  • Man. I thought it was reall MMA. Turns out. It was just TKD and Judo. No offense but i don't really believe in TKD as a base foundation. Too focused on kicks. Believe me. I've never seen a (TKD only) match where there was a punch knockout. and if there ever was, it was an amatuer fight. Karate seems like a better base. Way to Go Lyoto Machida.

  • I think these guys need to loosen up abit, sure they both know things bout fighting but they dont know when to use there knowledge and thats a big flaw

  • you can not wait your enemy!! you must close every distance quickly, before he attack, and than never let him go! see what emin botzepe do!

  • ....and I don't see the part where they're doing judo? Oo

  • Imagine the MMA guy is Royce Gracie or Randy Couture instead of a guy showing off that he can do high kicks.

    "What was that? An exhibition?"

  • Good wing chun. I've seen guys in Hong Kong who don't apply it this well.

  • rubbish video , good sparring

  • The mma guy is shit

  • Its the fighter not the style

  • @MrHighbyMyself

    Wrong.

  • Congrats! You learned very well the WC strategy

  • aderfe pes tou paidiou oti mesa se klouvi i sto dromo den kaneis akrovatika

  • aderfe pes tou paaidiou oti mesa se klouvi i sto dromo den kaneis akrovatika

  • lol this is no MMA if yes he will break hes neck on the floor..

  • Why people think that they know what is taekwondo? ¬¬ stupids

  • .. nice wing Chun, but the guy in white trousers are not powerfull and agile enough to be a adequate fighter.. my opinion.

  • this art is why bruce lee beat up street fighters before he invented jkd

  • I see Wing Chun vs TKD. Sorry, but I don't see your friend as a real mixed martial artist, at least not in that fight, considering he only showed moves from one art.

  • people forget that all martial arts do have thier strong points. tkd has helped me in 3 on 1 in the streets the distance on a kicks mixed with my muay thai does work. the leg is 4times as strong as the arms. what works is knowing how your body works and your flow . THAT DECIDES WHAT STYLE WORKS 4 YOU THERE IS NO BEST ART. BUT WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.

  • @sgtfrozenchi you're right in 80%. Hard training is the most important but style(that is WEAPON) is important too.

  • nice video, but irritating music

  • ela mwre elada FTW!

  • ah this is actually quite good!

wing chun in practical :) very nice!

  • That 33 dislikers are all crazy proofers about MMA might on youtube. Great!

  • i was a wrestler in middle school and my Freind back in school did kung fu(he told me about this style) since he was a kid,he could beat my ass when we were playing.

chinese arts beat inferior western fighting.

  • Ip Man would own both of these guys without even touching them.

  • what you non "WT/WC" fail to appreciate is that our fighting IS in fact poor in MMA. BUT that is because 70-80% of our arsenal is taken from us, groin kicks, throat strick, elbows to noses, palm stirkes to noses, eye gauging the list continues. So i am impressed with Shawn attempt to apply WC, but really its not truly expressing the art to its real optimum, as i say, this is a Sport and form of Entertainment, WT is for the street, where u can be 1v3 1v2, where being on the floor is least efectiv

  • very good i like it

  • 0:41 ass kick xD

  • this is the first positive wing tsun vs mma video that i've seen, it has really inspired me to progress with my training thanks!!!

  • @83dannyphantom Thank you my friend! Greetings to US from Greece.

  • @83dannyphantom Have confidence in wad you learn friend, some things that are good cannot be found on YouTube :) Cheers

  • @83dannyphantom i have a video of me using wing chun(an boxing) against an mma buddy of mines. check it out an comment.

  • 1st lol

2nd were is the judoka i only see a amatur taekwondo user

and 3rd wtf this wt guy is lame look at the foot work

and 4th wt rulzzz good video

  • 0:07 hahaha awesome fail on that tornado kick

  • I think the wing chun person could've avoid that hit to the head if he protected his center line with his left hand, but it was pretty good.

  • I think the wing chun person could've avoid that hit to the head if he protected his center line with his left hand.

  • nice kicks and counterattacks

  • in WC u never walk back... u always have to go through ur enemy

  • I dont see much MMA but still Wing Chun is a good system

  • this tkd guy SUCKS!!! why'd he throw a 360 round that close? that's a long distance kick!

  • wing chun seems like a good defensive style to me not very offensive.

  • wing chun punches are like fast girly bitch slaps..

and im saying this not cause of the video , ive seen it myself

  • You guys need to be careful with those push kicks to the knee. Wouldn't want to break your friend's ACL or MCL... Just a thought.

  • wc guy don't know how to move his feet so it the tkd guy adapts wc guy will loose

  • hey, finally a good win chun match with someone who doesnt completely suck and understands center :). great vid keep up the good work (and ill liked the kicks on that that support legs very nice!!)

  • cool finally sb. who actually knows how to use his wing chun !! :D

... i don´t really want to criticize him cause he is good but i think he could have been more offensive

  • @schulleee Thank you my friend for your comment. You are absolutely right. But back then i had only about 1 year of training and beeing offensive was not easy for me. :)

  • @WingTsunThessaloniki

you have a great grasp on the basics after only a year. you will go far

  • @WingTsunThessaloniki I can never go offensive in wing chun for somer eason i find it hard to actually want to punch someone, i would rather just defend..

  • @APandaOnPiano Wing Chuns concept of moving foward is rooted in agressive and offensive fighting.if wc is not used agressively and violently it doesn't work well.As the same for most street arts.you cant afford time to dance around and defend.

  • @tricirlin It depends on the user.

  • @APandaOnPiano DONT FORGET CHI SAO. Remember the locks and tie-ups of Chi Sao, and you will have no problem getting in and attacking if you want or need to.

  • @WingTsunThessaloniki

    Firstly. Nice video.

I am actually at a similar point in my training - Once you can seek the bridge with your footwork and really get into your opponent, thats when real Wing Chun happens. Most martial artists (MMA in particular) seem to bounce around like that - like western boxers. But remember your structure. This is an ideal opportunity to bridge the gap and have the element of surprise. I think of my favorite wing chun maxim - "Wing Chun never stops"

  • @schulleee - I have met several good instructors who demonstrated WC/WT against all sorts of attacks, full contact. But these are not people who like to show off, therefore one does not find them on YouTube.

I agree that most WC practitioners suck, because they train in a very soft way, but there are people who train really hard and who work the doors of night clubs, whom I've met, and I would never want to have a fight with those ones....

    Cheers

  • I agree good video. and someone was talking about how its the person who fails abosolutely correct and another WT guy said something about its all relative, but in reality, not everyone knows the concepts and theories such as stay with what comes, move forward as the hand retreats, thrust forward as the hand detatches, stick ot the enemy with stepping punches, and utilizing stance inserting step techniques. but if everyone knew and practiced all of these it would all be good!!!

  • wing tsun is a god style but i think every style has his weaken and his strengthen

and than you must look the fighters ...when i must fight vs a mma fighter(that traint 10 years) i will lose cause i just train 5

  • @TheNaygen You are perfectly right my friend! Win or loose, it's never the styles, but the fighters fault...! he looses, not his style!!

  • where is the judoka! one with good takedown knowledge would have your back scratching the floor all day lol...go test a wrestler with those leading low kicks! he'd snatch your leg and have slamming on the ground

taekwondo is good for show but in a realistic no holds barred fight it doesnt do well..

  • @hekoka My friend, at other moments in the fight,he did actually snatch my leg and moments later he locked me! lol...I didn't upload tis moments, because back then i did't know any ground technikes. At that time i had only about 1 year of training (he was experienced)

About the takedown you are right,it's a very powerfull weapon, but only against one opponent. In WT we have some ground technikes, but we try to avoid it.

And i think it's the fighter who wins or looses, not the martial art.

  • @WingTsunThessaloniki

Still more of a TKD vs WT. I would love to see you do judo in your fights. Judo is great man! The concept has more a scientific sense to it.

  • @hekoka so negetive. confidence is much 2 great my friend. i do wing chun wrestling and boxing, tho wrestling is superior 2 wing chun smart boys like me bring ther leg back and step backwards try slamming ang im sprawling deep and standing if i hit ur soloplex ull die b4 gettn da chance 2 do much of anything. dnt disrespect it cuz it has flaws all styles do

  • @hekoka wing chun has very direct takedown techniques, some quite similar to judo too by the way. a judoka better not come too close or he can just as well be the one ending up on the ground. against takedown specialist those mma guy's high kicks would be even more of a problem than the much faster straight kick of wing chun. i mean he pretty much takes himself down. judo is a sport and they don't train in strikes to defend on the floor because competitions always ends as soon one is floored too

  • nice kicks by wing chun man

  • estaban al nivel los dos peleadores al de wing chun le falto acortar el espacio para poder desarrollar la tecnica

  • its also good to learn from that style cuz alot of them teach different fundementals that can only benefit you

  • "mma" has almost become it's own art these days. This is more like wt vs tkd.. and it wasn't a street fight..

  • Nice Blocks from Wing Chun <333

Nice kicks from TKD, just a lil inaccurate.

    Overall, this vid is cool :D they both are great fighters :}

    Buncho Respects :)

  • I really love and respect some of the core principles behind Wing Tsun. Using your opponent's rhythm, weight and force against themselves. Your not stronger than your opponent, NOR is your opponent stronger than you. It's that balance that you use and control in order to overcome. MUCH RESPECT!!!

  • hm... bad taekwondo

  • First sweep is great. Right while mr. TKD is trying to spin.

  • It's always a good idea to spar and test theory, also better if with (not against!) another style! Good job

  • Thank you my friend. And of course, every martial artist has to know and aknowledge that, it's him who fights and not the martial art by itself! This means that loosing or winning reflects him and only him. Not the martial art.

  • Looks more like TKD Vs. Wing Chun.

  • It doesn't matter if you call it WC, YC, or WT. The basic concepts are the same and i think you know it. About the other friend, you must know that these are just moments. He used Judo in other moments, on the ground and did lock me! but i like more the moments where i look good! ;) lol
