F***ing hell that was shifting the rails along the way look like it was doing a 100mph. Good to see the old 'Thumper' train coming through Gerrards Green '1001' but good for you to film this as well nice one.

Well, I can tell you it was nearly always dark!

We used to walk our dog along the tracks at haddenenham, trains were so few and far between in the 70s. You couldnt do that now. We used to hear class 50s and 37s thunder through in the early hours with freight, but never knew where they were from or going, During the day it was just DMUs to Marylebone and the usual.

Great bit of high speed footage. The run from Banbury to Greenford was a clear sprint with some of the most sustained high speed stretches of the trip. Nightime just adds atmosphere to this clip.
