I live in vancouver and work about 10 minutes from the location of this video even with all the poverty these people are usually friendly and are no real danger to people who just walk by. Most are mentally or have addiction problems.... very sad

A lot of these "scum" are mental health patients who were thrown on to the street when hospitals were shut down due to funding cuts, children stolen from their families and put into foster care only to be turned loose at 16 with no life skills and no education, aboriginal peoples who's land and livelyhood were stolen and never returned.

The industry with the highest amount of drug use is the medical profession, but you don't spew your hate and venom at the doctor who is an opiate addict, do you? The untruth is that. . . "drugs cause this".Drugs are the escape so, be real. Prior to the drugs, there were many, many issues that lead people to the darkness, whom then need the constant fix to escape. Up-bringing and evil people among us are the major cause i believe. Amazing that, a person needs a licence for everything but, to bring new children into a have/have-not monetary world, when not qualified. I hope to see a past Lawyer,politican down there, only then will i know of true karma.

If detoxing from gear was made easy by large doses of benzos or in a controlled anaesthetic environment with expensive meds, then surely we (the addicts) would more than likely be in a continuous cycle of being sick and being sober. It's the difficulty in the detox that should teach us not to go near gear or other opiates/opiods ever again.

Imollot is talking about mineral replacement detox. Current studies suggest that addicts do not process essential minerals the same way that non addicts do. Having enough calcium/magnesium in your system may prove the difference, eventually, between someone taking a percocet for a broken arm and never taking another opiate again and another person doing the same and becoming hopelessly addicted. These studies are still in their infancy but the results look promising.

the trick isn't forcing people to not have kids, it's providing the infrastructure so that every kid has a good chance at succeeding in life. education, shelter, food, health care, modern amenities, these are things that we ought to guarantee every child. we can easily afford this if we prioritize our spending better.
