings wrong, its hard to say without a trip to the vet, good luck!

@mrgarethboy1 Nope, i'm sorry to say Woody died in his sleep 2 nights ago i found him laying on his towel yesterday morning he looked like he went peacefully. He was buried next to the fish pond where all the igs like to hang out and next to many of my others were laid to rest over the years

@Anneka6 Yea he was an amazing iguana & i'm so glad i got to care for him the last few years of his life, the new little baby ig now lives with Gizmo in his old room he just hit 1 pound yesterday & its helped to have him now with Woody gone, but i almost thought i was going to lose gizmo afew days ago we have her on meds now & i think shes going to make it but shes been so sick the last week

Whats your opinion on not having a viv when an iggy gets 2 big? My ig is far from that yet only being 1yr 1/2 but he's in a 6ft x 4ft viv and i'm just trying to think ahead for when he outgrows that. Do I just ig proof the living room and let him roam in there but make sure his Megaray and everything's there for him to bask? x

@Anneka6 well personally i dont like cages of any kind but i'm also lucky that here for most of the yr we have high humidity so leaving their windows open they usually have enuff but in the winter they mainly have to stay in their rooms where i can keep it higher misting their plants & warm baths everyday, a very big viv could be ok if u can keep the mold/mildew away they have a window to look out of & time out of it each day so they dont get bored or unsocial

Nice to see Woody is out and about. Baby is getting big! I noticed one the Iggy's had its breeding colors, are they hard to handle during that time? I was curious because I know soon my little munchkins is going to be about 1 year old.

@Pringols101 Well now that Woody is gone the baby lives in the room with gizmo now and yesterday he weighted 1 pound now! but gizzy has been very sick i almost thought i might lose her too so i rushed her to the vet now shes on meds & i think shes going to make it. the baby was sick when i got him but he doesn't have any mating season stuff yet but hes almost 1 now & some are not that bad & some are very aggressive, watch my rescues & mating season problem videos to see more

Woody is the one who can't walk normally? The left front leg must have a problem..

@Baktiridion yea he has 5 tumors the one is eating away the leg bone in that front leg but hes a fighter so with help from donations and my vet we have him on pain managment so he can try and live as long as he wants without hurting too much, hes one of our rescued iguanas

Also, If your thinking of giving it a name, I suggest Hercules because of how strong that baby is getting!

Woodies still fightin' and Gizzy' along with Bint' seem doing great, and it looks like Binty's still growing! His tail is so long...

@KillerWhales1951 Thanks yea everyone is either growing or doing good, i put alot into that baby ig and hes looking great now so fat and active and smart, his training is going great, Binty and Gizzy will be helping me at our table this weekend at the huge strawberry fest where they were given away as prizes as babies, they should have fun!
