I never get this kind of accuracy when I play. It seems that all my shots have a 1:3 chance of actually hitting the target. I've only recently got BF2 to start playing again, but because the game doesn't have a tracer like in BF3, it's harder to gauge your shots, and thus, get kills.

Even at point blank it seems my shots don't want to go on target. I don't know if it's a lag issue or something else entirely. Not just with snipers, but other weapons too. I've heard of bullet deviation but comeon

No idea, back in the day you would sometimes have to wait a week for ranks to become permanent. The game is old enough now that support for it must be limited.

@ryandpahl i've been researching since i commented and found that 1.5 patch is SUPPOSED to fix the ranks issue. im downloading it now. but no matter what the outcome, your vids rock! keep it up :D

Well thats your issue then. 1.5 is the last patch that I know of and all the ranked servers will be using it. So if you want to keep your points, you have to play on ranked servers that are up to date.

@TerrorWatcher They never have, it's always been experience and will always be experience. Bullet Drop is something that EA barely explain. I also heard that bullets will bounce off walls (for whatever reason)

While I do agree learning from experience is nice, the feel that you don't have the basic ballistic training feels like you're a civilian being drafted

Ricocheting bullets would be an interesting addition though

Still dont see how u mange to hit anythign at that distance. I can shoot somone in font of me and it will miss half the time. lol I end up trough half my ammo trying to hit somone who isnt moving. Hit counter of BF2 if F'd up xD

There is an invisible curtain, or a plane, which everything disapears behind.

From the video, as I move foreward you can see more details being revealed as this invisible curtain moves foreward with me. Its the limit point where the computer does not draw anything beyond to save on processes.

Head shots are 1 hit kill with most rifles.

Body shots are 2-3 depending what weapon.

If the target has a medic nearby, it may take even more shots....always aim for the head first!

I found it really hard to make headshots at 100m and more cos the mouse was very unprecise and kept jumping by 2 or 4 pixels. Decreasing the mouse sensitivity to 30% fixed the problem

this might or might not work on some peoples computers but i have noticed that when u put the enemies at the edge of your screen the fog effect lightens up and allows you to see farther

I initially just checked these out to see if distance was a factor [which is, and arc seems to be taken into consideration too].. I snipe in about all games I play, but never on a game with such large scale maps. It seems this creates new issues and tools.. I used First Shot Advantage in other games with smoke nades etc.. But now I know how it can be used in a new way on BF.. and thanks for the tip about the ferns, now I know what ones are constantly drawn.. makes sense though. Thanks ;]

Ugh. I hate how people can turn DOWN graphics settings to get an advantage on you...

Snipers are probably the most frustrating part of the game when you're NOT a sniper, because they're usually way out of range for your return fire.

Plus, both the M-95 and L96A1 do 95% of your health in damage, so if you've so much as stubbed your toe, a sniper shot to anywhere on your body kills you...

for get this sniper rifle, you must buy Euro force. because the patch 1.5 only give you the euro force maps. buy euro force give you the sniper rifle and a p90 for you anti-tank kit.

Special forces is a seperate Mod to BF2. You do not get it with patch 1.5.

!.5 gives you the euro forces and armoured fury booster packs plus all the other new bonus maps.

Special forces still needs to be purchased to be played.

wow... that really reminds me of this one guy, who was from ether America or Britain.

He was sent out on an assassination mission... he lay in the grass just outside the camp for a couple of days...

.... he was so well hidden, that the enemy walked right by him a couple of times

And then, he shot his target and very slowly, slid away, while the camp went apeshit....

He was all covered with bug bites and decubitus ulcers(bed sores)

... probably stank like ass ...

But he got the job done :D

Mid-Range Snipe (200 - 300)

Medium Geometry w/ 100 View Distance

Long-Range Snipe (400 Meters and higher)

High Geometry w/100 view Distance. All other settings can be set to low.
