Are these two idiots in the video comparing the Honda Fit with upscalr, luxury, or sport cars. Someone who is interested in a Fit don't want "bells and whistles." They want an inexpensive car that is versitile. And the Fit does that. I prefer to own Ford's but they currently do not have a wagon/hatchback. The Honda Fit is at the top of my list to replace my wagon.
2008 Fit Sport 8,000 miles 5 Speed 37 worst MPG 42 Best MPG(summer) Regular Fuel with 10% Alcohol FUN!! Great Audio!! Super interior To think I almost bought a Chevy Aveo (Daewoo) YIKES I L O V E this car Save your money, leave it stock and invest in tires (tyres) and go bumping the rev limiter. This is what eco fun is all about Oh... it fun in the snow as well, just avoid deep snow :>)
for the tunes here, i heard that either aem, or greddy where gonna begin producing an aftermarket supercharger which would produce 50 more horses on a stock fit, dont razz me if im wrong, im not totally sure on the manufacturere. but do some reaserch.
I've had mine for 17 months and I still love to crank down on it on farm to market, county roads, and any where else where I can experience lateral G forces. I am old enough that I can honestly say, I have owned Lincolns and Cadillacs that weren't as well equipped. If I were 14 and had to wait 2Yrs. to drive one that was purchased for me,it would feel like lifetime.
Dude all u got to do to your fit is ad a cold air intake (15 horse power add) a set of dick brakes in the back to replace the drums that come stock (about $12000 through in a nice new set of cams to ad about 10 more horses and a turbo if you fell like adding 45 to 50 more horse power. and you have a 180 horse power car and still get like 33 to 40 mpg.
Yah, I would put a K&N high performance air intake. If I had one I probably put a supercharger if they have one. I just love the sound of a superchargers on a k series engine. But I'll will do without "dick brakes" though. ;)
The Fit does not look weird, it looks awesome. Just like everything else about it! Oh, and those guys forgot that the Fit is capable of slaloming faster than a Corvette Z06!
I test drove this car(AT sport). The paddle shifting was cumbersome to shift around turns. For the price/cost-its good. They are made in Japan, so wait time=10 weeks.Honda appeals to having low supply on hand at the dealerships =which artifically creates a higher DEMAND in consumers for there products(used or new cars).
I own a 2008 Fit Sport, forget the automatic and extra charge for the option. The 5 speed is the way to go, with a Sport option. I bought my Fit the same day of test driving it, there was no wait period and there were five Fits at the dealership. So, the 10 week idea, not in my experience.
I like this car! Those Japanese know how to make a car to trick out. Those tail lights are 2004 model style in Japan. Those fools say that car is not good looking! Forget them!
I have had my Fit for only 3 weeks now and I've already gone over 2000 miles. I LOVE THIS CAR! I drove from Indiana, completely across Ohio, and about 30 miles into Pennsylvania on one tank of gas. On that stretch I got 42 MPG... FORTY-TWO!!!! Did I mention that I LOVE THIS CAR???
I work in the automotive industry and I drive a Honda Fit. These guys just aren't fans of the Entry Compact segment. This car has 109 HP which is a lot considering its weight! and I can definitely say that it has a WOW factor. They didn't even mention the storage space, which is incredible. I call my car the Tardis, because it really is bigger on the inside than it appears!!
there's a lot that went unmentioned, like the seat configurations and flat folding rears. the gas tank is under the seat and opens up a lot of cargo room. i think they graded it appropriately but there was a lot in the interest of time that wasn't mentioned.
They did not mention the electronic power steering; no belt to contend with, no power steering pump to die. The car is vry tight on turns, easy to park, and
My honda fit looks like a UFO and I love it lolololololol

Cold air intake will NOT add 15hp on a 1.5L econobox.
A 1.5L engine that's struggling to put out 180hp will NOT get 40mpg.
You're just talking out of your ass.

this is the best economy car on the market right now, hands down. a bit pricy for this segment but you get what you pay for.

if the weight 1960lbs is true...then it's not a slow car at least...coz it's even lighter than my 97 miata.....

really fair review
I drive a Fit Sport and an 06 Civic and actually the Civic gets better MPG.
Reasons for getting this car:
VERSATILITY - we get dogs, cargo, and a carseat in it
MPG - coming from a truck... it's saving us a couple hundred a month
SAFETY - Honda's "safety for everyone" puts airbags everywhere and ABS STANDARD... crazy on a 15k car

They don't mention the side seat & curtain airbags included in a sub $16,000 car...and even though only 109BHP it weighs only about 1960lbs.
thesurfer60 5 years ago
yeah 109hp, would it hurt to at LEAST give it another 20hp?
