  • as soon as I saw the words 'my name was Keiko' I burst into tears :'( R.I.P Keiko, I still love you, his story was inspring, still is inspiring

  • 12 december in Norway ! R.I.P KEIKO <3

  • <3

  • I use to love seaworld but then I thought of how I would felt:(

  • I remember reading about when Keiko died and I was sad but watching this video has made me cry.I'm so glad I don't support Sea World.Im totally against whales been taken from their natural habitat.

  • this is exactly how i feel. i remember watching all the free willy movies and goin to actual see him in person, i had gone several times. even though i was young, when i heard they were releasing him i said that they were crazy he had been in captivity for to long and orca don't accept outsiders very well or often. If he had not of been freed he would have lived sadly its a lose, lose situation. Your life for your freedom or your freedom for your life...

  • Thank you for reminding the world that animals dont belong in captivity... when i was lucky to have met him at reyno aventura, when you meet an animal of that capacity you cant help but to grow a bond... it is important that people realize that their home and their family is in the ocean... thank you for this video

  • i miss him soo much im crying right now i love him and i miss him :( y did he have to go and die i miss u keiko i wish i could have saw u :'( i never got to i have loved u ever since i was 4 and im 10 for 6 years i have known about u i would say to my mother every night

    me: mom?

    mom: yes?

me: can we go to sea world and see keiko -smiles-

mom: yes one day sweet heart

me: ok thank you mommy night night

    mom: night -smiles-

  • @melody181716 i got to meet keiko when i was about your age, it was a moment i will never forget. I grew to love the ocean even more, and i am now close to completing my degree in marine biology. But there is sometihng you should learn now, whales are so much like humas. They have close families, and should remain with them... in the ocean. They don't beling in captivity, and the best way to keep them free is by not visiting places like sea world.

  • sad story, i´m crying

  • aaaah whale meat is so good. Too bad he was not chopped up to be eaten.

  • @sigurbjornjonsson thats mean keiko was famous

  • @341Batman no, from what I read when he died he was very old and the meat was beyond usage. But also trust me in the fact that us Icelanders find whales beautiful, but it is also perfectly normal to use natural resources which some whale species are. Not all, but some.

  • WTF!

im a hardend black metal musician and this has got me crying....

    WTF

  • i just finished watching free willy then i looked up keiko and cried because i really miss him u know i dont think us people should have zoos if u wanna see these animals go 2 where they live iust plz dont use an animal 4 money no more zoos or anything like that

  • i miss him the first time i ever watched free willy i fell in love with keiko and orcas keiko is in my heart and will always be there i have him panted on my walls and this girl named pat did it i alway look at him everynight before i go to bed and when i wake up i see him right there on my walls and sometimes i remember him i dream about him sometimes he will always live on in our hearts

  • He was such a sweet and gentle giant... He actually died of a disease that he had for a while though. It simply got worse over time. :( I still had tears in my eyes watching this video though.

  • The movie Free willy taught me that not all orcas are mean

  • Comment removed

  • @maikelEHV040 SHUT UP SHE OR HE CAN DO WHAT EVER THE FUCK HE OR SHE WANTS

  • R.I.P. Keiko

  • i love you kieko and i cried watching this your my faviorte i love you the most

  • I loved Keiko, and no offense I feel like you lowered his greatness by giving him human emotions. Did you know that they made the Free Willy movies for the sole purpose to free Keiko in the first place? I doubt that you did. And he did find his family. Just so you know. He also died of a disease that he had for a long time.

  • Omg! I cried right when I saw this video I did not want him to go and I loved free willy and I loved keiko!! But now he is in an better place now!! R.I.P Kekio!! (: <33

  • @purplefeathers101 free willy is keiko

  • keiko was the sweatst animal in the world

  • keiko was the sweatst animal in the worl

  • I think it was so wrong to take them from their families, it's horrid :( But this proves the point we cant release them :( R.I.P Keiko <3

  • <3

  • i will mis you forever and forever

  • i have been watching this video a ton of times and i cried a lot and when i watch free willy i i rembered i love keiko

  • I don't believe in captivity but Keiko was special case. In fact, when he was released, he swam around looking for people and doing tricks, letting kids ride him; feed him. He was too old to be released. And it will be very rare to have an orca /that/ friendly ever again. RIP

  • Oh my gosh how the he'll could you fishermans do this. If I were keiko I woulda kicked all y'all butts

  • i will miss you

  • Nice video girl

  • R.I.P keiko u will be forever in our hearts. And sadly missed by everyone. Xx

  • Man This Makes Me Angry Abit Cuz They Should Be Free And The Way Ths Video Is Talking Makes me Proper Sad And Sorry :( x

  • Keiko was a great movie star of Free Willy.

  • I understand rescuing orcas and breeding them in captivity, but taking baby orcas from the wild away from their pod thats just wrong.

  • @Cjslair84 I agree. But the reason they do that is because they are easier to train when young. Sea World has a breeding program so that they can minimize such things

  • this is so sad poor keiko i never relized that this poor whale went threw so much in his life people are really fucked up they should of know he would never be a wild orca he was to used to people

  • D: Poor Kieko. I read a book about his life, though I didn't realize he died on my 8th birthday.

  • I loved him! And i cried watching this! I grew up with keiko in a way, i was always watching free willy. But i think he made many good friends while being in captivity! These were the cast of free willy (the one who played jesse especially) and his fans. But he did in the end find his family. He spent 2 good and happy years with them and his son and daughter. I love kieko!! Thank you for making this video for him though, bevause this might make people see you shouldnt take wild animals from the

  • @12334Luver4321 I agree that animals should be in the wild where they belong. But how do you convince people to give money in order to protect not just the ocean but all creatures? People wana see these animals. and most people never will see an orca in the wild.

  • @12334Luver4321 me to i miss him

  • oh! man I don´t cry. but when I saw this video I remembered when I watched free willy and I cried a lot.

  • Comment removed

  • This really touched my heart. It is making change my mind on how i feel now aboout Seawolrd.

  • i think its cruel for humans to take animals and make them entertain us.

  • He's been dead for seven years now!

  • @Dinoman217 8 now!!

  • @CheyenneGarris It will be on December 12th!

  • I cry whenever i think how easily this could have been avoided, and even though they thought that freeing him was the best thing to do, it really wasnt he had already forgotten how to hunt for himself and probably lost his sense of echolocation. And though people from free willy say he died of old age it is untrue. He could have had th possibility to live up to 90 like normal orca. They thought they were doing good but they killed keiko. (Sorry i needed to just let this out. I love the vid

  • @dodgersgirl101 Male orcas do NOT live to 90. It's rare that female orcas live to that age. The average age of death for male killer whales is 30, with a max of fifty. Keiko got to spend 3 years in the ocean, socializing with other orcas. And there is no such thing as a cetacean "losing their sense of echolocation." He was perfectly able to hunt for himself - but yes, he was very attached to people. I think those years, reunited with the ocean, was worth it. I DON'T think all should be released.

  • Comment removed

  • @Jenckles Ok sorry my bad males can live to be 60 and females can live to be way older. But whales can forget to hunt And certain noises makes them lose their echolocation

  • I cried.... TT . TT I agree with boxofrayn we need more sea shepards. God bless them! Humans are cruel.

  • I did research on Orcas in high school, some of you are absolutely right. But when Orcas have been in captivity for so long, they forget how to hunt, and how to look after themselves. The dorsal fin is flipped over because of how many times he tried to get out of the tank. They should not be taken away from their home because most Orcas like to stay with their families all their lives

  • People say that I could be the next James Cameron! When I graduate from UCLA, I'll do a documentary on him!

  • People say that Killer Whales are against humans, and that is totally false! Keiko the Killer Whale ( the star of FREE WILLY) was living proof of what you just read!

  • Going to see Keiko was one of the best childhood memories I have. He was so big beautiful and looking into his eyes it felt like you could look into his soul. I was devastated when I heard the news that he had passed away. But I will always remember going and seeing him as a child and keep the pictures of him dear and close to my heart.

  • I just cried an ocean...........how sad.........we need more sea shepherd boats

  • Keiko was an angel and angels belong to heaven :'-(

  • @Nika10590 i agree with you... but he shall always rmain in our hearts.

  • They didn't took him so brutally, and you're forgettting the part that he can't live in the wild anymore and keeps coming back to the humans, and Orca's are just like dolphins: They're smart and like to learn things. Neither that it's sad to teach your dog tricks. This is an Orca an even more intelligent animal.

You're also forgetting the idea, if people see such a beatiful beast in a movie and next there is a commercial to collect money for the orca's then people are more sensitive for that!!

  • omg I just cried buckets.......

  • I miss him so very much I tried not to cry while I was watching it

  • not bad very good and sad i have all of the free willy series and the one were he's moving into a bigger tank!!!!!!!!

  • no estubiera muerto keiko si no lo huvieran sacado de mxico.....pinche gabachos...se lo llevaron para aca.....estubiera vivo la ballena aya en mexico....

  • It made me cry!! It was very good, and I think that Keiko and all whales feel that way. Imagine if you were taken away from your home... from your family... You would be sad too!! I think putting whales in captivity is the most disgusting thing in the world!! Oh and DolphinTrainer101, how can you say that whales like to be in captivity?? Didn't you hear, a killer whale killed it's trainer! They all hate it!! STAND UP AGAINST WHALES IN CAPTIVITY!!!!

  • one question, what's about his flipper? looks like they have been wounded.

  • @blitziee because Keiko was in captivity for so long his dorsal fin curved like that so far there is not an explanation but it has happened to other Orcas but only ones in captivity like Tillikum.

  • @historyfreak10 Actually there is an explanation. When orcas are held in captivity, they swim constantly against the side of the tank and the dorsal fin becomes curved from hitting it over and over. They also are often held in water that is far too warm and through a virus contract what are basically large plantar warts around the base of the pectoral fins. We can only imagine how uncomfortable and stressed they are - all so that people can be entertained. It's all just totally sickening.

  • @historyfreak10 I think he suffered a condition called "Dorsal Fin Collapse"

  • @blitziee Oh the curved dorsal fin? That happens to a lot of these whales in captivity due to a condition called "Dorsal Fin Collapse"

  • this whale made me fall in love with ocean life. i watched free willy every day when i was little and when keiko died i was very upset. but after recently going to sea world and watching the huge whales in their tiny tanks swim in circles all alone broke my heart. im now completely against whales being in captivity.

  • Made me cry< but you cant say that all whales dont enjoy human interaction...

  • Thank you for this video and your very moving comments.

    Love,

    Anne

  • he got the chance to be happy. It pulls at my heart every time I watch his first movie. it made me love animals so much that I couldnt imagine someone hurting him. It still hurts to know how he lived. But those last few years give me some peace. He finally able to leave if he wished. I hope they give Tilly the same chance before its too late. Tillys my new favorite whale...because hes just like Keiko. He still doesnt have his freedom. =/ RIP Keiko I hope I see you in heaven someday.

  • Ok I have to get my 2 cents worth in. I know what they did to Keiko was unfair but he set a prime example of the cruel things sea world actually does. Believe it or not Keiko seemed to really enjoy being happy out in the wild. for the last 5 or so years of his life (granted it doesnt ammount to a life time of basic slavery) he got to swim with the other orcas and maybe father a few little orcas. HE was completely without any pens or restraints in the last few years of life. He died a happy whale

  • May Keiko the killer whale live on in our hearts forever! Goodbye Keiko!

  • cool vid

  • not all these picture are of Keiko...

  • RIP Keiko you are greatly missed in this world

  • R.I.P Keiko hope you have fun where youre going ;)

  • this is one of the best videos.i hope u keep on doing what ur doing. reminding people that these are wild animals that should not be captured and put in tanks for our entertainment!!! they should be with their family's. I will never 4get this. I hope they are able to do this for Lolita in Miami Florida aquarium, set her free to.She has been in her tank for almost 41 years, all alone. the worst part is they are born in the tanks now, and they'll never see the place where they should be in the ocean

  • What a liberal tree hugger unbiased story!!!! First off he was unhealthy when they found him and they took him back to the research center, put him in the tank to make sure he is ok, then they started doing shows with him. When he was freed again he went BACK WITH HIS FAMILY and he had a baby orca. If you're gunna tell a story get the fuckin facts straight!!! It's like fuckin Nemo your trying to tell here!!!

  • KEIKO the proud of Mexico... we will love KEIKO forever

  • Orcas tend to forget about their mothers when they reach maturity.

In fact, Keiko loved humans, and if you ask me, Keiko was very sad when his trainers left him.

  • @Monsterdavid22x Actually depending on the orca "society" they live in, male orcas may stay with their mothers their whole life. They have even been known to go missing/die when their mothers die.

He did seem to love humans though, well at least he seemed to love the attention.

    RIP Keiko, you were special.

  • een mooi nummer bij zo´n fantastich filmpje over de de bekendste van zijn soort

  • @princeofpersia110219 dont leave a comment if youre not gunna leave it in english!!!!!

  • Rest in peace Keiko we'll always love you

    very sad.......

  • sniff il never forget that whale

  • aww how cuutttee!

  • this make me cry, i met keiko in mexico, and i fed him

  • that was very depresing :(

but i reely love free willy butt poor keiko

  • This is really what happened? When he died then it said he was with his mom, his mom had died too?

  • The Ambassador orca!

  • would you want that to happen to you would you wanna be taken away from your family at 2 and just be some piece of dirt for ppls entertainment. no i didnt think so so ppl need to think in the kindness of there hearts to just leave them alone

  • Keiko you will always be in our heat no matter were we are!!! I love you....

My Orca Holly Misses You too And her Baby Sophia!! xxx R.I.P Keiko :(

  • i wish he and his hole family a good live in the heaven

  • I love this whale R.I.P Keiko you will be always in my heart

  • orcas should not be in captivity learning stupid and useless tricks they should be in the wild with theirs pods and swim as much as they want but they cant do that in tanks and no tank is big enough for a whale just compare a tank to all the water in the world where they can swim in it poor keiko he only had to happy years of life the rest where probably miserable years in tanks

  • ... I just said how much this orca ment to the world, and my sister said they're stupid....

Gosh I'm really sad now, this video is soo moving!

  • the saddest tribute sniff sniff

  • lol, who cares xD

  • @Mrbattyy, you just an idiot for not caring anyway after the first film, no one had heard anything about keiko and was found in a small dirty tank in mexico that wasnt used and they started a petition to release him into the wild but on doing so, he got pneumonia and they also had to teach him how to fish as he didnt know how

  • I cried This is So sad I love you Keiko!!!!

  • where did u get the video for this

  • cool deal

  • lots of respect keiko R.I.P

  • R.I.P. Keiko

  • The video was really good. But just so you know. The didnt move Keiko to the ocean direclty. The moved him to a speciall tank looking thing. That was going to help Keiko get into the real stuff that a kille whale does. Like hunting for fish and things like that. But the video was really good. Credits for u!

  • its a nice vid i love killer whales

  • I'm crying now...

    I'm don't beilive...

    Keiko was dead...

    Very hard beilive...

  • Comment removed

  • i cried. this video is so true we keep animals in small tanks for our entertainment and then when they get old we release them and theyre so used to our lives and getting fed without any effort they eventualy die. i got a real soft spot for orcas. everytime i go to seaworld (mostly on my birthday) i get as close as i can to the orcas and seclude myself from my family. ill always love kieko and all other killer whales

  • free keiko..

  • Keiko is the king of the sea.... He was very loved in Mexico! My mom use to tell me stories about him all the time.

  • wow i love orcas but this video is gay u shoulve just done clips and music not some gay 1st person story

  • i love orca's, they were my fav animal since i was twelve.Especially Keiko!

  • thumbs up if you think people should just LEAVE ANIMALS TO DO THEIR ANIMAL THING!!!!!! not put them in tanks away from their family for profit

  • I loved this. I'm a 21 year old guy and I really liked Orcas since I saw Free Willy. When I heard Keiko died I was really sad. This video brought back a lot of good memories and allowed me to see things from his perspective. Capturing whales is so wrong but I still wish I could speak to them or swim with them in the wild. Crazy, I know, but I always thought of them as being really deep, intelligent sea animals. I guess I'll never know.

  • Beautiful <3 xz

  • This brought tears to my eyes. I met him at the Oregon aquarium. I miss him so much.

  • How can anyone dislike this video.... wtf.

    Very touching video... :')

  • i myself am a orca lover and yes the video is well made and a tearjerker . music and the words were great whoever made this video did an amazing job and did it from the heart . and i am also a guy . and til this day i still love orcas

  • poor guy :(

thanks for the video, it made me tear :'(

  • was keiko ever violent or lash out at any1 like other orcas have done in the past! like tilikum or shamu? i was just wonderin!?

  • @kudy No, Keiko never harmed any of his trainers in anyway. From what I've read, he was a very calm, intelligent Orca. Even when he was sick he welcomed the different trainers and marine biologists attention.

  • :'( (L)

  • THANKS FOR THE STORY

  • i loved it but there was one false thing in this great video he was released in norway not iceland i live in norway and was lucky enough to meet this great guy before he died..r.i.p good old friend i miss you a lot

  • @BadTim28 he was released in iceland but swam to norway... I come from Halsa the commune he ended up in...

  • my sister loves this whale ALOOOOT well she did and now he is only in her heart r.i.p kieko u will alwya and forever be missed:,{

  • this was an awsome vid. thank you for putting it up. brought tears to my eyes as well.

  • Wow man.....i used to be a big fan of keiko before he died.......after the death i was strucked because he was someone who i looked up to big time.....7 years later i still havent forgot about you keiko.....someday we all will be free with you.....but the only thing we can do now is mourn over your memories........love you shawty!!!

  • to this day i remember being a kid and going to the oregon aquarium to see him he touched me in ways no one could ever imagine he was so magnificent keiko i love you

  • keiko wasnt just any orca. he was special. he touched the hearts of people everywhere. he is surely missed.

  • Mammals that are born in captive can never continue to exist in open oceans. They usually die and thats how Keiko the captive whale died. I am not quite sure if Keiko and free Willy are the one and the same whale.

  • People make me sick!!!!... Why are we doing things like this to innocent animals, what did they ever do to us!? Why destroy there life? Why hurt theme? Why use theme for enjoyment? What is the purpose of it? There is no reason that anyone could give me that would change my mind about people being stupid and heartless... at times I just wish I could take every person that does things of this nature and reverse it see how they would feel! See how good it is to be treated like an animal! Dont do it

  • I cry so much...

  • I have mixed feelings about the whole captive/free thing. I feel bad for the whales. However, some of those whales where born in captivity meaning they don't no the difference between a tank and the ocean. Oh and toddandjillian, I understand what you are saying when you say it's not natural. But, a domestic dog isn't natural either. Domestic dogs are just wolves that have been taught by HUMANS.

  • at 3:54, is that the trainer that died? and also, if theyre going to keep orcas in captivity, i agree there is no point in returning, them, its all they know is how to entertain, it's like taking my two year old and placing him in prison until he's 25, you think he's going to want to be outside with me and everyone else? i think not

  • since when do killer whales know how to speak english

  • humans need to let nature live. That poor whale knew nothing from its own mother but everything from a human. Theres something wrong with that. It's not a domesticated dog for heavens sake. If a animal needs to be saved im all 4 it but to take it away from its own family for personal use is WRONG!!!

  • This is amazing!! RIP Keiko, I hope you're having a good time up there.

  • This was a excellent video of Keikos life when i was little I used to watch Free Willy, Free Willy 2, and Free Willy 3. I owned 2 out of the three movies. When I found out that Keiko had died I couldnt believe it, I wanted to check to see if they made a mistake but they didnt I was so mad. When I first watched the first Free Willy I became in love with orcas and whales, Keiko was my favorite animal out there. Again excellent video

  • i loved that whale, i cried when he died :(

there are other whales out there like him too

  • I'LL admit it i cried and im a guy.everyone would cry for the people, animals they love that passed..but now keiko is in a better place now where he will be remembered as keiko the killerwhale but we have to let it go..we will always remember you keiko =(( ;(:(

  • very good, but well sad :'( i loved him :'(

  • I to have strong feelings for theese animalls. Orcas are the most beautiful animall on planet Earth. But Keiko was ot captured like you describe it. he got caught in a fishingnet and got ingured. in fact he was saved by taken to a tank... I think it's wrong to keep any whales at all in captivity. they just don't belong there. they have the whole sea as a home so it's very un natural for them to be in a tank.

  • lindissimo :D

    palavras para que?

  • lindissimo :D

    palavras para que?

  • I cried my heart out :(

  • I'll miss you Willy, even though your real name is Keiko. You will always be remembered in my heart. I truly hope your in a better place

  • I LOVE KEIKO !!!!!!!

    1. this isn't true what you did !!!!!!!

    2. he was 26 when he died

    3. don't make a video of something you don't know about !!

    4. if the pepole haven't took him we would never got a chance to meet keiko and that would just brake my heart if i never got to knew him !!

  • he was born in 1976 and this is so snot true what you did !! you need to now about keiko before you do this !!! so stop putting bullshit on youtube !!

    I LOVE KEIKO !

  • @gudnythora97,

Most of the information is accurate. Instead of being so rude, try politely offering correct information instead and maybe you will be acknowledged and respected.

  • This story isn't true and just crap!!!!! plus that he was born in 1976 !!!!

i am happy that the humans took him couse that would break my heart if never knew him !

Life is crule and it is true but pepole got to be strong

killer whales name should be keiko - whales

  • I Love Keiko so much and i call killer whales always Keiko-whales ! :D he loved the pepole but this is very sad video and it isn't all true but be happy they took him it would be even sadder if we never knew him !! REMEMBER HE BELONGS TO ICELAND !!!! ICELAND IS HIS HOME !!!!

  • HUMANS ARE CRUEL ! :@

  • wow...this welll this video is very sad.made me cry and the way u worded it just wow its just so sad knowing tht WE did this...

  • I loved this vid i was crying by the time it ended i love u Keiko u r the best and ur my fav Orca out of them all. I think they shouldent have released him after he already grown up that was just stupped.. Keiko may he R.I.P

  • iceland yeah!!!!!
