I've owned the legit pair and tried the fake pair. I find the fakes have a little echo from the plastic body where the sound isn't quite as well dampened from the shell and the earpieces are not quite so soft. For the price they are comparable to skullcandy stuff imo and acceptable for listening at home but I personally wouldn't like to use them in a club.

These are fake, as many have pointed out.

I have the authentic Japanese made Z700 which I got from a Sony rep friend there, and while I have enjoyed them for many years, I agree that the build quality is not as good as the North American version (made in the Philippines, I think). The ear cushions, for one, on the Japanese version are not as plush and are made of a stiffer material and are finally starting to crack after about 7 years of use.

real ones have green stripes, and a screw jack adaptor.

The actual Z700 is a little inferior to the v700, in both sound quality and build.

Heh I buy the same headphones, when i buy it i see that they dont have logo, i know it,s copy or somethink else... But i tested Z Fail phones with origenaly phones, i dont feel differense and buy with out logo, i spend 70$ with out logo. Origenaly with logo 230$ Heh i live in Riga-Latvia the suckest county in the world.

Ps. If we dont have differense, why ve must spend more ?

@reho16 the response is crap, they brake easily they wont last and the drivers will wear down and gradually get quiter and quiter ( if you use them for gigs and that) and there generally SHIT, the real ones have a screw on adaptor the sony sign on the top and green bands round the jack NOT black :D hope it helps

I purchased them when i was in Japan.

Obviously point was the missing Sony piece. They brand all their over the ear headphones on the top band.

My best advice is to test every pair for yourself before you buy. Personally, I think Pioneer would be the way to go, but you never know.

u kidding? the obvious choice is the HDJ 2000 not only are they better louder sound for clubbing, they come in a travel case rather than a crappy carryin pouch and has XLR cable connection.

imo, the Allen & Heath XD-53 headphones are the best of the ones you've listed. HOWEVER< they ARE all great headphones. :)

Although I don't know why you threw the HDJ2k's and the HDJ1k's in the same list, LOL, the HDJ2000's are obviously better. Much pricier though!

If you do a web search for these headphones you will notice there is the MDR-V700's and the MDR-Z700's, this is were you have to be very careful. The MDR-Z700's are not the same as MDR-V700's, they are built by Sony but are intended for the Assian market and do not have the same build quality and sound. They are usually imported from China and sellers will state that they are 100% genuine Sony and exactly the same as the MDR-V700's

just gonna put them in simple words. theyre "fake" sony doesnt make a model called mdr-z700. only mdr-v700.

i bought a pair of mdr-v700 from sam ash, and omg sound is bad ass. so my brother wanted to be a cool ass and get cheaper ones for 35 bucks. and i tested them out. horrible sound. very uncomfortable. very cheap built. so yea urs are fake. sorry my man. u get wat u pay for.

i believe there is no "fake" version.. they are all the same..

either its a china exclusive or there 2 different version of it or US have a "z700" but its call something else.. probably v700 is the English version of "z700"..

sound quality is better

the way its made(it may look the same but these only last about a year)

padding is not comfortable

Listen pal, don't come into my video acting all slick. I find sound quality about that same. AND I was looking for a more affordable version of the v700's. I found what I was looking for. Both v and z are very brittle. If your opinion is otherwise, make your own video. Don't leave garbage on mine.

I don't consider them fake. American made products are usually a bit more pricey. The lettering is in Chinese, as I stated in the video, but I found quality about the same. If you're on a tight budget, you won't lose much in purchasing the Z-700's.

man, is nothing about what you consider, is a well known counterfiet, and it doesnt matter if is not in america the chinese/thailand/japan/ made real ones are the ones u can buy in any sony shop but for 150 $ ,this first counterfiet has NO CE MARK, has no SONY logo, DIDNT COME with the shine white bag, THE plug has not the same shape and no sony logo, and the adaptor is a not screw system, and it has no the typical green lines in the connector

im not gonna purchase the original mdr v700 because i heard them with the ones the dj of our bar have and they sound shit (too much artificial bass and the swivel joints broken by itself), if the logo of a genuine product was missing i would prefer it, but if the logo is missing cause is an old counterfiet...

i dont try tu hurt your feelings man sry if u thought that , i like truth, but some times truth is hard like, 9/11, but we must know the truth 4 not repeating error
