Isn't it sad that someone goes into an international airport and there isn't even one worker who is bilingual for his language? It should be manditory that they have a translator whom they can have brought in for such instences. Did they even think to ask anyone else there if they could speak the language? I have been shot with a taser twice and I am an EMT, a taser cannot kill. Each one of these officers has been shocked by a taser before they can use it. If they wanted to use it they would have shot as soon as entering the room, instead they wait until he exhibits violence. Until you have been their standing between society and violence protecting life, until you have any knowledge about what you speak, my advice would be to continue remaining quiet in the background as you have in the past.
I don't want to appear as if I know everything, but from what I've read different peopel react in different ways and that this is not the first death caused by the taser. If it happend even once, that should be enough reason to stop usuing them.

The moment the cops arrive, when mr.Dziekanski calls out "policja" his tone seems that of relief rather than anger or fear. He seems to feel threatened before they arrive especially when he says "I will not let you do this to me" in Polish. What also strikes me is that he is not violent towards the people in front of him. I am very happy atleast that the lady with the glasses and brown hair tried to help Robert, she had some class in doing that. It's just very sad how it ended. I don't know about you guys, but I cannot help but feel that these cops and maybe even those incompitant airport staff that couldn't help him and told his mom that he never showed up, essentially lying to her and having her leave the airport, I cannot help but feel that these people must be severey punished, their bood must be shed!! Isn't it sad that someone goes into an international airport and there isn't even one worker who is bilingual for his language? It should be manditory that they have a translator whom they can have brought in for such instences. Did they even think to ask anyone else there if they could speak the language? I do believe that this was handled poorly and am embarrassed that someone coming into my country would be treated in such a fashion. Tasers seem to be used more often than they should be!!

In order for the police to really have the right to use the taser, this man had to hurt a person, destroy property and endanger his own life. And even then, people would still complain about the use of tasers.
Like i said, it's very sad that he died like this, but just keep in mind that tasers have been used for many many years now in US, and taser related deaths are minimal to none. Way more efficient than a gun.

I have been shot with a taser twice and I am an EMT, a taser cannot kill. Each one of these officers has been shocked by a taser before they can use it. If they wanted to use it they would have shot as soon as entering the room, instead they wait until he exhibits violence. Until you have been their standing between society and violence protecting life, until you have any knowledge about what you speak, my advice would be to continue remaining quiet in the background as you have in the past.

This is the result of several failures of communication. I think law enforcement officers are a too quick to use tasers in these situations.
I mean, honestly, there were four cops and one guy with a stapler. Did they really need to taser him at all (let alone four or five times) to gain control of the situation?
That being said, it should be common sense that if you start destroying property and throwing things around in an airport you are bound to find yourself in a world of trouble.

The moment the cops arrive, when mr.Dziekanski calls out "policja" his tone seems that of relief rather than anger or fear. He seems to feel threatened before they arrive especially when he says "I will not let you do this to me" in Polish. What also strikes me is that he is not violent towards the people in front of him. He seems delusional since when he holds the chair he stairs into to space while there is a woman there trying to talk to him. He doesn't even seem to notice her.

The Police need to try some old-fashioned calming techniques, or how about just 'threatening' him into obeying. Tasers should only be used in worst case scenario.
